Cracking show this will be. Massive headliner and i believe theres other equally good fights on the card. Good to have other promoters aiming high, top work Mr Calder
Excellent fight and glad to see a quality promoter using the Reebok. Great venue.
Best show by far there was 1st RATR show, sure this will even top that show!!
Looking forward to it.
Thanks the show is looking great so far with more world class fights to be announced within the next week, fight fans will not be dissapointed I can assure you. SuperShowDown is going to the next level with this show and as always brings the best fighters in the world to the UK.
It seems that on every big show in the uk people beg for DOC-Panicos so I might as well be the one to bring it up this time. Hopefully DOC is back home at the time of the show and the fight can be made. And whoever mentioned Watson-Sudsakorn above, that is a dream fight for me!
Well the reaction to the 1st fight announcement is what I expected the whole Muay Thai world is talking about Harrison v Alamos and rightly so, it is one of the biggest fights in the World and it's coming to the UK, put 8th March 2014 in your diary, you wouldn't want to miss this, The Reebok-Bolton is where it,s at...
What can I say...Brian, you fairly know how to put on a show...that's a belter of a headline bout.
As ever, I'm thrilled to be a part of SuperShowDown and delighted to be calling out the action on this event.
The Reebok has seen plenty of TOP CLASS Muay Thai action over the years and this will be no exception!
that is the best fight i can think of at the moment to be fair or pinca! hard fight for liam alamos just keeps getting better although apparently hes getting a bit of an easy ride from his promoter so iv heard with lower class top thai oponants. spark him liam!
what weights the fight at, cracking headline bout this show will be the best we have seen in uk if anyone hasn't dealt with Brian before he is 100% fair and honest great to work with, support this show.
The 2nd fight to be announced for this show is one the re-match that every fight fan wants to see between yet another 2 amazing fighter’s on this show.
This fight brings 2 genuine Superstars of Muay Thai together and this is the re-match that the world wants to see.
So UK SuperStar Dean James (Pra Chao Sua) World ISKA Champ and European WMC Champ will face Thailand’s SuperStar Rungravee (Sasiprapa Bangkok Thailand), Channel 7 Stadium Champion Bangkok and Muaythai Warriors World Champion.
This is what Dean’s instructor Tony Myer’s said after there 1st fight :
I am so very, very proud of Dean who put in an excellent performance showing real courage, power as well as technique against Rungravee. He demonstrated that in spite of the gulf in experience, he clearly deserves to be fighting at this level and really enjoyed the fight.
I hope this performance means he gets more opportunities to fight against such great opposition.
Dean's right body kick had seriously damaged Rungravee's arm in round one (Rungravee had his arm in a sling after the fight and it looked very swollen) but Rungravee showed nothing at all during the fight.
We didn’t even suspect he was hurt until he showed us his arm after the final bell. Rungravee had definitely not taken the fight lightly and had really done his homework stopping Dean's knee from the opening round onwards and catching most of Dean’s elbows on his gloves. Some of his sidesteps were sublime when he knew Dean needed to press his attack to try to take back the lead – great timing and skill.
Dean was slightly ahead going into the fourth showing good heart alongside some sharp and well timed attacks. During the early rounds Rungravee had landed some hard low kicks that took the spring out of Dean’s right leg and so he had no resistance against Rungravee’s throws.
Rungravee won the fight with a big fourth round swaying back from attacks and catching Dean’s hip and throwing him several times. While Dean pressed forward in the fifth, he needed a count to turn around Rungravee’s big round four and Rungravee was far too clever to allow that.
We had hoped and trained for Rungravee pressing forward and attacking as he has done previously against foreign boxers, but while may be known as a dangerous attack fighter he clearly demonstrated that he is very clever indeed, has some outstanding Muay Thai skills along with great courage too.
Great fight from both boxers.
And Its with great delight to announce "The rematch is on 8th March 2014"..
The Reebok-Bolton, England where else would you want to be.
The 3rd fight to be announced for this show is yet another World Class fight that every fight fan wants to see between yet another 2 amazing fighter’s on this show.
This fight brings 2 genuine Superstars of Muay Thai together and this is a fight that everyone wants to see.
