Predictions....

A cracking weekend of shows!

Good luck to Pele & Tricia.

I imagine that you have worked very hard on this promotion, and knowing only too well how hard organising an International event is, I am sure that everyone wishes you the very best.

Good luck to everyone.

Yeah it does look like it's going to be a very good show, christian probably won't do anything until rnd 3 thats when the beast is unleashed lol, and abit biased but i think helene will win hopefully by ko. Thrasher will win by ko aswell. x
Briancal
Posted: 2005-11-17 03:47:54
I'm not Baz in the least, I saw his fight at Sken's and he was brilliant. I'm just giving my opinion. Don't underestimate Guy Ramsay.
Briancal
Posted: 2005-11-17 03:49:39
Sarah how can you possibly predict that Andy Thrasher will win by KO ??? Have you ever saw Guy Ramsay fight??? And if not then that is a silly prediction.
Baz Faulty
Posted: 2005-11-17 04:21:18
should be a good fight same I can't get down to see it. still woverhampton the day after should make up for it
Sarah Walker
Posted: 2005-11-17 04:21:49
Brian, I have never seen guy ramsey fight, true it is quite a silly prediction, however i have seen andy fight and he was a very quick and strong fighter every fight he has had, that i have seen, he has won. Guy might be an excellent fighter but i have never heard of him or seen him fight, so im going to go with thrasher x
Briancal
Posted: 2005-11-17 04:29:05
No probs Sarah, although I still disagree with you're KO prediction seeing as you know nothing about Guy, lol. It will be a great fight, and as I have said Andy Thrasher was brilliant the last time I saw him at Sken's.
Sarah Walker

weigh in seemed to go okay, didn't see it all as I am to think to try ALL the doors that lead to Pele's gym.

From what I remember;

Thrasher 2 and a bit kg heavier than Guy, to which Guy just laughed, Guy at 64.5 for a fight matched at 67, but god is that lad ripped, I thought Cadden was bad!

Ashley 5kg heavier than the Thai, the thai looked a little "bemused" at the size of Ashley

Liam 1 Kg heavier than Paul, who looked cut!

nothing between Richard Jones and Jason Richards, last seen eating a plate of chips from the Chippy across the road from Pele's!

Don't know about the rest.

See you's all tomorrow

To are surprise the Thai came in at 60kg and Ashley weighed in at 64.5kg.
The fight was matched at 65kg. And the Thai people knew the weight.

Liam came in 0.8 KG heavier than bates, the Thai hadnt eaten all day because Tony and Pimu had gone to Wales and no-one could find him any food so to be fair he would be quite a bit heavier.

Good Show and quite a few stoppages and Peles lot put themselves up against harder opponents in the exp stakes, fair play to him and all the fighters, and 2 fighters stepping up at 1 days notice, a lad from peles and the Scottish lady age 42 making her debut....... *wow *

dazzathethai
Posted: 2005-11-20 03:28:28
Chrisitan stole the show for me. He's one of those lads, the worst thing you can do is hit him! The Italian was no mug but the more he tried the more Christian turned up the heat!
noi666
Posted: 2005-11-20 04:44:29
Michelle didnt fight as she twisted her ankle at the start of the week. She could hardly move to shadow-box or padwork, she couldnt even get out and do her road-work to loose the last few pounds so Master A pulled her out.

I have to agree with Dazza, Christian was awesome.
80kgs of ripped monster!!!!
Whenever the italian hit Christian, he had little effect and just seemed to pi$$ him off. The italian stepped up and started throwing elbows ....so Chrsitian showed him how it was done and elbowed his face off. Finished the fight with a sweet elbow cracking across the Italians cheekbone....I heard the crack from the other side of the hall!!!!

The italians were tough and game for the fight. Both of them tried to put on a show by doing jumping kicks, jumping punches and some spinning kicks but none of this phased the experienced english guys.

Great measured performance from Fash stalking his guy down using left leg and big left punch. Dropped his opponent for an 8-count in the 4th with a stinging body shot.

The thai was very good and had great technique. Some good trades between ash and the thai but the thai just seemed to have that little bit extra every time. Landed with some strong push kicks, body kicks and jump knees.

Well done to Pele and Tricia for putting on a great show. Well done to all the fighters for some great fights.

PS Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my resent win!
Neil Holden

A well run, professional show. A credit to the sport - thanks to Pele/Tricia.

Interesting to note, as I have been involved with the Amateur scene a lot recently. 3 of the openning contests featured people who had competed as Amateurs before turning Professional through A.K.A. events - similar to boxing.

paul bates was also awseome against liam robinson,
Graig from peles was unlucky in a good early fight.

