To stop the other thread getting bogged down when people start posting their pictures:

Pictures from the Thrasher V Rab Burt fight, click here.

I did get some pictures from the other fights from up in the stands, but they're not great, to be honest, the lighting was a little dark (believe it or not). If I get chance I'll pick out a few of the better ones and see what I can do to brighten them up later in the week.

I valued my camera too much to do the beachwear shots! :D

Kudos to the guy wearing the Borat swimsuit! Funny how the straps keeping everything in place all crumpled when he bent down to get in the ring. I noticed he took much more care getting back out again. :D

I only got ringside shots of Andy's fight.

I thought it amuzing when Mr Harrison flicked your bulge in the centre of the ring haha :)

Consider yourself lucky that one of the guys didnt take a pair of scissors into the ring and snip the back of the garment as you were waving to the crowd :D

Our lass watched in open mouthed awe as Mr Harrison virtually dropped to his knees in front of the mankini to give Dougie's todger a quick flick!!! Haven't had such a laugh in ages hahaha :-)

Yeah and just as me and Rab were getting ready to make our entrance, the beach boys came flying past, with bits of dougie flying everywhere - it took me till 4th or 5th round to get over the shock. Good effort though mate - and who won the title by the way?

Does anyone else think the abreviation "POS" was a bad idea?

Why would anyone else think the abreviation "pos" was a bad idea? - do you ? any particular reason ?
Liam R
Posted: 2008-05-14 09:21:10
It stands for Point Of Sale in retail but i cant see this being a problem, i worked in EPOS for a while pretty boring. Only fun part was being able to ask someone to look under their till then making the cash drawer smack them on the forehead from 100miles away.

In the USA it is a very common slang for "piece of shit". It is used in texting and email mostly, but people say it too. Like "LOL" or "IMO"...I guess I was the only one that got a kick out of it.

Flyweight - are you saying some people in the usa ACTUALLY say the words "LOL" when they want to laugh? How sad that people replace the emotion of laughing with three little letters :-( Across the pond when we find something funny we tend to just laugh, you should try it - sometimes you laugh so hard a little bit of pee comes out, which in turn makes you laugh even more! It's like a spiralling circle of laughter!

No, not with LOL (although that would be funny if someone told a joke and your face was expressionless and you just looked at them and said "LOL")..now I am LMAO ;-), I was just using that as an example to explain, but they do actually say "POS"....I guess it makes them feel better (even though they are calling someone a name) that they aren't actually saying the cuss word?!? I don't say it, just heard it a lot.

Dougie, that is wrong on so many levels! When the guys asked me to do the beechwear parade, I thought why not, would be a laugh, but had no idea you were going up in that, when I seen you going up my instinct was to run to the stage and tackle you off, but soon stopped at the thought of getting your tackle in my face!

Thanks for that Amy! Did I offend you when you were at Fairtex or something? LOL.

To be honest, when we came up with "Power of Scotland" as a name, we were struggling to find a name to say something about the event etc., and ended up just going with it thinking that it would be a one off and didn't really matter. We wanted to give it a Scottish identity, because there was loads of big shows in England and we wanted to try and show we could do it up here to. Then a simple play on the National Anthym of "Flower of Scotland".

After the first event exceeded expectaions in terms of scale and popularity, then it was already to late to change the name. Everyone naturally changed it to "POS" or "Power of", if you look through Ax you can see everyone shortening it and the brand slowly developed. It was only at the last event where I consiously adopted the new brand. I've no real skills in Marketing apart from doing a clas when at Uni, but the only reason I hesitated changing it was because of the retail connection as Liam said. But I like the POS thing, it doesn't really mean anything, but its another side of brand and it still stands for Power of Scotland and the website is going to remain the same. Sorry, I'll stop boring you!

BTW, I've not had any constructive feedback this time, I usually have quite a few emails and like to use them to try and improve things for next time. I have my own things I need to jump on and address, but any constructive critisism would be great!
