Buakaw to fight again

On 2 July 2012, Mr. Dej Jaikla (the Director & Registrar of the Sports Authority of Thailand's Board of Boxing Sport), Mr. Nopparat Puttarattamamane (Thai Fight representative), Dr. Theppakorn Intharapat (Buakaw's lawyer), Mr. Wiwat Saengsuriya (Por Pramuk camp's lawyer) and Mr. Teeraphat Rojanathan (owner of Por Pramuk camp) met for arbitration at the Civil Court at Ratchadapisek.

After the arbitration meeting that lasted for almost 7 hours, the court decided to acquit all parties and ordered that Buakaw be allowed to box again. Buakaw will have to use 'Buakaw Por Pramuk' as his fight name, but is free to train on his own. 60% of fight earnings will go to Buakaw, & 40% to the camp. Income from all activities other than boxing will be divided 75:25 (75% to Buakaw, 25% to the camp).

As for the 6-month suspension imposed on Buakaw by the Registrar of the Board of Boxing Sport, the court decided that the Sports Authority of Thailand and the Board of Boxing Sport shall find a solution that will allow Buakaw to continue boxing after the court acquitted him.

Mr. Dej said that the court felt that Buakaw has brought fame to the nation and muaythai and is an asset to the country, and thus decided to acquit him in order to let him continue to fight and make a name for Thailand.

BUAKAW will fight on the August 17 Thai Fight Extreme 2012 show at the King Power Stadium in Leicester, England.

Here is the fight card so far:

BUAKAW VS ......................................70 KLG

As you may have gathered from the name of the stadium, the Leicester City FC is owned by King Power CEO and Thai millionaire Vichai Raksriaksorn.

It's the 18th not 17th, coincides with first day of season Leicester at home to Peterborough United. King power are the sponsors of Leicester stadium and also one of the main Thaifight sponsors, they almost put on a show there last year, but got put back.

Given the monstrous size of some of the people fighting at 70, would buakaw not be best fighting at 67? heard he'd make it easy
Dean Ford
Posted: 2012-07-04 09:53:55
Who would give Buakaw a decent scrap at 67kg though? Would like to see Jord at 67 as heard he could make it! Be nice to see him in with Dicks, TNT, Kulebin etc.
MattAMT
Posted: 2012-07-04 10:55:17
He's ripped to death at 70. No one has given him a decent scrap in god knows how long. Jordan Watson was probably the last person to give him a decent go, and before that probably his KO loss against Sato. Mans a beast!

Posted: 2012-07-04 14:50:24
but honestly - i think both sudsakorn and yod would be far too big for him at that weight.
MattAMT
Posted: 2012-07-04 15:02:56
I dont think Sudsakorn is that special, think Buakaw would go through him. Doubt Yod would make 70 anymore, would have loved to have seen them fight when Yod was in his prime!
Nephilim
Posted: 2012-07-04 15:58:45
well yod was fighting a month or two back at 70 i believe.

interesting how no one has taken the lesson from the Sato KO and applied to Buakaw- he cant be beaten in kicking and punching and so few exponents of the long knee in k1 max - any tall fighter with good knees would give him trouble- like to see Craig Jose fight him tbh

this is the first event they are putting on in U.K with a chance of more to come next year, it is basically a showcase this time to test the reaction and also get other people in U.K interested in maybe taking it to another level, if all goes well this could be very big for U.K Muaythai scene.
Once i find out more details of times and exact location I will put it up here

If they want to get people in uk hyped about this maybe it would be better if our guys were fighting the thais, instead of shipping a load of frenchies to fight them (with the exception of the buakaw/jose fight?).

Fair play tho, I cant wait for this!!

So is it a case of first come first served for entry? Really fancy this but would be total sh*t if like myself folk couldn't get in due to x-amount of numbers. I'm guessing it's gonna be held in the conference suite & not out at the actual pitch itself?

will be a cracking fight. I heard this was gonna happen after i made my comment above. Anyone need next weeks lottery numbers? lol.

We will see some quality techniques- remeber Craig Jose fight against Vorn Viva, that was 4 year ago,h ewas impressive in that outing he is fucking miles ahead from there now fi you look at the wakeling fight

hopefully it will be on the pitch as the seating set back from the pitch alone is 32,500 and a ring is nowhere near the size of a pitch which could allow for more but obviously this wont draw a crowd of anywhere near 30,000+ i wouldnt expect?

This should be awesome, it will also prove the British Thai fan base..

There is another topic in regards to ticket prices and people actually going to the big shows, 1 of my partner made a comment saying that we should all let people in for free then and maybe shows will be packed, maybe, maybe not, cant wait to see if this will be packed out or not..

If I turn up 2 hours late will I still be able to get in and get a seat? I hope it does get packed out, but will other promotors try this??

Really cant wait to see Buakaw!!

Good Luck

Looks like a great line up. I emailed the stadium earlier in the week but they don't seem have any info yet:

"Dear Supporter,

Thank you for your query regarding the Thai Fight Night event. Unfortunately we currently have no information available to pricing and selling arrangement dates. However, if you could forward a daytime telephone number and once we have the information available, we will give you a call to let you know."

I'll post if I hear anything more.

"nothing is confirmed yet but they are having a meeting today, call back Friday!"
