I am appealing to peoples good nature on behalf of a very very dear friend!
Andy Olsen and his brother James, (James has Downs Syndrome and has managed to uphold regular training in his chosen sport for several years) have arranged to do a charity 100 rounds kickboxing sparring fund raiser in order to raise money for a very creditable charity. They are trying to raise £10,000 for the “Impact Young Heroes” charity (Charity number: 1122871). The charity was set up in 2005, with the aim of helping vulnerable young people living with cancer. The venue for this is the home of The Bradford Bulls Rugby League side, Odsal Stadium at Bradford, and it is to take place on the 15th of September 2009, tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately they have been let down with the kickboxing ring and despite attempts to secure a ring through another very good friend of mine who is abroad at the moment, time is running out.
So what I am appealing for is anyone who has a ring or even a training ring they could have available (Freebie) for tomorrow until say 8pm in the evening. Andy says he will even pick it up himself and return it if someone would be good enough to supply one?
This is for such a good cause and I am almost sure someone out there can help!! PLEASE!!
Contact myself by my email on my profile and I will pass you straight on to Andy.
I am so proud of James who is doing 25 of the 100 rounds, what a guy!!!!!
Thats was like fishing, waiting for over one hundred views........
Thanks to Professor David Terry of DEMAA Martial Arts Academy of Manchester, you are a true life saver. Dave does a lot of work with children and charitable causes and he has come forward with a ring which will now be in place for tommorows event.
I am sure I can speak on behalf of the two guys, let alone all the children they are about to help and send you a greart big thank you!
This is martial arts at its best...people working together!!!
It means a lot to me, your comments, but especially Dave as thats a mighty big thing he's done taking his own ring out of his gym for a period of time to help others.
Event Photo, Pete....ur a star!!!! see you there, great offer.
Andy n James are exstatic!!! They said thank you is not the word!!!
Also if any martial artist is near Bradford and you want to do 3 rounds for charity, Andy says 4 more people will do the trick. (Just mail me off my profiel and I will sort the rest!!
Event is 1-8pm at night, we can arrange your sparring slot to suit you!!
