Some nice pics there.

I am so gutted i cant make this show.

Neil Woods Vs Kevin Harper!!!

Imran Khan Vs Kieran Keddle!!!

Both of those two are the ones im most interested in (no disrespect to the rest at all!)
As i have seen them fight before and always wondered what would happen.

I do however think that people have been too quick to write off Neil Woods.
He was my hero back in the day!

Love the picture of Imran looking chilled, Kieran doesnt look "BOY-ish" anymore LOL and Thrasher is a very frightening looking character.
Thrasher will give children nightmares!!!

WOW the venue looks amazing, like something from a top pro boxing event. Really pleased for all the fighters to be able to experience this kind of show and size in this country.... all the hard work put in means there's no more deserving bunch of people. Enjoy every second fella's and good luck one and all!! This is so exciting, lets hope Muay Thai is finally going to break through into the mainstream.... it's got to hasn't it?!!! like it says somewhere all the excitement of stand up in MMA ( though better executed! ) without the boring bit on the ground!!!

Was speaking to one of thrashers mate and his mate he brought along tonght on the met. He said he goes to Scott quiggs boxing fights and doesn't know much about Thai boxing. He said that at te boxing ge doesn't like the breaks in between fights and said he liked how the MSA show flowe right through. Proves in my eyes master sken and team are getting it spot on and that the wai kru should be fazed out. Well done to all. Michael dicks was fantastic as was liam and all the fighters. Jordan Watson to beat buakow he was quality x

The 3 "big" fights certainly not home decisions. Trainor fought brilliantly and had a MASSIVE 5th round. The first people to congratualte him when the bell rung were the Thai corner.
Don't think I saw Bovy throw one kick in the whole fight and just walked forward trying to throw big punches. Dicksy just took him apart with elbows, slipping in his guard and jabbing him with the point of his left. Cut him quite bad and Mr Myers had a couple of good long looks at it. At one point I though it was going to be stopped. Dicksy rocked him with a massive elbow in the 5th and Bovy was lucky not to go down. The result was never really in doubt.
Liam fought well and just seemed to pick his points. Never turned in to a whack off, and you could see Liam getting in to his stride and catching Anuwat as and when he came in. Liam also cut him, but I couldn't see what with.

All 3 results were unanimous, and importantly the Thai's all accepted them. Great show, fantastic fights, and a good night

Great win for Liam Harrison,

Followed his progress for years at Jittis and seen him fight many times as for Anuwat seen him heaps too but

Anuwat is not the same figher anymore in my opinion!!!

He does not seem to have the strenght or fire he used to have.

First of all thank you very much To Master Sken for his hospitality, the seats we had were possibly the best in the house I really can thank you enough.

The show itself took our beloved sport to a new level, it was a great idea to do away with the ritual dance it allowed the show to flow better, the production on the event was outstanding, the dancers and pyros really boosted the atmosphere and I loved the short clips prior to the fights.

Every fight was a potential headline bout on any other show and each lived up to the hype. My personal views on the fights, Stuart Kemp was great I’m chuffed for both him and Mick Tobin who is really punting out great fighters, Simon Chu, I haven’t seen him fight for years some of my guys trained with him in BKK last year and told me he was a monster my god were they right, he was blowing some steam in the fifth but some of the shots he hit Daiton with prior to that were fkn nasty. Jordan was as always beautiful to watch I can wait to see him fight Baukaw.
I felt sorry for Kieran, I was close to his corner and could see he was having difficulty with his left calf prior to the fight, his movement kicking and kneeing seemed restricted which I believe cost him the fight, got to give him the credit for getting through the 5 rounds.
Dean James was superb I was gonna stick money on him on beluckytote but never got round to it, to be fighting and winning at that level after so few fights is amazing.
Was the second time I’ve saw Damien fight live and he doesn’t disappoint, a really close fight but the wee man was just that little bit in front,
Dixie, I love watching him fight have done for a few years now, this for me was the fight of the night, prior to last night I think he would have been proud just to last 5 rounds with Bovy as the fight progressed he saw the win and by the fifth he smelt the stoppage which he nearly got, Bovy is tough as old boots and Michael rocked him, you could see the emotion and the realisation of what he had accomplished in his face at the end of the fight I’m so made up for him.
Liam’s fight was clinical and close, he showed again why he is the best fighter ever to come from the UK.

