Not easy to get info.

I do know it wil feature Relentless Reiss Larvin, Aaron Watkinson, Ronnie Hogan, Ivor Price (Ivor is coming of the back of two stoppage wins) and Sam Beasley.

From our gym-Shane Davies, Nathen Davies, Liam ? and Adam Myre.

See you there Sunday Mick?

Sam has a broken rib.

Ivor was looking good last time i saw him. Ronnie in great shape as ever but no opponent yet.

I think its been a bit tough to get things finalised for this show. Happens sometimes

Hi Norm

Still is. We are just waiting confirmation of opponent.

Fancy it?
NORM

Was offered it mate - just came at a dodgy time - I'd just fought and wasn't at all impressed with my peformance so didn't know what I was gonna do at that time fight-wise.

Fighting in Leicester in early june anyway so it's a bit close to that :( Would love to have had a crack though!

Lol At Mick (you should know why, if not then text me)

I know Norm, just thought you might have changed your mind.

Look forward to seeing you fight on Jags show, especially as you are training there now. Its a good move.

Mike Guiness who you fought last time out is not a bad opponent though. He has been around a while. Better that the bloke you fought on the show previous to that!

I would rate that lad reiss as high as any junior his age right now. If he was dedicated to his training he would definetly be one for the future. You heard it here first, remember. lol

Chers Mark - found anyone yet?

Just need to up the quality of opponents really before moving any further, hence the move. I know what you're saying, but I can fight a hell of a lot tidier than that - just have to prove it to MYSELF first!

Enough of my drama! Hope you find someone for him to fight.

He will have an opponent. Just been offered a great fight that I have said yes to. Its a real tough one though!!

Not for the title. But a better fight with lots going for it.

WIll post details as soon as its firmed up!

We wanted a good opponent which was why I suggested you Norm. 5 fights and 5 wins is a good record. Sure your time will come soon!!

I don't think I will be over, event will run late again probably and will be knackered by end of it as I am working all Saturday too.

Have you got any urges to get back in the ring? Or you loving the not have to watch the calories and get stressed over fighting life?

Hi Dean

Ronnie is my figther so will be cornering him on Sunday.

We have the hardest of hard fights against Ivan Daminov from Firewalker gym (which is where i train to).

Know him well. He has had 10 fights in his home country and I think 6 or seven Thai boxing fights in the UK all wins.

It makes us the underdog but will provide what I beleive will be the fight of the night. It will be hard for us though giving away so much experience.

So its Thai v FC over 5 rounds prestige!

Our next fight is then even harder eh Mick?

Hope the French guy made the weight to!

Marc Apelle and Brian Aston made the weight!!!

As far as I am aware. Everyone left the gym today smiling so assume all is well.

One fighter pulled out today! So Nathen Davies again has no fight. Thats twice now.Frustrating!!!

Brian retired with what looked like a closed eye after the 5th , the french fighter had a strong fast start troubling Brian and unsettling him , brian found his feet a few time off loading with his hands . by the 5th the french fighter was still strong but showed signs of unsettling and maybe slowing down but from what i could see brian was truggling with his sight ... im sure someone will confirm

Hard luck Brian mate.

I thought the tide might be turning a couple of times as Apele seemed to be tiring towards the end and Brian usually steps it up towards the second half of the fight but unfortunately it was not to be.

Fight of the night for me had to be Ronnie Hogan vs the lad from Firewalkers Gym. Ronnie looked very neat and sharp in the early rounds but the other guy finished really strongly and was mixing in hands and legs to head and body nicely. Really good match up and no losers in a fight like that!

Ivor Price also looked very strong but i thought the fight could maybe have gone on a bit longer. Maybe if the guy took a knee and took a count, but thats easier said than done sometimes!

Good night.

Hi Mick

That was a very good fight and had everyone talking after.

Ivan is probably the fittest person I know and that was what won it for him in the end. A very good mix of styles and having watched the fight back again we landed lots of good shots on him but just could not hurt him.

A good fight for full contact.
NORM

Definitely agree with Ronnie/Ivan being fight of the night.

Can someone tell me what weight the Ivor Price fight was at? I don't think the announcer said.

Hi Norm

Good to meet you last night.

He weighed about 77k at our gym when Ronnie and him were sparring last week. HE usually weighs about 75ish. He is going well at the moment.
NORM
Posted: 2008-05-19 07:45:06
You too!

Looked quite big for 75! Is it me or do I look tiny for my weight? lol

:)
markgibbs
Posted: 2008-05-19 08:14:22
I think people just look bigger in the ring. Ivan , who Ronnie fought weighed 76k to and he looked big at that weight aswell.

On a different note, just got back from training and some of my guys are a bit pissed off with something I missed.

I hope that the knob of a judge who shouted at my fighters 6 year old son to leave the corner when he sneaked in to get a look at his dad is proud of himself!! The kid was in tears for the rest of the night so well done!!

Anyone who knows me will tell you that this is out of character for me but I am pissed off.

This judge was on our case all fight about putting water on my fighter for god sakes.

I will talk to him face to face next time I see him but well done jobsworth, you give the fine family sport a good name!

I hear that they are looking for traffic wardens and you are perfectly suited to the job!!
