unlucky jordan mate, was it a good fight?x
the fight was amazing, from were i was sitting jordan was very confident and shown how strong he can be, i rekon it was a close fight and he did have a chance of winning
To jump on the world circuit and fight the world number one in your first major international shows right balls, hard luck Jordan. Iv been sat at home waiting for this all night
Here, here. To have gone up against Buakaw shows that Jordan has the heart to go with his power and phenomenal technique.
Can't wait to see it.
Paulinthailand, same here mate, constantly refreshing the page lol, best wishes to Jordan and the Badco camp in the future, your a bright star and have a MASSIVE future ahead of you!
Jordan showed amazing heart, skills and timing as usual. Definitly on a path to great success.
Petrosian would be a good one next.
There was no doubt Buakow won but he certainly knew he was in a fight, Jordan can be proud of his performance thats for sure
Jordan was class the fight was great al put up some pics tmro n the full main event on YouTube

Never doubted Buakaw but hoped Jordan would do it.
Unlucky mate.

thanks for the results and pics... greatly appreciated
Fantastic photos. What weight was the fight matched at???
Jordon looks bigger than he was for the first two MSA shows.
Congrats to all involved on another great show.
By that last pic, it looks like Buakow didnt have the 'easy night' he thought he would. Jordan must have really pushed Buakow to get a reaction like that!
Well done mate.
Proud of ya! :)
Will Boyle: You dont want to know what kind of craziness Mr Smith has us doing for strength and conditioning work! :) LOL
Looks like another good night's work for KO gym.
Great show ,
Anna and Greg are so easy to train they are dedicated and focused and just get on with the job no fuss no drama !.
Polite , humble and respectful . I am proud of them
Jordan put in a outstnding performance .I did not realize how much he has progressed he looked awesome.
Tim TNT landed Three straight right hands like a machine gun.
Great Show Great Fights Great Atmosphere
Jordan Watson - You came of age it was an absolute pleasure to see you compete with the man.
1st round made everyone realise including Buakaw you are up there in his class.
You also came thru some heavy punishment which should you have a great heart. You came back stronger as result of the little set back and what a finish. It had everyone on their feet.
Timing and Skills were equal and I look forward to you doing it again with Buakaw or any of the other top guys.
22 - Scary you are only going to get better!
Respect
Dean
PS
Chad & Regis loved it
It was good to catch up with Mark and Michael Wakeling and shame for Michael that the fight did not continue as he looked to have adapted to the last minute change in opponent very well. But still a well earned and deserved win for Michael. Well Done!
thanks to msa for having me on the show, was a honor!!
yeah 1st time i lost.... felt i was controlling the fight until that point, just got complaisant... its a horrible feeling losing like that :)
thank you to john j and everyone coming to show support..
im going to eat a kfc :)
also, i got a wicked photo of buakaw swinging my broadsword with the kilt around him in the changing room... :)
How lucky am a got a picture with him woohoo
How lucky am a got a picture with him woohoo
Jordan Watson was so impressive. Fighting how he did against a legend like Buakaw just demonstrates his ability - World Class!
Immediately after the fight, as I and our crew of spectators where heading home, we stumbled across Jordan still wearing his gloves heading along the lobby area with Richard Smith. One of our guys took the opportunity to ask Jordan to autograph his program, which he duly obliged after shedding his right glove.
What a guy! Just gone 5-rounds with one of the best fighters in the world and still willing to sign programs for fans! I think Jordan will have to get to used to such requests in the future, he's definitely now a superstar! Pleased to have witnessed this coming of age. Inspirational.
All the best for what will be a very bright future.
More Buakaw pics, soon!
:o)
I'm in the process of uploading my own photos to Flickr. I was a few rows back on the tiered seats rather5 than ringside but still managed to get some good ones. Somehow I managed to take over 200 so it's taking a bit of time to get them up, but the Flickr set is at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhoulden/sets/72157624044334153/ but here's a couple as a sample:
(Andy, Liam and Jordan at the MSA stand at Seni beforehand)
(Glen Crosthwaite vs Chris Knowles)
(Bernice Aldiss being cornered)
(Bernice Aldiss vs Misty Sutherland)
They're uploading in the order they were taken so Jordan vs Buakaw will be uploaded last. As far as copyright goes I'll be releasing my photos under a creative commons licence which means anyone can use them for any purpose as long as they attribute them to me.
During Seni and the show I also bumped into Adam Crowther, and said a very quick hello to Bill Judd and Jesse Saunders.
Okay, here's a couple of candids from the Weigh-in and the fight night to whet your appetites...
Buakaw chats to commentator, Rob Cox.
Laura Doyle of MSA and Jordan chat about the show...