I didn't get to see all of the fights but I have to agree with Richard, it was a very very good show. Some really exciting fights and Sandy surpassed himself with his new hair style!! Some great displays of both technique and of raw power. Christian looked very strong, far too much power for the Italian and finished with a strong elbow, Fash put in a very good performance against the other Italian, gradually breaking him down with some big kicks, Andy (thrasher)caught a brave Guy (Ramsey) with a very well timed elbow and generally looked very strong. I have mixed feelings about Paul (Bates) and Liam's (Robinson)fight. I have known Paul for many years and I was happy he had a win again before retiring, to top off a really great career. However, I'd would just rather he had beaten someone other than a boxer who I coach. Liam could have won, he has very good technique but needs to belive in himself more. A number of Pele's lads who lost were fighting well before getting stopped. Richard (Jones) was fighting the best I had seen him fight technically against a very sharp looking Jason. However, I really feel that Richard should stop fighting now, he has been knocked out too many times too easily for me. Young Heard the girls fight was very good but didn't see it. I loved the fight with Ashley and Suban. Ashley is technically very good and he did manage to catch Suban with some body kicks. It was even going into the third but Suban pulled away after that; a very, very clever fighter. Great show well done Trica and Pele...I have slapped Mr Weston for you BTW Trica...but he enjoyed it!

I agree with all that's been said before, great show. I've just looked at my pictures properly for the first time and I've got some absolute stonkers. I'll sort through them all tomorrow and get some posted up on here from all the fights.

By the way, Tony, I've still got your voice ringing in my head from that fifth round of Liam's; "ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!" Good fight, but Liam seemed to want to wait for the openings rather than make some for himself.

Congrats to all involved.

Well done to everybody, they put a really really great show, the pete and dip fight was a good match, and helene was really matched well with the scottish fighter, she was very strong but didn't really take too well to helene's kicks, she was a good boxer though. The guy and andy was a cracker really good. And christian, well what can you say put on an excellent fight as usual, i think the italian stopped in the nick of time,i really did think the thai and ashley fight was excellent the thai was really good, he was faster and did more techniques whereas ashley looked stronger and if he landed a few of the hooks mayb would have knocked him down. i cant speak today lol lost my voice, and i was disappointed didn't see any Axer's there except 4 richard cadden. x

i had him in the 3rd and didnt press the 4th and 5th so i didnt deserve it but i know i can do it and ive learnt a valuable lesson and at my 8th fight i think a good lesson 2 learn. If id have fought novicey people it would have taken me a lot longer to learn so im very happy with the choice off opponents by my camp. Yes Mr H my nose got bust and was a bit on the side but the doc gave it a quick yank after and its quite straight now. She's female and quite fit before anyone starts saying i got yanked off by a geezer. Westlife is the only gay in our muay thai village. thanks for everyone who wished me luck and for tony and rich's help in the corner and leading up to it,sorry it couldnt pull it out of the bag this time but i wont make the same mistake twice.

These are just a small sample of the pictures I took all night, all two hundred and forty pictures are on Pele's website for you to look at now: http://www.peles-gym.com/shows.htm

If anybody wants photographic prints of any of the pictures in the gallery, then please e-mail me. I can get excellent quality enlargements which do more justice to the pictures than what you see on the computer screen. To compare, here's an image that has been reduced in size so that it'll fit nicely on your computer monitor:

...and here's a section of that image at 50% of the original size - see the difference?

On the "Shows" page, click on the text that reads "To see all the action from the fights, click here". If it's not showing up, try pressing F5 on your keyboard to refresh the page. Failing that, here's a direct link: http://www.peles-gym.com/images/galleries/beastmasterfights191105/index.htm

good fights i thought. saw the fights on video today and there are some top fighters that were on show, thrasher, di paulo, guishard, fash. Pete menga gets an accidental knock to his head from his opponents head which dazed him and he looked completely out for a few seconds. Thrasher is brilliant. also like to point out that jones didnt get knocked out(i thought he did also at first) but i had to take him to the eye hospital he got a burst blood vessels in n his pupil and cudnt see anything so thats why he stayd down,Thought he looked best hes been im sure he will be back and would like to see him fight richards again, richards didnt look comfortable in the ring with him. lisa beeley can punch hard she improving all the time.

RE Richard Jones

I noticed that in the fight before he actually went down, he took a punch or a knock to his eye and he imediately winced and started trying to rub his eye, I thought it was the tape or something from Jason's glove which had accidentally caught him at first, but Richard seemed initially to recompose himself and get back into it. When he did go down, which was right in front of me, he did look dazed as if he'd been knocked out, but he was speaking clearly telling the doctors that he just couldn't see at all in that eye. It was looking like a close fight before that.

RE Pictures

Thanks again for all the kind comments about my pictures, it's fun being down there seeing all the fights from the best possible vantage point. I'm hoping to do more shows in the future, if you lot will have me. Tricia, I got your text, but I think my phone's playing up and I only got the first part, I'll reply as soon as I get the next bit, they usually turn up the next day at the very least.