The whole event was full of drama and excitement, no fight was easily predictable and a lot of the favourites (Bovy, Anuwat, howson et al) were beaten, this is what the MT scene need, their was criticism after the last event that the fights would not make good TV (notably the storey bout) as they were one sided, this may have had an element of truth as the non MT fans may not have appreciated this. However last nights event had “local” lads fighting against the odds and winning, this is think will make for great TV, viewers will be able to identify with the fighters and go along with/buy into the success, hopefully generating more tickets sales and sponsorship.

Thank you again to Master Sken for his hospitality, Credit must go to Dan Green who pulled it all together last night and should be so proud of what he has accomplished and should take a rest for a couple of days, (however I bet he’s on the blower today working on the next event). And also Swee Lip who I had the pleasure of sharing a table with last night it’s the first time I’ve met him he is a gentleman and he kept Loopy Lou off my back all night lol.

The crowd was great last night however their were a few empty seats, I really believe that we as a community should get behind these events, lets get them sold out and raise the profile guys,

Well done again and I’ll see you all in London

What are the rules about Vaseline? I understood that only enough is to be used on the brow / forehead / temple to avoid cuts etc, but Anuwat and Bovy were absolutely caked in the stuff - through the hair and top of the head. In the last round Anuwat looked like Cameron Diaz. I thought you were't allowed to use so much that it could give you a fighting advantage (i.e, not allowing your opponent to grapple you)?

This show was absolutely amazing! Every single fight was better than the last. It is breathtaking to see the talent that is in the UK. The whole show was action packed and flowed so well. The entertainment of the dancers and the screens were super. It is easily the best Thai boxing show I have ever been to.
Thank you to Master Sken for the hospitality! :) Our seats were great! I would always generally mention who was fighter of the night after a show,..but I actually couldn't after this one as the quality was so great. But I will say that Dean James was brilliant as was Michael Dicks,..who completely out fought Bovy,..Unbelieveably he was the more clever fighter and achieved something great last night! I cannot wait for the next show,..I would urge every Muay Thai fan to get behind these promotions, they are going to put Thai boxing on the map! Thanks again to Master Sken!

I will echo the sentiments of the past few posters.....It was an amazing event.
Every single fight could have been a main event on any other show.
The most emotional moment of the night, as Stevie was saying, was the growth of realisation that not only could Dicksy go the distance with the Thai Legend, he could also beat him! I think you maybe able to tell how much by the post-fight pics. Great close fight between Andy and Dean James proving strength and power dont alway win the day. There were some very clever fighters last night who seem to have grown leaps and bounds in the past few months and have a very fight-savy strategic brain. Jordan was leagues ahead of his Italian opponent, got caught with one shot and knocked out 3 of his teeth. I cant wait to see that pic! LOL
Massive well done to Liam in avenging the loss from Jamaica and putting the story straight. There were some massive learnings from the last fight, and now these have been put straight, you out-thought, out-techniqued and out-sped (is that a word? as in too quick) the CURRENT RAJADAMNERN CHAMPION. Anyone who says that Anuwat isnt the fighter he was a few years ago must be missing the point that he is STILL the current Raja Champ.

As for the issues about vaseline, I would be interested to hear the official line on this, as vaseline will obviously have more of an impact on the fight than having advice from 4/5 people in the corner (instead of the certified 3). :P

Massive thank you to Master Sken, Swee Lip and Dan Green for your hospitality. Brilliant show. Cant wait for the next one at Excel Arena in London. :)

I only saw 1 belt been given out yesterday, Simon Chu?
Did I blink and miss the other 2?

What happened to the dutch man's jaw??? Lock/dislocate or fracture?

Great fights and very entertaining.

I thought Michael Dicks was fantastic with the timing and accuracy of his elbows, I was disappointed in the way Bovvy fought, didn't seem to through much (but I wouldn't after 1 of those elbows) his face was red and his hair turned whiter by the rounds! Vaseline was plastered on!!!

I have a question to Jordan Watson, what gum shield do you use? As I will AVOID that brand ;) Gutted you lost your front teeth... Hope your insured and get them sorted.