Thanks Adam, it was great to chat to you and Simon, yesterday!
I'm wondering whether to leave it 'til the morning for fight pics. I'm absolutely bushed here.
Howarth you GIT!
Did you have to put up the make-up pic, lol!
Cracking pics though bro!
Actually, I'm going add two completely self-indulgent pics to finish off with.
Here's me and Jordan at the weigh-in... Totally diamond bloke!!!
Here's me and Buakaw after the fight... I don't speak Thai at all, but he comes across as a really nice bloke in person and was soooo patient despite all the attention he received when anyone would think he'd love to just go back, chill out for a bit and get showered! Legend.
Ha ha... Dougie, I've got some other pictures I'm sure you'd much prefer to see. I'll get them sent on to you once I get the brown paper bag full of Scottish fivers delivered by Wednesday to my door! ;o)

The man, the legend... It's Royce Gracie.
Check out that guy in the background trying to hog the shot!!!
Ulucky son, trained with him in samui, watched him bigtime bust a guy's leg. fight lasted 4 secs
couldn't believe it when i seen royce gracie walking in behind us, i had to speak to him, the lads at the gym wouldnt have forgiven me otherwise ha! he said he was coming to watch Buakaw and was really excited, seemed a really sound bloke, he's a bit of a legend like!!!
I was sat next to Royce Gracie and it took me about an hour to figure out who it was lol I knew he looked familiar lol
Congrats to Jordan... took real guts..... you are a great fighter :)

Thanks, fair play to him. major Kudos to him.
Thats just great to go against a superstar such as Buakaw - and real well deserved.
I am just uploading a couple of old photos I found in Fighters June 2000 - so that people new to the sport can get a better understanding of what it takes to reach this level. Cant believe that over 10 years ago Jordan was fighting 5 x 2 mins in Thailand with no shinpads!
Hope no-one minds me uploading these old photos?

Your images might be a bit too big, mate... try and make them a little smaller for AX. If you reduce them down to about 640pixels in one of the dimensions that should work.
..........Proof of the puddin' in regards to the power in JW's kicks was as i saw Bukaw grimicing while hobbling off backstage clinging to his cornerman!!!
Top fight- loved it!!!!
I think Buakow turned his ankle when Jordan kicked out his standing leg

Awesome Piccys guys and thanks for the Info and results etc: and didnt make the show, and can anyone tell me how come Misty from Canada didnt fight? was they there tho?
and wow on Late step ins Awesome ! Ann etc:( seams the norm lately, like recent Rumble @ the reebok II with luke turner v kotsur )
and how many spectators did it get?
and who filmed it? / when showing? thankyou for info in advance

