BLCC ENGLISH TITLE TO BE CONTESTED

On 18th of May the junior English title in the 7-9 years -25kg is due to be contested at the Bai Lang Martial Arts Centre in Telford.

Between Ace kickboxing's Mohammed Umar and Red Phoenix Kickboxing Academy's Marshall Hunt.

Mohammed has been one of the smallest competitors on the BLCC circuit of events and he has often had to give away age and weight in order to get fights always performing well against them. His most recent victory came in March at the ISKA World Championship qualifiers when again against the odds he pulled off the upset and walked away with the gold medal.

His opponent Marshall Hunt is also no slouch as he came 4th at the WAKO British this year.
He is hoping his BLCC debut is a successful one fighting over 5 x 1 1/2 minute rounds for the English title.

I would like to say thank you to Neil Kelly for giving us this great opportunity and we are both looking forward to the bout and good luck to Mohammed Umar who looks like an extremly good competitior.

The BLCC is all about the safety for young kids who want to compete in Light Continuous Ring Bouts and that is def a step forward in the right direction.

Good luck Marshall,

Sorry I wont be ther as I will be officiating at the Welsh WAKO F/C Championships on that day.
What a shame, I really want to get to a BLCC event and obviously to see you. I know Dave and Lee and Neil have worked hard at it.

Maybe next time when your defending!!! ;-)

I know nobody fought yet but this was the title Charlie Pearson was to due to fight Marshall before. But Marshall had to pull out cause of Marlon's commitments.

Can we fight the winner as I still got the belt and the fighter waiting and willing to fight for this title.

cheers and good luck to both little uns and they do battle for BLCC English Title.

Hi Dean,

Yes spoken to Neil about this one and was hoping to get Marshall vs Charlie on for the bout in May.

If Marshall wins we will be more than happy to defend vs Charlie Pearson at a later date if that's ok with you?

I want to keep Marshall nice and busy now whilst he is enjoying it.

Ps Thanks Leif, hopefully with some luck and dedication off Marshall he will maybe get as good as you. (One can hope. lol)

With respect

It's great to finally get you on the BLCC circuit Marlon and a pleasure to have young Marshall featuring in one of our title contests.
Sure it will be a great day!

Charlie Pearson is first in line against the winner if ages and weights still match up Dean. Didn't know your plans for Telford hence why this title is taking place.

Anyone wishing to have their fighters featured on this Light Continuous Kickboxing event in Telford should contact promoter Dave Whitfield with their details on 08000436936 / 07960522709

Thanks Neil.

Me and Marshall are looking forward to finally coming to Telford.
Long drive for us though nearly 4 hrs lol.
And yes we are more than happy to defend against Charlie Pearson if we win, but we have to concentrate on Mohammed 1st who is a top fighter.

It's great to be able to take the young ones who are the future of the sport to comps that will test them more than usual interclubs yet, their saftey is paramount.

Thanks for the opportunity and see you all tomorrow :)

You will love it mate. The organization, The concept everything.

Maybe you can get an event up north in the future?

Bai Lang is also a great venue. All the best and I hope to get over at some point but tommorow is a busy day.

Are you coming over to Dudley for Brian Aston's fight on the night? Its only 30 mins or so away.

I would love to come and support Brian in his world title bid, but I will have my 2 boys with me and they need to go to school the following day and it's a 4 hr drive!

If I can persuade "THA BIG BOSS" she may let us out. lol

Thanks a lot to Neil Kelly for giving us the opoortunity.
Mohammed Umar and ACE Kickboxing for accepting the bout.
Lee and Dave Whitfield for making us feel welcome at the Bai Ling Martial Arts Academy.
The people there were very friendly and helpfull.

It's a great venue and I really like the concept of it and safety to paramount at the BLCC shows.

Me and Marshall really enjoyed and would like to thank everybody for their great support during the bout.

Marshall is getting better and better each day and has the hart for it and def NO FEAR. lol.

Looking forward to the next one and will be bringing some more students up as I feel they are ready now too.

Congratulations to Marshall Hunt from Red Phoenix on becoming the BLCC English Champion and commisserations to a gallant opponent in Muhammad Umar of ACE Fighters - both guys putting on a great performance and a credit to their clubs.

Similarly congratulations to Artur Stefanski of the School of Masters on his English title win over Brian Hughes of USKA in what epitomised the control and light contact of the BLCC.

Overall around 50 fights took place on the day with support from our usual hardcore BLCC clubs as well as newcomers in the form of Red Phoenix and Falcons MMA. Special thanks go to Heath of Falcons MMA for bringing 12 fighters all the way from South Wales, Billy Battrick (a BLCC regular) for his larger than usual contingent all the way from Accrington, Marlon for making the arduous trek all the way across to Telford (and hopefully back safely) and Richard Baxter for making the journey just to check us out.

As event promoters, the coaches also deserve mention in being extremely patient reshuffling fights following withdrawals and absentees with many re-arranging their own matches mutually to take the pressure off. Hats off to Kyle Williams of Eclipse who as a 16 year old not only makes an impressive FC fighter but also a great coach - brilliantly organised!

With only a few disputed decisions, which to be fair is among the lowest I've encounter in 15 years of attending tournaments, everyone seemed to enjoy the day and I believe our political neutrality and impartiality were confirmed with both of our hardcore BLCC club fighters having title decisions go against them.

Thanks again to all concerned, we sincerely hope tht you enjoyed the day and will continue to show your support of the BLCC. For newcomers our next scheduled events are Telford on July 6th followed by Solihull on July 13th - details of both on the BLCC website - www.britishlightcontinuouscouncil.org.uk

Dave and Lee (Bai Lang Martial Arts)

PS sincere thanks for all the kind comments on our Club guys - much appreciated.