Great show and well done to all who took part.

wow, what an amazing show, it was awesome to look around the arena and see everyone there to watch Thai Boxing.
every fight was fantastic its hard to pick a favourite but i have to say i really enjoyed watching Kev Harper, i have never seen him fight before and i loved how he kept it his fight and didnt get drawn into his opponents pace. it actually really helped my understanding of scoring watching him!

Liam was fantastic, really happy for him.

also, i thought Dougie was brilliant, he looked a bit nervous to start with then just grew in confidence. he is a superb MC!

i cannot wait for Jordan and buakawnow...roll on may.

well done master sken and Dan for making this available to us and so enjoyable.

Show was awesome, matchups were awesome, fights were awesome, production was awesome, the show ran fluidly and was really exciting, I can in no way really fault it (except I would like wai krus!!but lets let that topic die!!).

My only concern is that this event was heavily advertised and really in all honesty, it was pretty badly attended. The venue was far from full.Considering the level of action on display, the calibre of fighters and production. Are shows like this seriously maintainable in the long term?Does the tv money cover the ticket losses so as to make it worth while? The advertising for this alone must have been a fortune. And the cost of venues the size of the MEN cannot be small.Obviously this was only the second MSA event so hopefully its just early days and all that.

Is it sustainable? Will the public actuallu get behind MT as opposed to or aswell as MMA.Genuine question and in no way critical because I cannot see really how you could make a MT show better than this really?I readily admit I have no idea about the costs of all this so all this is based on my assumptions.Would love some clarification.

To be fair Kieran was clearly injured before the fight started, I am sure I am not the only one that noticed it as he made his way to the ring, I heard he hurt himself warming up so he did brilliantly to go the full 5 rounds.
Dave Croft
Posted: 2010-03-28 15:38:43
a few points raised maybe i can address.

kieren did indeed sustain an injury whilst warming up. an old injury flaring up more than a fresh one. a bit of speedy remial massage and some tape lovingly applied got kieren to a point where injured or not he could fight. knowing youre injured and still prepared to climb into the ring....thats balls.

The seating capacity is in excess of 5,000 and two thirds had bums on them. which by current attendance doubles that of any show to date. not too shabby.

and as for pre fight rituals....nope there were none. and the run over on schedule resulted in a possible fine. however; the format works. muay thai is safe in the hands of master sken and swee lip. bigger audiances will turn on, tune in not drop out (plagerising and bastarding timothy learys famous 1960's speech there)

if you want ram muays im sure master sken will accept your postal orders, cheques and cash. because unless youre paying you wont get a vote. The potential run over fine would finance 3 UK shows

Last nights show was absolutely brilliant every single fight was of the highest standard many thanks and much respect is given to Master Sken,Dan Green, etc for putting on such a big,big show.
I thought Liam Harrison's win over Anuwat was very well deserved as it was obvious he had done his homework after their first meeting last year.
I was really impressed by Simon Chu and Daiton Jackson's fight it's a shame that someone had to lose that battle but Simon Chu is one hell of a dangerous fighter and hopefully we will see more of him in the future as he has real explosive power!
I can't say I have a favourite fight from last night as it would be unfair on all the fighters that took part all I can say is that you were all truly amazing and are pushing British Muay Thai way beyond expectations and just when we think we've seen it all we have another massive show to look forward too at the Excel Arena in May,Jordan Watson v Buakaw Por Pramuk...all I can say is...WOW!!!

Glad Jordan got his teeth back, a shame it happened cos he was in control all the way through really, cant wait for the london show now.
So happy for Liam, knew how much this fight meant to him and how hard he trained, maybe im being biased but its one of the best performances i ve seen, nobody can fault anything about it and was great to watch.