Visa problems from Canada ?!? I didn't think Canadians needed visas to come to the UK.
Visa problems from Canada ?!? I didn't think Canadians needed visas to come to the UK.
misty said that they were here fighting and getting paid which requires a work visa, which they didnt have
What a show!
Big thanks firstly to Dan, Laura, Swee Lip and Fui Mee for once again having me to present this event.
Buakaw has been something of an idol of mine so to meet and then introduce him was an honour and a priviledge.
When I started MC'ing 21 months ago, I would never have believed that in less than two years I'd be introducing the BIGGEST fight in UK Muay Thai history. I'm extremely grateful to everyone at 'Muay Thai Premier League' for the opportunity.
The UKMF officials were GREAT on Saturday night and having Louis there to help relay information between production, officials and promoters really helped keep the show running smoothly.
You've all already seen just a scattering of pictures above but I have to say that Michael (Basil the Fox) and Pete (Event Photography and Printing) make a sterling double act. Pete with his boundless enthusiasm, marketing, live updates and great shots, Michael with his superb timing and movement makes his action photography the best I've ever seen.
Jordan v Buakaw lived up to the hype and expectation (and in many peoples eyes I think Jordan may have surpassed expectations). I totally agree with Dan, the only other fight I've seen with such atmosphere was Liam v Saenchai.
Jordan was simply stunning on Saturday night, he gave Buakaw one hell of a fight. Jordan is a special talent and will no doubt be a big star on the international circuit. I think that mentally preparing for Buakaw in his first ever 'superfight' must have been the hardest thing he'll ever do. Knowing that he CAN trade with the best there is will give him so much confidence for future superfights. Souwer, Krauss, Masato etc look out!
What a night for KO gym too! Well done.
I'm becomming increasingly conscious of how big this post is and I could go on and on.
Again, big thanks to everyone involved and to all the spectators for making it such a memorable event.
I doubt we'll ever see Buakaw here again so for everyone who made it there on Saturday, enjoy the memories, I know I will!
With Respect
Dougie McAdam
Fight Sport MC
Dougie Dont forget October 16th where those 2 not so little warriors Chad & Regis do battle...
We want you and please email details we discussed soon as my friend.
Thanks

Sandy Holt writes:
"and how many spectators did it get?

