Different areas of britain seem to work under different bodies so the opinions will vary greatly between regions i think . So on that theory ill opt for WAKO Pro and ISKA being well up there .. I would say "in may experience" the bottom would be WKA , im not knocking any fighter who holds WKA titles , as has been said on here before the fighter makes the title , im simply going on my personal dealings with them .

cheers Dale lol

We always use Paul Hennesey and have only good things to say about his dealing, but we will fight with any organisation that approach us!

A lot of the WKA shows do seem to have a light on semi-contact fighters fighting full-contact witch often looks very poor!

The truth is thers too many of them. Kickboxing will never get out of the gutters if we dont do anything about it. Theres already so many to chose from everyman and his dog now have a title there so easy to get a hold of these days. And theres always another organisation to add to the list ther are new ones comeing up all the time. For kickboxing to get to grips and get out of the gutters no more than 3 organisations would be ideal.

However back to the best and worst.
ISKA WAKO Pro IKF and WKN seem to be the main ones. Ive heard many good things about the WKN and the irish seem to hav toook hold of this organisation.
WUMA however ive herd many bad things about this 1 and believe this myself to be a very poor organisation.

Hopefully one day we will get FC kickboxing as big as the other sports (on prime time TV etc but no one is guna bother touching kickboxing with all these organiastions at hand they will get too confused which world champion to choose from

Theres too many who agrees?

i have taken fighters onto most of the above organisations sanctioned shows in the past. I think that shawn touched on a good point when he said that it is more to do with how professional the promotor is and how good a job he has done on the night than which body sanctioned show.

dany,

if you think internationaly without any doubt: "WAKO-PRO"...

wka seems not to be strong enough and wkn seems to be that it has lost it's high speed it showed especialy within 2004...

Hi guys.
Just got back from cyprus Meetings concerning future shows full and low kick.
As this threads about best body i as all will have their favourites ..And likes been said earlier in this thead any show is only as good as the promoters and gyms takeing part ie turning up on time good runners getting fighters out on time.

As i see it its a whole package get the whole package write and thats a good show.As shaun burtons about take a look at the governing body you are fighting for the european full contact title.ive finalized the deal in cyprus this week check out w.f.k. kickboxing dean sugdens show kelham hall nov 18th this governing body speaks for itself poster of show kelham hall is on their site.check out their champions and shows.

I represent this governing body in the uk and will be speaking to trainers and fighters about fighting on future efk and wfk shows here in the uk and world wide.

And not like many bodys if you fight for your country all exspences are paid . One of my lads made the england squad only to find out he had to find £400 to go and fight.

To me thats wrong we take teams around the world within the efk and wfk and all exspences are paid flights transfers 5 star accomadation.Thats how it should be.But in the uk all the governing bodys that ive been part of over many years previous to now you have to find the money.

Thats a good point dell. Adds a little bit more professionalism and respect to the fighters.
Jamie Bates
Posted: 2006-11-01 15:03:39
There are good organisations these days the EKF and WKF that dell is involved with seem to do the job properly and treat the fighters well which is what we need.

however do titles mean much these days when there is soo many versions i can think of
IKF
WKN
WKA
WKO
WUMA
EKTC
WAKO pro
ISKA
WKBC
EKF
WKF
WKMA/BIKMA
WFKKO/BFKKO
WKU
FIST

I dont mean to offend any organiasatin but there is too many

Does nobody else find it frightening that we could have 15 different british champions or 15 different fighters holding a title at the same time.

you could end up being 20 times world champion hahahahahahaha

Its seems worthless to even bother with a title these days they dont really mean that much.

Does anyone angree with me that somthine has to be done about all these organisations????????????????????????????????????

Hi jamie,
Well kickboxing has more than its share of organizations. And thats why kickboxing will never be an olympic sport,To many fingers in the kickboxing pie.But the way i see it and look at it is 1 whats in this organization for me and my students.Thats what i look for and i agree with what you say how many champions with all the diferent orgs there is.
Everyone has their favourites and will support that favourite for one reason or another ie holds a title of said org.
I HAVE NEVER PUT ALL MY EGGS IN ONE BASKET,so i have fought on any orgaizations show just to get fights for my fighters.here supporting the promoter and getting my fighter what he wants fights.I will continue to do this support my fellow friends ..promoters what ever sanction body it is.BUT as i stated earlier in this thread i will be pushing the EFK AND WKF WITH A VENGANCE HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE UK.Ihave been in martial arts for over 40 years now and i want whats best for me and my fighters and that for me is support other shows get those fights for my lads.AND promote EFK AND WFK AS IN ALL MY TIME NO ORGANIZATION HAS EVER GIVEN WHAT THEY GIVE TO ME AND MY FIGHTERS.