tbf size of the crowd looked mint when i came out to the ring and when i was watching the fights before....dan, master sken, Kay sweelip, Fui Mee, etc best show ive ever been involved in....total class, start to finsish....from everyone who came to support to everyone i trained with in the gym, (Jordan. number 1 training partner, so strong and tough i love sparring an clinching him hes a bear, whos fast as shit and can deck me, i cant wait to smack his fake/real teeth out again when hes gettin ready for Buakaw :) badger, the sparring i need to fight any top fighter in the world so clever and sharp, davys padwork, whipping in those lowkicks fast as lightning got me used to seeing em coming, and a special mention to MR USA Deluca defo had some nice sparring with him.. and MR Smith, every morning for the last 5 weeks i really felt amazing in training with him and in the fight, he his best trainer in this country full stop, has a perfect way of tuning fighters in with perfect tactics, pure brilliance, which im not sure i appreciate enough, everyone from badco please take full advantage of this man whilst you can cos he his class...no one can argue with that and with out his tactics i wouldnt have won that fight, LEGEND.....not sure weather our kid had his fight next week in LA on his mind or what cos he didnt seem the real "Lord of war" but dean was brilliant and timed his shots amazing, will be a great rematch which i think has already been discussed.Jordan Watson is a big massive no teethed fast as f*ck scandaler, loved training with him and cant wait to watch his fight with Buakaw, loved his fight yesterday, apart from his teeth gettin blasted out his face from that elbow, but to be fair hes miles better lookin than me so its all good and i can laugh cos he is ugly like me now :).....cant wait to see Damiens and Dicksies fight on SKY SPORTS...3-0 to england on such a big show....when was last time that happened...lets be proud for UK Muaythai....brilliant night, bollocks to all that shit about "there4 past it, etc" lets just celebrate this night....MSA magic.....PS f*ck what anyone says ROB and VINCE are best commentary team ever......PPS well pleased for Kevin H, PPPS massive thanks to FUI MEE for lookin after me after the fight, truely are the best promotion team ive ever worked with....Thank you Dan, Sweelip, Fui Mee, Master Sken, Kay and Laura....sorry for anyone i have missed...

Currently sitting in an internet Cafe on Sukhumvit (soi 4 lol) so I'll keep this as brief as possible but I've got so much to say I already feel this will be a long one...

Firstly, a huge heartfelt thanks to Dan Green, Master Sken and Swee Lip for once again giving me the opportunity to present such an amazing event. The production quality of Saturday's show was UNBELIEVABLE and I really do feel sorry fo anyone who wanted to but couldn't make it along.

In brief summary, there was brilliant stage with two ENORMOUS screens (showing interviews and stats prior to a fight and ofcourse the fight itself was live on the screens with highlight replays between rounds and angles from about ten or more cameras. There was a fabulous red carpet catwalk, pyrotechnics, flame crucibles spewing dragons breath ten metres high, wonderful (and quite sexy if I may say) dancers, the best PA system I've ever seen (or heard), STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL Ring Card Girls (Porchia and Sapphira) and the most amazing bunch of guys and girls in the tv production crew.

I really thought that fights lived up (every inch) to expectations. Stand out performances for me were Jordan Watson, Dean James, Damien Trainor, Dixie and of course 'The Hitman'.

On the subject of Liam, that young man is an inspiration to anyone who will ever lace up gloves. What he did to Anuwat on Saturday night was incredible, he took it to him, battered him AND outpointed him, he was sensational and that was the best performance I've seen of his to date.
Of course his level of skill is up there with the best of thailand and he has a natural power that you don't see often but above all else...it is his mental toughness that just keeps on surprising me.
I spoke to him after the fight and I asked "Are you sore mate" He said "Yeah, my leg is smarting a bit but I REFUSE to limp because tonight was the biggest night of my life"

I'm sorry this post has turned into a bit of an "I love Liam Harrison" post but I'm sure everyone in that arena on Saturady are as proud of him as I am. He deserves all the accolades, his opponent was a legend, a champion across FIVE different weight categories and a CURRENT Rajadamnern champion.
OK, Liam rant over, lol.

I was gutted for Andy but at the same time pleased for Dean who is a lovely guy. He fought the perfect fight to take on someone as MENTAL as Andy. At one moment in either R3 or R4 we saw a glimpse of the Lord of War when he looked Dean in the eye, smacked himself on the chin and gave it a "COME ON!", Dean wouldn't get drawn into anything daft and responded with a cracking teep and moved off. At that point I thought Andy was gonna have a hard time getting inside. Dean was excellent though, all cedit to him.

Dixie dismantled Bovy, utterly dismantled him, nothing much more can be said of that fight. He gave Bovy a proper bleeching, he was awesome, totally awesome and a cracking bloke as well.

