Pro am thai titles for big orgnisations
Okay with the new Pro am thai style becoming more popular will the big sanctioning bodies such as Iska,Ukmf and so on start doing Pro am titles for say area titles scottish british etc as well as Pro and amateur titles?
Pro-Am in any form will not be included in any IKF plans.
the spmf(sfma) in Scotland have pro am titles, they are slowly gaining more credibility and have really good fighters vying for them.
just keep doing what your doing Taz, you'll get your chance at a belt mate
Spmf titles are pro.
Sfma do the am and pro-am
lol dammit, thought Id got it right :(
WKF have introduced pro-am titles last year, something of which I am not really keen on I am being honest. it seems to be doing very well in Europe but I prefer only 2 formats - professional and amateur.
If you do wish to discuss pro-am titles give me or Mark Graham a call, or Mick Nokes for MMA.
More champions, exactly what the sport needs
Could be worse, could be the same as MMA with every promoter issuing their own titles.
Yeah, but could be better also. And there's plenty of brand titles already in Thai & Kick to go with them.
Just pass me the hammer. I have another rusty nail to bang into that coffin......
I 100% agree, I don't support them at all especially at local level. I can understand one off tournaments which are open to all but not as a regular thing ie a whole pro-am division. The WKF pro-am is basically amateur competition, full safety, unpaid, etc, that is open to all (excluding pro world, intercontinental, continental champions). Instead of amateur world champions being decided via a tournament format, the pro-am is a challenge belt to be contested individually.
The EMF are good with the Am/Pro Am side of things. They regularly hold am/pro am shows, plus take their best to Thailand every year for the WMF world champs
okay thanks for the feedback was just wondering in general about whos doing pro am titles and whos not i think if pro and amateur have loads of orgnastions for belts i think that pro-am should be respected in the same way to have more orgnastions putting pro am belts up