Yet another UK SuperStar Panicos Yusuf (Superpetch/All Powers Gym) European Champion will face Thailand’s SuperStar Rittijak Kaewsamrit (Double K Gym/ Thailand), a 2 time World Champion with over 240 fights to his name.
Currently ranked #3 in the UK, Panicos is widely regarded as one of the most talented fighters around and holds wins over many big names in his 37 fight career, including Josh Palmer, Stephen Hodgers, Seamus Cogan and 4 times World Champion Rung Kharnphan.
He is one of the most technically gifted fighters on the circuit today and will need to call on all these skills when he takes on former WMC bantamweight World Champion Rittijak. Panicos’s last defeat was in May 2010 Pts v Greg Wooton.
Hailing from the world renowned Kaewsamrit gym in Bangkok, Thailand, famous for producing multiple champions such as Anuwat & Singmanee, Rittijak made his first appearance on UK soil earlier this year with a first round KO of his foreign opponent. With a decorated career spanning 2 decades and more than than 240 fights, he brings a wealth of talent and experience to the ring and will provide the sternest of tests for UK based Cypriot Panicos.
The 4th fight to be announced for this show is yet another World Class fight on SuperShowDown that every fight fan wants to see between another 2 amazing fighter’s on this show.
This fight brings 2 genuine Muay Thai SuperStar’s together and this is a fight like the 3 that have been announced so far that everyone wants to see.
Two of the UK’s finest will fight each other, Tim TNT Thomas (Nak Soo) 2 Times ISKA World Champion will face Reece McAllister (Phoenix Thai Boxing), who is regarded by many as the best up and coming fighter in the UK..
Tim is ranked number 1 in the UK at this weight and Reece is number 7. They met in a 67 kg/147 lb catchweight bout at Glory 5: London on March 23, 2013 in London, England to fight in a K1 bout, Reece won on that occasion. This time they will fight under Full Muay Thai Rules.
Tim Thomas (born March 28, 1983) is an English-Jamaican Muay Thai kickboxer who competes in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. He came to prominence by winning the UKMF British Welterweight Muay Thai title early in his career before becoming the ISKA World Welterweight Muay Thai Champion in 2005. He lost this belt in 2008 after one successful title defence, but later became a world champion for the second time by taking the ISKA World title under Kun Khmer rules in 2011.
A British Jamaican, Thomas first came to prominence when he won the UKMF British Welterweight (-67 kg/147 lb) Muay Thai Championship early in his career. In 2005, he defeated Farid Laidhouni in Belgium to win the ISKA World Welterweight (-67 kg/147 lb) Muay Thai title.
The following year, on April 2, 2006, he fought at the historic Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for the first time where he knocked out Samart Sor Kor Pira in round two. He then made the first defence of his ISKA world title by winning on points in Glasgow, Scotland against Lloyd Cochrane on October 15, 2006.
He lost his ISKA strap to Frankie Hudders on March 29, 2008 when he lost a majority decision in Manchester, England. Thomas was given the chance to win another world title when he took on Abraham Roqueñi for the ISKA World Super Welterweight (-69.5 kg/153 lb) Freestyle Kickboxing title in Laredo, Spain on April 11, 2009 but was knocked out with a high kick in the seventh round.
On March 23, 2010, Thomas competed in the I-1 World Muaythai Grand Prix 2010, a 66 kg/145 lb one-night, eight-man tournament held in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong and was eliminated at the quarter-final stage when he lost a split decision to Santichai Or. Boonchauy. He returned to the following year's edition of the tournament, the I-1 World Muaythai Grand Prix 2011 on April 21, 2011, and fared slightly better by besting Lerm Ratchakhom by unanimous decision in the quarters before losing a split decision to Kurt Finlayson in the semis.
Thomas became a world champion for the second time on July 6, 2011 when he defeated Maes Chantha by technical knockout at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to take the ISKA World Welterweight Kun Khmer title. He sent his opponent to the canvas three times in the fifth round, forcing the referee to stop the bout. The fight was not without controversy, however, as Thomas was unable to make the contracted weight of 67 kg/147 lb and instead weighed in at 68.8 kg/151 lb. Just twenty-four days later, Thomas fought to a draw with former Rajadamnern champion Malaipet in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
On January 20, 2012, he lost on points against Ludovic Millet in a five-rounder for the vacant ISKA World Super Welterweight (-69.5kg/153.2lb) Oriental Championship in Meaux, France.