DT was classy, had an answer for EVERYTHING the Thai had but he responded to everything with more power and ferocity. Damien is a cracking guy too and I love that my job lets me meet souch sound people.

I've just read this back and I'm sorry it's so long, I could go on and on but instead I'll surmise with what still has me smiling the most and that is...The bond that is forming amongst the MSA team.

Dan Green, Laura, Master Sken, Kay, Swee Lip, Fui Mee, Vinny, Rob, Big Pete & Lauren, Michael Howarth and myself. There's such a strong commitment from everyone to The MSA concept and already I can see that the whole team are prepared to work that bit harder, to help each other, to pull in the same direction and the end result is...well you saw it for yourselves, The Biggest and Best Muay Thai show in UK history and it already looks like the next one will top it again.

With Respect

(Ps, I hope Dan is going to sleep for a couple of days but I don't think he knows how to switch off...workaholic)
(Pps, a few people have posted on here and a couple have called or text me to say that I'd done my job well as MC. Thanks so much for the encouragement and I really hope I can give the shows the professionalism and panache that they deserve. I'll keep working on getting better and I'm going to hit the ground running on the next one, no settling in next time)

Wow - what a night.

Every fight was great, the show was amazing and it stands out as one of the best nights of my career so far which is saying something because there have been some good ones.

Thanks so much to Master Sken, Swee Lip, Fui Mee and Dan Green for putting it on the line to make this happen. As Liam says this is the best promotions team I've worked with and they are great people. This is the first time I've met Swee Lip and Fui Mee and they are really movely people who deserve all the credit and success in the world. The way Fui Mee put herself out to look after Liam after what was no doubt a very long hard day was really above and beyond and much appreciated.

Having worked with Master Sken for many years I can honestly say that Bad Company and Muay Thai in the UK as a whole wouldn't be where it is without some of the opportunities that he's given to our fighters and the risks and hard work that he's taken with his promotions.

This was a massive show at a massive venue. Not every seat was full true but it was still the biggest crowd that I’ve seen at a show by far.

I can't comment on each fight as this would be too long except to say that each fight was brilliant - testament to the fighters and trainers and how far Muay Thai has improved in the UK. Also testament to the matchmaking. I'd like to mention that 5 of the 10 fights involved fighters from Leeds which shows the level of talent of fighters and trainers in this area, especially when this is not an area that Muay Thai traditionally sprang from originally.

Jordan Watson v Gianlucca
Jordan was his usual classy relaxed dangerous self and totally dominated the fight from the first second. Unfortunately Jordan has an issue with gumshields and usually spits his out as the fight starts. The only shot that the Italian fighter actually landed was a spinning elbow that knocked 3 of Jordans front teeth out! I'm sure he has now learned his lesson about gum shields.
Because of this he was a bit flat in the second but then got mad with the guy for knocking his teeth out and decided to make him pay in the third where he totally destroyed him.

Buakaw will be a totally different class and Jordan will be ready! He will also wear a gum shield.

Andy Howson v Dean James
Great fight - Dean and Tony Myers are great guys and deserves this victory. Dean performed really well and him and Tony had come up with a great game plan which they stuck to and it worked. Congratulations to them.

Liam v Anuwat
What a fight. Liam won clearly but not easily. This was a very hard fight that shows Liams toughness, determination and bottle as well as his skill and power. He was amazing and I'm still buzzing.

We have learned a lot of lessons from previous fights (Numphon 1&2, Sarmsamut, Saenchai, Anuwat 1, Saggetdau - what a resume!) and this all came together on saturday. Liam has been knocking at the edge of the top level for a while but I feel that after saturday we have fine tuned his performance to push him up there and I reckon he'd beat any of them based on that.

It sounds corny but I love these guys like they're my own kids and feel everything for them when they win or lose. Well done and God Bless them and to everyone involved.

Wouldn't say it was corny at all Rich, I imagine the majority of trainers feel the same, whether at the level your boys are at or lets say a lesser level.

I have to echo the superlatives expressed by all those posting positive comments about a really outstanding show. Congratulations to all involved - those in the public eye and those playing an essential role in the background. I also concur with Richard, Dan, Swee Lip, Master Sken and everyone involved were very accommodating, amenable and professional. Brilliant show.