I understand the event was very nearly a sellout (just short of 3,000 in that case).
I actually thought that there was a lot of empty seats at first this was due to:
A: A lot of people arrived late (mainly there to see Buakaw v Jordan)
B: Unfortunately, with the exception of ringside, there was no alcohol permitted in the arena. There were people constantly moving to and from the bar area etc. I think people would come in, watch their mate fight then go back to the bar until Jordan v Buakaw. The place seemed absolutely packed when the main event was being introduced and the amount of cameras held outstretched when Buakaw came out was like being at a Robbie Williams concert, lol.
It was filmed by Central Media (they did a cracking job, very slick)
As for a broadcast date, of course no-one has been informed yet. Sandy, try and check Ax from time to time (just if ever you're at your computer anyway) I'm sure there will be an announcement down the line!
Dean,
Thanks mate, I'll be in touch this week!
great photos, does anyone have the courage to write some fight reports?
I think that mentally preparing for Buakaw in his first ever 'superfight' must have been the hardest thing he'll ever do.
Dougie he seriosuly was not bothered at all...he was so excited about this fight cos he knows he can compete at that level, and now everyone else knows too, hes just a natural fighter....and Buakaw didnt go over on his ankle his leg was just mashed, as soo n as the final bell went he came straight over to me and said he couldnt believe how hard Jordan kicks and he had really hurt his leg with low kicks...only thing that pissed me off was English people in the crowd and sat by the ring cheering for Buakaw if he landed a big score or did sommat good????? what the fuck is that about, wheres the love and the patriotism?? well proud of jordan it was a great show and he shown he can fight with any fighter on the planet now.
win win fight for jordon, done himself and the uk proud. wish you all the best on that big stage. very well deserved.
nice words Dougie / Dan cheers ...sure Michale feels the same ..
And from two people at the top of there game " you cant get better than that "
upto today 17 publications worlwide ( electronic & paper ) will be using our photographs....great effort michael & and all our team..
cheers
pedro & the driving force lauren
Thats how it is Liam has been since i can remember. I'm a big Buakaw fan but England pride sets in and I want to see our lads do well. Jordan fought superb and never looked phased at any point. England used to have a real bad rep for Muay Thai when i was a kid but with the performances our lads are performing over the last few years we have to be near the top of the chart outside of Thailand?
Sawatdee Khrup!
That goes without saying Damien! You guys are at the top of your trade and with new talent already simmering below you. With great shows like the MSA & Rumble at the Reebok being aired on Sky, Bravo & P4TV a standard has been set and a torch lit that is now propelling us into a golden era for Muay Thai here in the UK.
To all the fighters, coaches/instructors,promoters, officials,MC'S,DJ's ring girls, silver service etc and of course the fans, let's keep up this enthusiasm for our great art/sport, let's keep up the high standard we are setting and have set.
Everyone will benefit from this and to make it last, let's not get on a 'feed frenzy' and end up being 'fat cats' let us keep lean and hungry so that we will continue to fight the best and be the best - Rant over!
SHAUN
'Believe.Achieve.Receive - Raise the B.A.R'
Jordan v Andy Souwer A class please, Jordan will handle.
Well done to the MSA team, was another great event! Jordan was brilliant, shame about the body shot at the end of the 3rd as I thought that changed the fight and meant Jordan had to go for it a bit! Have to agree about the lack of support though, I mentioned it when Liam was fighting at the MEN, its a shame the crowd don't really get behind their own, must surely be down to jealousy, as you can't help but like Jordan as a person, top lad! I realy hope this opens some big opportunities for him, as he deserves it!
My favourite part of the show was Tony giving Errol an 8 count whilst trying to help him pop his knee back in! He was a real warrior, it popped out whilst warming up and had fought 2 weeks previously, but was desperate for it to continue!
Liam i can understand what you're saying about people cheering every time Buakaw landed a good one, but many people would have travelled to that show just to see Buakaw , he s idolised by many many people. Even if it is the home crowd.
Seeing Buakaw fight FTR on a big show must be like seeing Michael Jackson doing the moonwalk, Pele playing football or watching Michael Jordan slamdunk. Even if you disliked any of the 3 I just mentioned, they have a certain something which makes everyone stand up and take notice.
First round Jordan made Buakaws legs give way 3 times and put him down twice as well and I cant remember *anyone* doing that to him, even in k1 max, total, he only ever got put down twice I think, once a KO(i know he s lost on points as well but you hardly ever saw him on his ass). I think Buakaw might have understimated him and had to move into a different gear from rd2 on and unleashed some big stuff in rd 3.
remember Jordan still has much good stuff in front of him!
LiamR i dont think Souwer fights full rules?
What a finish to an amazing show!!!
Highlights for me included:
Mike "Lightning McQueen" Egan surprising everyone with that superbly timed spinning elbow - he was behind on points, but still fighting hard and timed that to perfection - there were a few gasps when that landed. Amazing shot!
Wakeling living up to his reputation which was great to see; Wooton was superb against Panikos (who I'm a big fan of), and Tim "TNT" Thomas lived up to his name and showed that he really does have dynamite in those hands, it was great to see.
Obviously the main event was what most people had come to see and it didn't disappoint - I think with Jordan having to come back hard after his third round 8 count made the fight even more exiting! What an absolute superstar... quote of the day from me was from Liam during Jordan's fight sounding like a kid on Christmas day "I'm f**king loving this. It's amazin'!!!" You took the words right out of my mouth, mate. :o)
So anyway, you'll all want to see some more pictures, right?
Well, they're all on the MSA website now - go and have a look at them: http://www.msapremier.com/gallery-i-112.html
Can I just say a big thank you to the guys at MSA (Laura, Fui Mee and, of course, Swee Lip) for trusting me and inviting me along to shoot another amazing show... I love this job! Also to Dougie who's an absolute star, helping me out with the fighters and the ring girls to pose for their post fight shots. It makes my job so much easier with you around, mate. Thanks. :o)
Dan Green, don't forget Dan Green, too!!! ;o)
Well said Gavin couldn't agree more.
And Master Sken too.
I missed this show and I havnt stopped kicking myself about it, comletely gutted.Like I said I wasnt there and I'm not shit stirring but I got told that Yodyut was robbed, that the stoppage was a terrible decision, and that he was completely winning up until that point. Is this point of view accurate?Genuine question like I say I wasnt there so dont know either way?