In 2012, he signed with the Glory promotion and was included in the 2012 Middleweight Slam tournament, replacing Tie Yinghua on short notice to join sixteen of the world's best fighters at 70 kg/154 lb. The tournament kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden at Glory 1: Stockholm - 2012 Middleweight Slam First 16 on May 26, 2012 where he defeated Dennis Schneidmiller by unanimous decision.
A few words from Reece McAllister....Now 21 years old, I started training at a young age with my dad then at the age of 9 years old I had my first amateur fight. From there I built up my record as a junior and at the age of 12 I won my first British junior title which I defended 3 times and won every time.
At 13 years old I had my first trip to Thailand were I competed in the Amateur World Championships and won a bronze medal. Leading on from this I returned to Thailand at 15 years old to train and fight.
I fought my first pro full Muay Thai rules fight winning by 2nd round KO.
When I was 17 years old I travelled to Thailand alone for the first time for 6 weeks to train and fight at Superpro Samui gym. I had 3 fights in 6 weeks winning my first one by KO round 2.
The second one I lost on points but I knew I could beat the guy so I asked for a rematch. I fought the same guy again winning by KO round 4. The gym I was training at was very happy with my performance and offered me the chance to stay in Thailand and fight for them free of charge so I returned to England for 1 month then went back to Thailand for 6 months, having 10 fights with 10 wins.
This led me on to getting a manager and from there I have building my way up to the top. Reece is now one of THE top young fighter’s in the World and this is a great opportunity for him to stake his claim as the number 1 in the UK at 67kgs....
This fight is mouth watering & would top most events in the UK ....

Could this fight card get any better ? You bet it will, Stay Tuned.
Would love to see Damien Trainor on this, lets get him on! Obviously I would have loved to of seen him in a rematch with Rungravee but as Dean James is rematching him , it's not able to happen. Who would make the an exciting fight???
What was wrong with Trainor's last few performances? I know he lost to Howson, I didn;t see that but I didn't hear anyone saying Trainor did badly? And the Rungravee fight, although he lost that too, it was a very exciting fight to watch and definitely not a bad performance from him.
Sorry just re read that. Just that he had lost a few on the trot now. It was more ment that he had a gym now, or so I read. Trainor no doubt one of the most exciting fighters. Just can't fight and run a gym. Can you? Might be wrong.
Damien Trainor would be great on this. With his talent and experience I honestly dont believe his time out will be a major issue, his last two performances have been as good as ever he just lost to world class opponents who were better on the day. I know Damien well he really looks after himself outside of the gym, so has aged very well, that stands him in good stead to fight again.
I also know he would only be interested in a fight with a top thai or a big name he would be interested in fighting.
TOPS knows him better than me but a good domestic fight for Damien if he would be interested would be Paulo Da Silva. Paulo is a machine and they have a similar style. I dont think they have ever met before??
I have asked about some of the fighter's just mentioned and tried to match one of those fights but could not agree weight with one fighter. Darren O'Conner is fighting on another show end of february and is therefore not available.
2 of the fighter's on this show will this weekend be in action in the same 8 man tournament, Damien Alamos and Tim Thomas, see them fight live 8th March 2014 at the Reebok, TICKETS ON SALE NOW FROM
I've only just noticed this, other than my fight with Howson my last fight at 55kg was on the very first SuperShowDown event which was Feb 2011 all the rest have been at 57kg against world class opposition, considering I walk around at 56/57kg I thought I did ok ;-) ....I should really pick on people my own size lol
I am planing on fighting again, i've had a few offers but I've been unable to accept as i've been really busy at the moment and I'm at a stage in my career where I only take fights that excite me. As for the fight with Dean it just doesn't interest either of us for a number of reasons.
Brian the show looks sensational as always and I'm really pleased to see Nathan on a big stage as I feel he deserves it.

Last night saw another 2 fighter's whose fight's have been announced fighting, Dee Jay fought a very dangerous opponent from France who has beat Rungravee, Dean won the fight clearly on point's in Scotland. And down in England Soloman Wickstead won by 1st round KO beating a fighter who had up until last night had not been beaten. Well done to both guys and that is another reason amongst the millions of others why you do not want to miss there fights on SuperShowDown 8th March 2014...