Even though only saw half of the show, there were numerous highlights including:

Damien versus Kaewklaaa Kaewsamrit:
Kaewklaaa looked like a school boy but kicked like a mule, had a great teep and an accurate and very hard straight right. He was excellent and pushed Damien to produce an outstanding performance to win. I was really pleased for Damien; he is a great fighter and thoroughly deserved the win. I have lost count of the number of fights of Damien’s I have refereed, and am always pleased when he wins against foreign opposition, it is particularly satisfying when that opponent is a ranked Thai and they make him use his considerable Thai skills. Very well done Damien and Steve.

Michael versus Bovy:
I was so pleased to see Michael using his brains as well as his usual tough and aggressive style against a monster of an opponent who breathed bad intentions. Michael not only scored well but also showed enormous courage to weather the storm that was Bovy, who was perpetually advancing throwing bombs. Some really well timed body kicks from Michael and a beautiful lean back elbow. Very well done Michael and Paul, the best performance I have seen from him to date.

Liam versus Anuwat:
What a performance from Liam, showing skill, power and courage all at once. Both fighters were dangerous from start to finish which added to the electricity in this bout. In the end Liam got his sweet revenge against a legend in the sport; tough, very hard hitting and really experienced. I was over the moon for Liam, he looked so happy and his elation was totally infectious. Very well done Liam and Richard; just outstanding.

Dean versus Andy:
I am really proud of Dean, he is not only a dream to coach and teach- constantly looking to learn and improve- but is also a really great person and very grounded. This fight was always going to be a great fight in my book - both fighters have excellent skills and loads of courage. On the night, I thought Dean performed superbly, using clinical, precise techniques delivered with perfect timing. Andy skilfully countered Dean’s knees in the clinch and remained dangerous throughout; to pull out the win Dean had to maintain real focus through all five rounds. This was a very hard fight for Dean, not only is Andy a great fighter excellently schooled by Richard, has real battle experience and courage, but both Dean and I consider him to be a friend. No sign of being mates in the fight though and I predict this will be the first of a series of great fights between these two. Dean is improving constantly and Andy will be looking for revenge in the future. Andy was magnanimous in defeat, for me the mark of a great fighter. Good luck in LA Andy.

Richard, you should be very proud of your fighters and what you have achieved. I think it is almost essential to have those feelings and emotional attachment to those you coach to develop world class fighters of the calibre you have. I agree with Graeme, not corny at all mate.

Ring Girl Carrying the Dutch flag for Thrasher's opponent, Hedsey.

I really hope he's okay, by the way. Absolute kudos for him taking the fight against Thrasher at the last minute and he got sent home with a gashed eye a jaw that was broken in two places and swallowed two teeth. That just goes to show how hard Andy hits, but nobody likes to see anybody seriously hurt and I guess I can pass on my best wishes from everybody at GFC to Hedsey to get well soon!

Just another quick note to say how much I enjoyed the show - I can't really do any more than echo the sentiments of others. The production was spot on, everybody at MSA is really nice and great to work with and the fighters were all awesome and made my job of photographing them almost too easy by being so awesome!

Thank you for letting me be a small part in this.

This being Muay Thai.

I love it!

wow it is great to hear the encouragment from team to team in England, no negetivity or jelousy and seems the muay thai community over there is something the rest of the world could follow.

Only when people put there personal ego's, issues and dislikes away from camp to camp will we have a unified muay thai community that only wants what is best for the sport of muay thai and it's athletes....that is to fight great fights, have competiton that isn't one sided, judging, refereeing etc and see great athletes perform, it is so encouraging to read these posts, to see the pictures of these great fighters and actually read their posts and how humble they are and to know that our sport is headed in the right direction, it is what seperates muay thai from every other sport and that is the class between athletes and how much respect is shown for each other.

Congratulations England and keep doing what you are doing, it can only get better!!!

Great show, well done to the MSA team and all the fighters! MSA done a great job with the event, so many good things about it, the only dissappointment is that their wasn't a massive crowd to merit it, but still enough to create a great event, hopefully it will continue to build!

