Topic:Ricky Hatton Is A Sell Out Of A Person

How can some self proclaimed champion of the people and 'true blue' Man City fan allow himself to sit in the Man U coaching seats, with Rio Ferdinand, for the Manc derby?

First he has Rooney leading him into the ring with the belt, which I put down to a blip, an errot of judgement if you like, and now this!

The blokes a sell out, but no doubt he will say he hasn`t changed at all and still likes his darts and Guiness at his local.

Bollocks, bet they've not seen him there for years and he just goes to champagne and oyster bars now.

I`m disgusted.

Did he have a selection of rotten vegetables with him? Probably the best seat in the house for throwing them.

I didnt realise footy fans were this fanatical. When I supported rugby, I loved Cas but didnt mind going to watch a decent game at Rhino's.
Its the sport you love, isnt it?
Of course you have favourite teams, but I bet he didnt have to pay to go.... If you have friends who played for Man Utd, would you not go Phil? (even if it was free, with champers and caviar apperitiffs.... lol) :)

TBH I know one football fan who wont have a SHARP tv in his house as they used to sponsor Man Utd about 10yrs ago.... I thought this was more the exception rather than the rule.

His mam n dad own that local pub where he plays darts and drinks guiness, dont they?
phil
Posted: 2009-05-11 06:14:45
I don`t buy Sharp products either for exactly that reason!

You would be amazed at the furore caused with some fans when the colour red appeared in the lettering of the sponsors on Leeds shirts last season!

I would never go to Old Trafford to watch them if Leeds weren`t involved, and I ceratinly wouldnt be sitting alongside Old Red Nose et al.

The difference is we are not talking any club, its the fact he goes on about Man City who hate the scumbags as much as we do. Not like he was sat at Fulham with Roy Hodgson or something.

I'm with Noi on this one, whats wrong wih supporting a mate whatever team they play for. Did not realise football fans were so fanatical. To be fair with how football goes man u could swap half their players with man city's next month and who would you support then? Footballers are mercenaries anyway so fans loyalty is really only to the shirt/ground!! I understand they're institutions etc but surely it doesn't mean you can't like other players/teams while still having a favourite?? I admit though i find it hard to understand as ive never really followed football. In KB/MT and boxing you can like a fighter and you follow their career and if they fight another fighter you like you can respect both, guess its different when you follow a team and they change players all the time. Worrying when fans get so serious about the length of their allegiance though considering the violence linked to football as its this type of mentality that helps fuel it imo.

I used to supply a pub in Hyde, and apparently Hatton was a regular there. "Sheperds Call".
Appreciate City fans are prob the most loyal around, but lets be fair the derby was always a platform for city to "move up a gear".

Would like to see them win summat one day. (Maybe something for my Great great great Grandkids to see)!!

Mick, I understand your point but if you don`t have a strong allegiance to a team you couldn`t inderstand, especially when the team concerned is this one.

Christ, when Alan Smith moved from Leeds to Man U his parents had to leave their house in Rothwell because of death threats. Ridiculous yes, but loyalty runs very deep to some people.

There is a line that shouldn`t be crossed, unfortunately Ricky has definitely crossed it in this instance!

Ricky, lesson 1: On Derby day, DONT SIT NEXT TO THE FUCKIN RAG CAPTAIN!

Seriously, he can sit where he likes, its no big deal. Think hes earned the right by now. My family, my bird and a lot of my mates are united fans but thats just the way it goes. Cant blame em too much cos Hulme is more united turf than city. so i drink in united pubs and socialise with united fans, its either that or have no life at all, but no ones gonna tell me i dont love city more than the next man and i know for a fact Hatton's exactly the same. Footballs not about hating another club its about lovin YOUR club. He'd have gone down as an all time city legend if he'd had celebrated us scoring while sitting next to Rio (which he would have). He was there with his brother by the way in the united end whos a die hard rag. Im more worried about what we're doing than about who Hatton goes to games with. I see progress on the pitch and we're closer now than weve ever been, thats what matters most to me. so if he wants to be mates with a Grannny shagger and a camelmouth, let him get on with it i wont be losing any sleep over it. someone slagged him at work the other night for dropping blue moon from his ring walk. Jesus wept! why dont you have him down for terrorism and kiddy fiddlin whie youre at it. people havin a dig for havin a dig sake.

Ricky did have Blue Moon as his entrance, he was just in too much of a hurry to get to the ring that it started to kick in just as he was climbing through the ropes I think, or when he was already in there.

I am not overly fussed about football anymore. I used to be a season ticket holder for donkey years at Ibrox (Rangers), but when I started Thai in 2001 it quickly went on a back burner. I relised that Thai was going to be more important to me than watching overpaid, moaning, and half the time lazy ass footballers.

I did get to the stage of the strips, and other merchandise, and anything I ever bought could in no way be ever associated with THEM (Celtic)......but then again alot of my family were bead rattlers so.....who cares????

It annoys me that players at the majority of the top teams get scandalous wages every week, but half the time can't be arsed. If they have a shit game, or games then they have 10 other players that can cover their arse, but when you have two fighters in the ring whether that be Boxing or Thai, then if one has a bad day - they are fucked - simple as.

Although with the Hatton situation, a City fan sitting in the dugout of United then that's just not chocolate. It wouldn't be as bad if he was in a United box to view the game.

Wonder what reception he'll get next time he is at City???

Your opinion MDK. He would be disowned by most Leeds fans if he was one of our own.

The goons that are so fanatical about football pay for the overpaid goons on the field

I like this quote

So, Abby Clancey what is it you see in the millionaire footballer Peter Crouch? If he wasn't a footballer she wouldn't look twice! That goes for Colleen as well

Rooney shags a prozzi and she leaves him! She soon got a reality check and forgave him! Bollox! She saw the $$$$'s They would all be BIN men if they didn't play football and people just idolize them. It's a said state of affairs when we look up to people who kick around a balloon with leather on it (No not Sandy! a football) haha

Better the players get 1/4 the amount they get now and more real fans can afford to actually go to a game!
phil

Nige, who said anything about idolising players?

Most of them are twats.

I`m fanatical about my team, not any individuals. Completely different kettle of fish.

I`d be with Leeds even if they were in the Unibond League, whereas as soon as a player leaves he is history, sometimes fondly remembered, sometimes now.

Not sure if this is true but,Cantona told the Mancs that his name was making them millions and he wanted a slice £750,000 ayear on top of his football wages,
which was comparatively low. Then Becks came along and it got the brand.
When Cantona was young all he did was practise,it was him who was dedicated to the sport and him who should get the money out of the brand.
Im sure Alan Sugar would disagree with me.

I like one of the earlier posts about Rooney bringing one of Ricky's belts out to the ring...didn't Liam and Noel Gallagher carry the other two belts into the ring for the same fight???

He was invited by Manchester United as a special guest to the Derby, as such sits in the Manchester United dugout (they invite him to THEIR stadium, they aint gonna let him sit in the away dugout!), so it's either accept that Ricky and watch City from pitch side or have your usual seat which is nowhere near as good! That being said, and Ricky to one side, I am surprised Fergie let him sit there, it's bad enough paying the players so much to play a game, but paying them that kind of money to sit chatting with a mate is a bit of a piss take?!

City fans say what you will, you would all soon jump back on his 'love gun' given the chance! If he was to box again, and came back and sparked Mayweather out (I know it will never happen, just an example!) everyone would suddenly worship him again, it's a two faced world we live in!

PS - GLORY GLORY MAN UNIIIIITED HAHA!!! (god I am gonna get some abuse