Today saw Daniel McGowan fight in Thailand, below is an account of the fight as witnessed by Ricky Sewell, well don Dan on what seems like a belter of a fight. Daniel is fighting on SuperShowDown 8th March and yet again another reason why you do not want to miss this show, ALL the best talent from the UK and worldwide on the same stage.
Just witnessed a war! Daniel McGowan was winded in the 2nd for an 8 count but picked himself up and showed his heart looking to hurt the thai. Round 3 saw them both going elbow for elbow with Daniel coming off the better in the majority of exchanges. Daniel dropped the lad with an elbow followed by a headkick which turned the fight around in his favour. Judges gave it a draw much to the disgust of the gamblers who knew Daniel was the rightful winner. Well done son, proud of you!

Pakorn PK MuayThaiGym
Pakorn is 23 years of age, he started fighting at the age of 9, he first started training at home with his fatherthen went to Sitphteang Camp not far from his home and then at Sakyothin Camp in Bangkok. He now trains at 13 coins camp in Bangkok with Saenchai, before this he trained at Jitty Gym for one year. He was Radjadamnern Champion in 2008. And Thailand Champion in 2013 defeating Kongsak Sitboonmee.
Pakorn Sakyotin is a great fighter, an incredible durable boxer, he has beat great champions as Pornsanae Sitmonchai, Kongsak Sitboonmee, Singtongnoi Por Telakoon, Noppakrit Namplatrahoimook, Jomtong Chuwatana, Rungreunlek Lookprabat, Petchmai Lookboonmee, Phet Ek Kiatyongyut, Sakeddao Phetpayathai, Penaik Sitnumnoi, Phetpanomrung Kiatmoo9 and Mongkolchai Phetsupaphan
Pakorn, nicknamed "Golden boy", won his first belt at the age of 18, he was Raja Champion at 115 lbs against Khaimukdam Chuwattana (Raja Champion). Pakorn is one of the boxers who gains at present the biggest purse of the Thai circuit, because his stalk does not stop rising.
In 2010.. Pakorn made two memorable fights against the rock Pornsanae Sitmonchai, the first match took place on March 5th in the stadium of Lumpinee, a fight of madness, a titanic battle between two bruisers of which Pakorn went out victorious to points, elected match " Fight of the year in Lumpinee.
The revenge, June 10th, in the stadium of Raja, was another amazing fight with again the victory of Pakorn.
During year 2010 Pakorn also beat, in Lumpinee, formidable Jomthong Chuwattana and fought for the belt of Lumpinee in 130 lbs against the great technician Nong O Kayanghaddao but he lost in points.
Year 2012 was also splendor for Pakorn because in February, in Lumpinee, he beat the big champion Kongsak Sitboonmee,
in September, in Raja, he made a draw against the boy wonder Yodwicha Por Boonsit and at the beginning of November, in Lumpinee, he beat by KO, on blow of knee, Kongsiam Tor Pitakchal. In November, 2012,
Pakorn made his first fight abroad, in Scotland on SuperShowDown, where he was defeated by points in front of there star Saenchai.
But it's in 2013 when he really exploded by beating the best current fighters of the Thai circuit..
Pakorn received the trophy of the "Best fighter of year 2013", a prize awarded by "The Sports Authority of Thailand, a prestigious prize which is just after the famous trophy offered by The Sport Writers Association of Thailand. In 2013, on ten made fights, Pakorn gained six victories, makes two draws, loses twice and wins the belt of Thailand in 135 lbs.
In February, in Raja, he beats the formidable Pet Ek Kiatyongyut (Thailand Champion)In April, in Lumpinee, he loses against the bull Diesellek Aooddonmuang. In May, in Lumpinee, he made a draw against the star Nong O Kaiyanghaddao (Best fighter of year 2005) In June, in Raja, in main fight, he loses against Penaik Sitnumnoi (Best fighter of year 2011)
In July, in Lumpinee, in main fight, he beats the great champion Saketdao Phetphayathai (Lumpinee Champion, Raja Champion, World Champion WBC) In August, in Radja, in main fight, he takes his revenge on Penaik Sitnumnoi by beating him in points.
In September, in Raja, in main fight, he made again a draw against Nong O Kayanghaddao. In October, in Lumpinee, in main fight, he beats the boy wonder Phetpanomrung Kiatmoo9 (Thailand Champion).