Some great performances from the likes of Dicks, Trainor, Deano and Watson, but the man of the night was Liam! Amazing performance, TBH I was nervous for him before the fight and rightly so, as it looked like the hardest I've seen him getting pushed in a fight, he really had to dig deep in the end, however in terms of winning the fight, I thought the won quite clearly in the end! Only slight criticism was the crowd, don't know if its because people are jealous of Liam or or just the culture or what, but I couldn't hear anyone around us shouting on him until the last round. Myself and Tommy Young were screaming our heads off and the only other shouts I could hear were from the corner and Liams supports in the tiered seating. Maybe just me, but would have been even better if everyone really got behind the fighters, it would create an even better event.

Anyway, well done again, can't wait till May!

It makes me very proud to be British looking at the results.

How great that British Muay Thai is up there with (and beating) the best in the world.

A massive well done to Dean "Black Diamond" James,I never thought you two would fight but I was always sure you would win if you did!
Dean for all who know him is genuinely one of the nicest guys in the sport and i do not think he even knows what an ego is nevermind having one....well done Mr Myers on a great plan for Dean....both long and short term.

Now here is something you don't often here on here......

I was wrong!

I think over the years i have had some issues with the bad co boys (personal not with them ) and I feel it came down to jealousy in the end.

i saw lads enjoying the sport so much and becoming big stars and I think i tried to play it of as "self promotion gone mad" and that they were "average fighters with big mouths big ego's and that they have had more chances than others"

I am sorry but it was my honest oppinion and it is horrible and i am ashamed of it.

i have recently become a Muslim and it has made me look at things a lot differently.

i must admit before i was jealous,I was bitter my career had been hampered so much by injury/illness etc and I held resentment to people who did not deserve it.....to the point of me leaving a gym i loved purely because i was jealous of the younger fitter fighters.

(wow what a terrible admition i am ashamed)

As I say i am a different person now and I am truly sorry for having those feelings towards the bad company guys and also to you Liam Robinson who I saw progressing as i was ill and injured and on the way down....lets face it!

But to now.

Liam Harrison and Andy you are fantastic fighters and a real inspiration, you are more than living up to the hype.....you are true champions.

Assalamalaikum Brother Richard.
Well done to the statement above. I respect you now even more for your admission.
People always fall out on AX and in MT/KB in general.
I must admit that I didnt get on with some people in MT (on here LOL) purely because they didnt like my posts and i didnt like theirs!!!

Now there were 2 I used to find really annoying (and im sure they found me annoying too).
I used to find Liam Robinson terribly annoying and i didnt like Andy Howson's "attitude" (on here for whatever it means).

Now i finally met Andy Howson person when he came to my show, and he is one of the most polite people youll meet.Every show he sees me he stops for a chat , shakes hands with me and asks how i am. Cant ask for more than that.

Liam Robinson used to annoy me on here and get involved in all kinds of silly arguments siding with people in the "drama days" of AX. But I must say Liam supported my show, his guys were dead professional and his fighter Mason won my AFK-1 tournament beating my fighter in the finals!

So full respect to boh Liam R and Andy H and also to you yourself K4C.

Its all about young lads enjoying the sport so lets not spoil everyones enjoyment just because we dont like what someone writes on a forum.

Im a white irish catholic and i still think theyre all talentless gob shites and im not jealous! Ha Ha

To be fair i agree its easy to get caught up in the envy trap and letting the green monster eat at you dignity and self esteem. It takes a lot to look deep inside and recognise your failings. Be it through a religious reformation or simply a self diagnosis to improve your self and how youre seen in the eyes of others.

Truth is the boys are enjoying their careers and they deserve the credit. Win lose or draw they fly the flag and love the sport.

It was a privaledge watching all the fighters on Saturday.....

I can also remember meeting Michael in Newcastle a good few years ago when he was just out of the juniors....i was fighting on the show and it was one of his first title fights......amazing he has beaten Bovy!!!

Just amazing...great dedication and great coaching.

I would like to say a big well done to Imran too....

King of the beard!

I would like to say also well done to Keiron(no longer the boy" keddle who has been fighting at top level for a very long time now....i know he does not win very often but i feel it is great testament to him that he continues to pick the best opponents in the world to test himself against rather than pick up wins from less experienced opponents...good for you!

