14. Ranjit Dheer (Eagles TT) vs Lee Coville (Covilles Gym)

This fight is massive!

I am so excited to see Lee make an appearance on an English event, let alone in his and my home town.

Ranjit is going to have his work cut out, but I think this could go either way.

Who ever takes this, is going to making waves in 2010.. guarented!

I like Ranjit but Colville will win this fight and Marc v Colville would be a better bout than Marc v Ranjit he would win clear, Ranjit was better at 55kg but still struggled with strength against Dean James.
Singto Muay
Posted: 2010-03-01 08:06:41
I would like to see Howson, James or Trainor against Lee.. but I don't think he could make that weight.

Also Danny T vs Lee would be a cracker!
Liam R

Colville at 55kg? What have you been smoking? They wold prob handle him at 59 anyhow.
Singto Muay

I'm sure if they came up to 58/59kg Lee would be all over it. I'd be willing to put it on my next show.

This fight Ranjit v Coville is very interesting, since Ranj came to our gym we have been working on his defence plus movement and timing, his natural weight is I believe 55kg but he has 5 straight wins at around 62kg. I agree Coville will be very tough to beat at 61kg, but we have confidence against bigger opponents

Good work Nigel, we havent seen Ranjit since leaving East Area so will be interesting. Will you be drumming on way to ring?

Anything is possible, but not this.
Nigel Eagles Thai
Posted: 2010-03-01 09:51:44
Thanks for the drumming plug, not many people in Thai know my dark side (pro drummer for 38years) s--t now everyone knows
back to the thread, Ranjit is slowly working his weight down to 55kg one kilo at a time it seems. But when he came to our gym he was 75kg!!! So it is a long task keeping him up mentally after a two year layoff. Now he is training 5 days a week, and regards to the mention that he wasn't strong enough against Mr James, I believe it has a lot to do with his balance or lack of it. i am trying to get him to plant his feet better when punching, so hopefully when he gets to 55kg he will be pleanty strong enough

10. UKMF Junior British Championship Fight
Danny Hendle (NMT) vs Evan Jays (Benfleet)

This fight is going to be the biggest and most talked about junior fight this year.

These two junior stars have faced all of the best that England has to offer, bringing wins against most, if not all between them.

Now they will face each other off, in Cambridge on the 24th April, for the UKMF British Junior Title.

Who will win.....

13. Tom Berrington (Eagles TT) vs Wayne Fisher (Carlisle Dragons)

Another great domestic fight waiting to happen.

Wayne Fisher ranked No.11 currently, will be facing a local hero and a favourite of mine.... Tom Berrington.

Tom has been showing a lot of promise over the last 9 months, taking on some serious opponents and coming out on top.

This will truley be a North vs South epic battle, with Carlisle looking to shake up the Bedfordshire lad.

Who will win....

Help for Heroes Website

With thanks to Mitsa Print, who will be walking around with a donation tin for this very much deserved cause. Donations are welcome for any amount, however Mitsa Print have been so kind to give away a fully printed H4H t-shirt with every donation of £5.00 or more.

We hope that every t-shirt purchased and worn will go on to spur more people to donate, so please donate what you can when they come around.

I personally have five students who are currently out in the middle east so am giving full support of this just cause myself.

Thank you

Ryan

Congrats on the show Ryan, will all these fighters now be entered into ukmf rankings?

With respect they should have been in the ukmf rankings already if they were fighting for titles. There are fighters in those rankings now that have never fought on ukmf shows

Antdog - Paul holds the 61kg British.

Dizzle - Good fight, hopefully there will be a best of three on the next one.

Weazeldeazel - Yes they should be entered soon as I pull my finger out and send the results in.. still suffering with the promoters jitters.

Nigel - Totaly agree with you, but then Ranjit would not have been given the opportunity to fight Marc Brown, nore Tom vs Wayne.

Marc - big thanks to you for taking the fight at short notice, hopefully see you up our way again later in the year... for you know who. LOL!

In answer to the rankings issue... off the record, lol. The current rankings where put together with very short notice, taking from whatever sources where available at the time.

The job of the rankings officer is a thankless, time consuming hard job... I have suggested the rankings be completly wiped clean, and started again. Using a very simplistic system... this is currently in discussion.

Anyhow, big thanks to everyone who attended or took an interest... see you at the next one... coming this October!

I agree Ryan, Ranjit and Tom would not have been given the opportunity to fight for titles. But this is not about me or my fighters, it is for the ukmf to be seen to be an organisation above reproach.
One committee member told me on the phone that another big organisation was mickey mouse and their titles were not worth anything, regardless of the fact that the org in question has been around since the 70's
Another derided other rule systems on this very forum.
How can ukmf be taken seriously when they speak poorly of others, it is not good business.
UKMF must be seen to be squeeky clean in all dealings. So rankings first, only use fighters that have genuinely fought on ukmf shows

Awesome Ryan, to be honest the rankings and genuine titles were one of the main reasons i joined UKMF, ( as well as the officials involved and good work its trying to do for thaiboxing).

would realy like to see them upto date with all fighters entered on who qualify.

It is a hard job etc etc. so well done to the people involved but i just hope its done sooner rather than later.

not meaning to pick but im a little confused by:

7. UKMF Midlands Area Title Fight
Jafar Em (KO) vs Jamie Mott (Phraya Pichai) [-76kg Male Adult]
> Jafar Em (KO) – Champion UKMF Midlands Area

6. UKMF Southern Area Title Fight
Ben Baah (KO) vs Richie Gent (Phraya Pichai) [-70kg Male Adult]
> Ben Baah (KO) – Champion UKMF Southern Area

2 fighters from KO fighting for Midland and Southern titles?

Singto Muay
Posted: 2010-04-27 17:06:08
Yep.. the grey area... one fight was agreed well before the inclusion of the midlands area, the other was a very last minute replacement.

The KO fighter who has won the midlands belt, will be defending it in the midlands some time before the years out, hopefully to reconcile the belt back to the Midlands.

KO are south, just incase thats not clear.
