Damien Alamos 1st Lumpinee defence & FSA interview

http://fightsportasia.com/2012/09/13/damien-alamos-first-lumpinee-title-defence-vid-exclusive-interview/

with every fight, he sheds the "overrated" moniker that people threw at him last year and even up to winning the belt

top bloke, very humble and knowledgeable. A long way ahead of all the farangs at the moment.

very humble top guy...but your talking total shit robinson pinca would beat alamos
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:47:29
i mean regards to fighting for stadium titles, not many others could win a belt at their weight and defend it. He fought at 62 anyway, i dont think Pinca would beat him at 62 @ Lumpini do you?
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:49:21
62.2 sorry, it was 136-137 on the morning
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:50:48
if Pinca beat say Sittichai and Petchmankong on the bounce then fair enough
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:52:43
no after he went away for a run cos he was over the 2nd attempt he was 137 he usually fights at 140-143 65kg if they were same weight pinca would win cos hes better than him...if pinca was fighting in the stadiums regular yes he would have beat the 2 people alamos has just beat by KO i reckon. but hes not interested in fighting ion the stadiums hes interested in making money so he dont need to do that.
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:53:07
haccine bennaoiu also beat alamos 2 years ago
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:53:59
pinca blew petchmankongs jaw off...dont compare kongfah to either of those two you nutjob i dont think he fought in lumpini for a year before the title defense
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:55:19
pinca without doubt is the best farang at minute. even went distance with aikpracha when he was 71kg to pincas 67.
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:56:57
i dont think he will be fighting over 63.5. pinca would be huge compared to kongfah and arunchai so yeah would blow them away.
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-14 07:57:54
u love kongfah but not as much as petboonchu, i saw u outside FA Group shufflin
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-14 08:00:36
if same weight you compare pincas recent opponents and people hes beaten there a level above...alamos even said hes not ready for the elite yet...in 2 more years tho he will take pincas place if he keeps going. phetboonchu is hideous

Going out on a limb here but there is another French kid here who is a better fighter more technical and clinical than Alamos,

Steeve Archaumbault

Fights 59kg - 61kg

19 years old

Living and training in Thailand full time since he was 15

Lives in the gym at Kiatpetch. Real deal this Boy, Chun has even said he will win Lumpinee belt inside 2 years, big claim so lets see.

Kid liooks good impesive to defend belt looked like he struggled clinching the thai though. Where has antuan and his very impresive younger brother disappeared to?

P4P Alamos is the best farang at 5 x 3 FTR. Pinca's got more power but his technique isn't as good as Alamos. Alamos would slice him up with some elbows if they fought or just accumulate points for the win (assuming Pinca can make 63kg and fight him at that weight - it'd never happen though so all we can do is speculate).

I also think Aloamos is the best farang. So did Liam R until liam badco said something and Liam R crapped his pants and changed his mind. Stand up be strong & stick to your opinions you dweeb.

That is not very nice realy i dont think. Liam R you should report that comment.

Has anyone else out side of thailand won a lumpini title and defended it?
Tom

Pinca got schooled by Saiyok last night on Thailand fight. This time the French judges couldn't overturn the 30-27 result like they did when he fought Saenchai.

This is the thing about Pinca. Yeah he's good, but when he fights top Thais his own weight he gets schooled. His kicks are weak and he mainly just trades leg kicks against body kicks, so he is just always looking for the miracle punch KO when he's out of his depth.

Pinca is a good fighter but I wouldn't say he's the best foreigner in Muay Thai.
Alamos is great to watch and is getting better and better with each fight. Not many out side of Thailand can claim winning a lumpini belt and then defend it.

Never underestimate the power of jealousy and the power of envy to destroy.

i dont see any jelousy here i think liam would beat the pair of them. he just thinks pinca is the stronger fighter of the two, which on paper is correct but alamos has good style and is very strong for such a young lad, if alamos keeps it up i have no doubt by the time he gets to 26-27 he will be the best westerner ever.
Liam R

That is not very nice realy i dont think. Liam R you should report that comment. - LOL i dont do grassing mate.

Pinca got owned big time by saiyok - the diesellek v alamos rematch at raja soon will be very interesting, if he puts in a good performance with diesellek after what he just did to F16 then hes deffo worth all the praise - GO ALAMOS!
liam badco
Posted: 2012-09-20 04:17:57
agreed on that Liam but one doesnt the guy he just thought and diesellek fight at 130 tho usually? least fabios fighting them the same size...how am i jealous cos i think pinca is better? Robinson likes things the thai way and respects that i just like aggressive style of fighting and prefer that, hes my mate why cant i say hes talking shit he knows im joking so do one with the mixing

liam badco

i read a french man saying on twitter that the Alamos vs Bennoui fight is still on in a few weeks, Bennoui has beat him before its on youtube
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-20 04:45:27
usually a short lived career banged up for those types of fighters, prefer classic style that can take wins without a mark on them, make their £££ and get out.

Almos vs Bennoui fight is 13th Oct
Tom
Posted: 2012-09-20 06:06:41
Doesn't sounds very fair for Alamos to fight him at 65kg. Will be an interesting fight that's for sure and a good measure of Alamos against Western bangers.

Posted: 2012-09-20 07:49:47
not really pornsaneh been top level for years and years, and he just KOed Kongnapa who was top ten the other month so still beating the big names...thongchai tor silichai went til he was 36 and was only man ever to KO sanchai...im not talking about the full on idiot style like bovy just the more aggressive exciting style.
Liam R
Posted: 2012-09-20 08:01:46

Alot of people said on another topic that once the fighters weighed in the same weight then there was no weight advantage given.
but now everyone is talking about natural size been the advantage.
so which is it ?
Tom
Posted: 2012-09-24 16:00:24
What are you talking about mugger?

If I walk around at 63kg and jump on the scales at that weight, and you walk around at 68kg, jump on the scales at 63kg, and weigh 67kg come fight night, then yes, obviously, that weight gives you a significant advantage.

If Thailand even a pound or two can be the difference between a win or a loss for top fighters.

Hope that's what you're getting at with your question. Not sure though o_O

Weight definitely matters, else you wouldn't see millions of baht change hands between gamblers just over a pound or two or weight for a top fight.