Really pleased everyone had such a great time at the show and all the fighters performed so well. Not going to single out any one individual as I haven't seen any of it yet so would be silly but suffice to say everyone did themselves, their gyms and the sport proud. It really is exciting times we are living through at the moment and next up is the Excel in May and then Birmingham in Sept!!! plus all the other great shows in between from rumble in the reebok to all the smaller local shows the likes of which no one would be able to get started without. Also what a statement from K4C, a really brave and genuine move. Takes a bigger man to admit he's wrong so well done mate!!! Also anyone noticed how this thread hasn't descended into tit for tat arguments like so many others.... there's a lot of love in British Muay Thai right now!!!

What camera and lens are you using? I just bought a canon 50mm prime f1.8 II lens for my EOS 400D based upon a recommendation from Adam (fightshop). I tried it at a sparring session last week and got some quite good pics but just need to get used to it.

What are you using?

basil the fox got to be some of the best fight pics ive ever seen whether it boxing mt or cage fighting some of these are excellent the pic of the guy hedsey? with dreads siting on the canvas is amazing so much tension and ferocity in that shot is quality i dont wan to sound like some artistic knob but it really captures the emotion of fighting in my eyes and some of the timing on other photos is brilliant i love the bovy one where hes just taking the kick so nonchalantly aswell

also its got to be said that bad company must be one of the top gyms in the world now including gyms in thailand. liam is established as one of the best mt fighters in the world now without a doubt there is not one thai that could have an easy fight against him and on a good day could beat any of them. also in my opinion jordan has the same potential as liam just less the experiance but i really would bet on him beating buakaw. both are amazing and you will never see a bigger heart than that of andy howsons he is a warrior in every sense of the word and the crowd love him just as they do bovy win lose or draw he is a legend in his own right.

i really think that in my modest and somewhat naive opinion, including thailand there is not a stable of fighters that is as exciting as bad company. can anybody disagree with that?

also k4c that was a good thing to say and from reading this forum i think you are not the only one tha has been less than praising of some of the bad co boys but what you say is right they have earnt every bit of there pride and have backed it up by fighting all comers x

A note from Fui Mee

This week has been amazing! We, at MSA, have been so encouraged by your enthusiastic feedback of our show at the MEN Arena on Saturday. The hard work was all worth it to see the fantastic fights that night and the crowd enjoying, not only the agility and showmanship on display, but the great production surrounding it all.

We have been touched by the comments on this forum and numerous emails and texts we have received from so many of you – fighters, coaches, other promoters…. People have commented on how great it has been to see rivalries and politics set aside. This is so important as we, as a whole Muay Thai community, grow this great sport together in the UK. Over the past few months we have had the pleasure of getting to know many of you - at our media training days, at the Sport Relief Mile events and indeed this past weekend and have been impressed by such a fantastic bunch of warm people.

Swee Lip and I would like to thank all those involved. There are too many of you to mention all by name – the whole production and support team, those in the Public eye and all those behind the scenes, the fighters, coaches and gym owners…Thanks for your great attitude and the hard work you put into making our first big arena show such an enjoyable evening. Thanks to Grandmaster Sken for your support throughout - even missing a large part of the show to help sort out gum shields! We value your input and friendship. Pete and Michael - thanks for your great photos and enabling us to relive the action.

You will be able to enjoy more of the fights when the show is screened on Sky Sports probably in May. The DVD will be released just after that. Keep an eye on www.msapremier.com for further details.

Finally, a big thanks to Dan Green and Laura Doyle for organising the whole MEN event. Laura has worked with Swee Lip and I for close to 11 years and is a trusted colleague who is relishing her role working on these shows. Dan, no stranger to you, joined MSA last November having gained much experience throughout the UK promoting his shows. We wanted to take Muay Thai promotion to the next level and we are delighted Dan, that this your first Supershow with us, has been such a success.

To the fans of Muay Thai thanks for your ongoing support. We need this if we, as a community, want to raise the profile of the sport we love. Look forward to seeing you at ExCel London 29 May!

Thank You All

Just a quick one - all of my pictures from the first MSA show at the Reebok stadium are now on the MSA website, as well - I know most of you didn't get to see all of those, but there's some nice shots from there, too.