People will always talk when the ref stops a fight and both fighters are still on their feet.
That being said, when the referee stopped the fight, Yodyut was neither defending nor returning. (As the Ref stepped in Yodyut did fire back at Tim but he had just been punched from one side of the ring to the other)
Like I said on the night, the Ref has a responsibility for the safety and well being of the fighters.
I was ringside and had a completely uninterupted view, had the fight gone on any longer, I think that Yodyut was going to be punished. Personally, I think it was the correct decision.
Cool thanks for that.Up untill the stoppage was either fighter winning or was it even?
yodyut was winning cos he was usng some scandalous clinching, but Tim dropped the TNT bomb and landed some outrageous whacks, Yodyut was given 2 counts personally i thought the 2nd one was a bit early but when somone isnt defending and you got someone like Tim with free reign to whack them in the face the ref has to be very careful and look after the fighter
a serious longshot question, but don't suppose anyone knows when the dvd will be ready, dan g etc??
i know the dvd from last show is just out, so hope it ain't the same time length..
cant wait to see this elbow, as i never got to when it hit me :) x
That's a 'judging' question and I'm not a judge.
In my opinion however, I would say that Yodyut was opening a clear margin.
His clinch was a lot cleverer and after landing multiple knees, he was turning / throwing Tim to the canvas.
Tim is so dangerous though and lb4lb definitely one of the biggest hitters in Uk Muay Thai
I forgot to hit submit on my last post, that's why it took so long. Liam summed it up better than I did anyway.
Buakaw wanted a pair of the backstreet brawler shorts to take home well what could I say!
thanks for that guys, was just interested.I think our refereeing is very safety minded and rightly so, do you think it would have been stopped in the same way in Thailand?I only ask cause I Thai said no way it would but then he would be biased!!Generaly, fair play I say if your getting whacked everywhere!
tailand they would have let it go on and someone would have probably got hurt
thought so!!haha, happened to me once, slightly put me off as it goes!
I thought the show was an excellent one, some outstanding performances from a number of fighters and some excellent fights. The technical standard appears to be rising in the country and this was evident from the first fight onwards. Jordan did himself, his coach, his gym and the country proud with his performance against Buakaw. Buakaw did win the fight clearly enough in the end, but it was not an easy fight for him in any way. Jordan hurt Buakaw, was not intimidated by him, and never looked outclassed at any time. He also showed great heart when hurt. I have to agree with Hawkman, the reason some people would be cheering for Buakaw is that it was him that they came to see, he was their hero. That said, at the end of the fight I am sure Jordan would have gained everyone's respect.
As for the Tim and Yodyut fight, Yodyut was winning very clearly by moving off launching very well timed body kicks and then when the action went to a closer range, he cleverly moved in grabbing the body, using circle knees and throwing Tim. He had avoided Tim's bombs very skilfully and even took a couple without effect early in the fight. As for the stoppage, I made the call for the safety of Yodyut and I would do exactly the same again in the same situation. I am experienced at looking at how badly fighters are hurt, and being unemotionally attached, as well as close to the action, I felt I was a better position than the fans or the corner to make the call. Do I make mistakes? Yes of course I do, would I change this decision in hindsight, no.
Yodyut was very game, but he was hurt, had received two counts and hadn't responded to my requests to raise his hands at the end of either of those counts. Given the three count rule, I had a choice of letting him carry on taking a beating around the head until the round ended - and possibly take one punch too many - or stop the fight. The rules didn't allow me to give him another count to recover and he was no longer using skill to the prevent punches landing, just using courage against a naturally bigger fighter. I am not preprepared to take the responsibility for a boxer having seriou brain injury if it is at all possible to prevent, and UK Muay Thai definitely doesn't need a serious brain injury either. As part of a vetting process, Sport England were observing at the recent Reebok show unannounced and were impressed by the professionalism and the standard of officiating. The sport can't afford any disasters in the ring.
Generally, when refereeing, I am unlikely to stop fights very easily for cuts or other superficial injuries (in much the same way as referees allow fights to carry on in Thailand). These type of injuries may look bad at times but are cosmetic and not life threatening in any way. Brain injury is very different, I realise that every fighter knows they risk brain injury when they fight, but as a referee I will take the flak from boxers, coaches, fans etc any day of the week than risk the health of a boxer unnecessarily. I would much rather be justifying my actions here than be apologising to a family "...if only I'd have stopped the fight earlier the tragedy may not have happened". It is unlikely that particular fight would have been stopped in Thailand, but I would stop it again in the same situation.
A great show, well done everyone involved (all previously mentioned) but particularly well done from me to Dan and Laura (who do lots of essential background work that sometimes goes unnoticed).
Gutted I missed it, and just to echo Tony's point. A a ref I would rather stop 100 fights 10 secs to early than one 10 secs to late, and there is no one better then judging the state of an exp ref!
