9 kg overweight, over 6 years since my last fight, haven't trained in more than 4, chronic tendonitis in both knees, nowhere near fit, and I've agreed to a fight in 4 weeks.

I suppose it's one way to motivate yourself to get going.

Tell the promoter to have a back-up, as if you are that unfit and dive straight back in to "fight training" then the tendonitis will flare up.

Prepare for the bad moods in not being able to eat (severe calorie deficiet diet)....and being able to perform when severely dehydrated....
Thats the only way you are going to drop 9kgs in 4-weeks (unless you are a super-heavyweight)

Good luck.

PS Just seen your profile. If you are at a temple show in Thailand, you probably wont have a weigh-in. LOL

Lucky bas%%%d, I'm 25k over (it's my thyroid honest). Let me know how you manage to keep it to 9.

PS I know a butcher in BKK who's got a bacon slicer, that might help you shift a bit.

Cheers

get a colonic, that'll shift about 3-4kg of un-needed shit.

I reckon 40 mins on the exercise bike in the morning and 1 hour of swimming in the afternoon should compensate for not being able to run.

I dunno how I kept it to 9. I thought it was a lot to put on to be honest.

I will bear the colonic suggestion in mind, (:

Losing 38kg would have been easier if a branch of Dominos hadn't opened up round the corner.

The gyms called Singdongthai btw Hellfighter. Know it?

might have to pay the Gym a visit and grab some video of the training... can you ask the Camp Manager if it would be alright?

Well, basically I got walloped. The ref stopped it in the second round. The guy they matched me against was a trainer from a gym near the old airport and had so many fights you'd think I was just trying to exaggerate if I said how many. So I didn't really have a chance.

I got him with a couple of leg kicks, but didn't land a single punch in the whole match. He knocked me down in the second round with a cross and landed a kick to the head after that which I blocked but still left me seeing stars.

The promoter had said they were putting me in with a new guy who had 3 fights. Dunno why the need for misleading people but anyway.

Still I got 4000 baht out of it, I get my name in the Thai boxing magazine here, I broke my 6+ year spell of inaction, I can say I fought a local in Thailand (a big deal for me) , and it was an unbelievable buzz.

Liverpool so far. Still waiting on the Irish ones to make their minds up.

Give us a shout when you're here in July.