Well....undoubtedly there are too many sanctioning bodies, however how many of them are regarded as 'proper' titles. To me ISKA, WKA and WAKO Pro are the real titles. Some say that even 3 sanctioning bodies is too many, however I disagree. If there were only one champion at each weight, then many deserving fighters would never get their shot at a title as the champion would simply have too many challengers for everyone to get a chance. As for kickboxing becoming an olympic sport, the people who seem to be most concerned with this are already fighting pro, and so as with boxing they would surely not be eligible to compete?

To Jamie,
I hold 2 WUMA ring titles and a few WUMA mat titles and I go to attend the WUMA World Championships next week in Malta.
This is defo not a poor organisation and is run extremely well.
I also hold a few FIST titles in both Thai and Kick gaining my first when I was bout 8 so no it is not a new organisation, and I can actually say these have been some of the best matched titles I have gone for.
I even have an EKTC one and would never any because I have put the same amount of training in to each one and the fought the same kind of fight for each one.
I hope to also soon join Dell in going for EFK or WFK titles.lol.

Yes the fighter makes the title, like the fighter makes the fight, I find it extremely hard to get matched, so fight for whoever offers me the fights, it does not effect my ability or commitment, I need to fight so will carry on fighting under different organisations if that is what it takes.

No offence m8 am not trying to take the titles you have in WUMA away from you but stories ive heard its a preety poor organisation. Was it Any Burton who faught somebody from down the country for a world title who no1 had heard of with fights like that under there belt it says alot. No offence mate but i disagree. I am not takeing this from personal oppinions but from other respected martial artsits sorry. Ive never herd of FIST i just thought it was new.

I've fought for the IKF, KICK, IKKC, ISKA, and USKBA. Out of them all the IKF has been the best by a mile. The presentation and the competition is second to none! Once you compete for the IKF you become a ranked fighter and you can check your standings daily. I never heard anything back from the ISKA or IKKC. KICK gave me a patch to put on my shirt and while the USKBA keeps telling me that they will enter me in their databae it hasn't happened yet. I'll fight for anyone but the IKF seems to care more for it's fighters.

There are all kinds of organizations out there with all kinds of letters making up a lot of hype.

Letters are easy to make up, most of have seen this for years now. However, which organizations are working for the fighters? Giving them the exposure they DESERVE?

Really now... WHO is working for "YOU?!"
The Fighters
Trainers
Promoters
Officials

What are these other organizations doing for "YOU?"

Who is placing contact info on their sites with "YOUR" name so that ANY promoter of ANY Sanctioning body can locate you as a fighter, trainer, even promoter?

Heck, we list EVERY Promoters contact information on our events page so that eager fighters can contact them;

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/Upcevents.htm

Where can you go to see the fight records, age, weight, height etc. etc. of fighters around the world? This should be EASY for all organizations yet only one does it. The IKF.

What about past Champions? Who remembers these many GREAT fighters after they retire? WHO will remember them? Can anyone here name all the past WKA, ISKA or WAKO Champions? Of course not. However, it's easy to name all the past as well as CURRENT IKF Champions because they are on the IKF website. See for yourself at the past IKF Champions page:

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/pastchamps.htm

And all current IKF champions "AMATEUR" and Pro are all listed in the IKF Rankings;

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/IKFRankings.htm

Yes, we are tooting the IKF Horn here, but really now, WHY don't we see this work from the other organizations? Why don't they do more for the sport than collect a sanctioning fee?

Again, it's EASY to create what one may want to call a sanctioning body, an association etc. etc, but how many put in the work day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year? Speaking of years, the IKF has ALL the past news stored on our past news pages too:

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/NewsPast.htm

All this explains why the IKF web Site has the highest traffic rating out of all the Sanctioning body sites too. To verify this, go here;

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/KBWebTraffic.htm

Or, simply type in KICKBOXING into any search engine and see where the IKF site comes up.

The IKF even has a message board for people to speak their minds:

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com/wwwboard

There are THOUSANDS of pages on the IKF site LOADED with news and information about kickboxing. But don't take our word for it, see for yourself:

http://www.ikfkickboxing.com

And when comparing Organizations, ignore the hype of the letters, look to see who is doing what for "YOU!" Our goal at the IKF is to not just sanction and regulate the sport, but to bring recognition to those in the sport. THIS is what helps our sport grow.

At the end of the day, honor and integrity are all each of us have. These are valued points of the IKF, and more so, valued parts of what the IKF is all about. Go here to read more:

Sincerely
IKF Kickboxing