In November, in Raja, he beats the great champion Jomtong Chuwattana (Raja Champion, World Champion WBC)
In December, in Lumpinee, he beats the champion Kongsak Sitboonmee (Lumpinee Champion, Thailand champion, World Champion WMC, Best fighter of year 2010) for the belt of Thailand in 135 lbs..
gregs two biggest wins are against luke turner a very good fighter and prathet who is a great fighter 15 years back. prakorn is hideous i seen him hit pads a few times and chilled with him if you seen him hitting pads you wouldnt want this fight! its mental!
Greg is ranked number 1 in the UK, hitting pads is way different to fighting but you know that already, Greg is well up for the challenge and he will do his gym and the UK proud.
Very tough fight for greg, it will be good for him whatever the result. Deserves credit for getting in the same ring as him and it will be good for raising his profile
HES GOT BALLS GOING IN THERE WITH HIM! IM NOT SHOOTING HIM DOWN THERE IS JUST A GULF IN TALLENT THERE! prakorn is an elite A* class fighter in the best 10 fighters in the world he just smashed sagatdow my favorite fighter of our time!
trained with pakorn and watched him on the pads and free sparring with maleady,he is tiny he could easily make 58kg,with power and size and weight on his side gregg may pull this of.very interesting fight.
What weight is the fight at? If its 63.5kg
Greg will be up near 70kg come fight time so could play a big part
Pakorn is the shit tho Brian as got a fight card any fighter/fan wants to see well done mate can't wait for it :D
i dont gamble and i am a tight bastard but i will have 50 on gregg, only with one person that is,maleady was holding his own,i really think the weight and height will make a massive difference.
This fight reminds me of when jordan fought buakaw, and look where he is today fighting in the biggest shows around the world. Greg deserves it he hasnt ducked anyone, fought the whos who in his division. Respect all fear none
I matched this fight because it is a brilliant fight, Pakorn fights anywhere between 58 and 61kgs in Thailand, Greg fights at a heavier weight, whichever way you look at it it is very clever matchmaking, which is what SuperShowDown is all about.
no probs Brian n the show is amazing :D
I can see where jonny is coming from but I wouldn't
Go off bit off sparing maleady it top but if he got in
With the likes of sagetdao he wouldn't get anywhere n pakorn made him to look silly end of the day Greg will bring it as always n will be a top show :D
sagetdao passed his best when fought with pakorn, this will be a much closer fight than people think, the wieght will play a big part, fighting in the uk also, i actually fancy greg
sagetdao passed his best when fought with pakorn, this will be a much closer fight than people think, the wieght will play a big part, fighting in the uk also, i actually fancy greg
for the win ... i meant, not in a master ted way !!
yeh sagetdao i think is well past his best, dosent even fight in the stadiums now, pakorn is one of thailands best, but will be fighting well above his wieght in a different country, probably still jetlagged like he was in his very ordinary display against saenchai in scotland, greg has a very good chance of winning, styles make fights !!!
The weight advantage, jetlag and Wootons relentless fitness and strength may mean this fight could may be go the distance but Pakorn will simply be too clever, too experienced and too technical IMO. I think he will carve out a very comfortable win. That said the advantages Wooton has (size, weight, etc) could make a very exciting fight to watch. When all said and done thats what we want, exciting fights!!
SuperShowDown in Association with #Yokkao8, 8th March 2014-The Reebok-Bolton
The Story So Far :
(1) LIAM HARRISON V DAMIEN ALAMOS 64KGS A CLASS
(2) GREG WOOTTON V PAKORN 63.5KGS A CLASS
(3) DEAN JAMES V RUNGRAVEE 59KGS A CLASS
(4) REECE MCALLISTER V TIM THOMAS 67KGS A CLASS
(5) RITTIJACK V PANICOS 60.5KGS A CLASS
(6) SOLOMAN WICKSTEAD V NATHAN EPPS 72KGS A CLASS
(7) STEVEN LONG V JOSH TURBILL 69KGS A CLASS
(8) WAYNE FISHER V BRAD STANTON 66KGS A CLASS
(9) DAN MCGOWAN V JORDAN COE 54KGS A CLASS
(10) DANIEL CROMPTON V CHRIS WHITTLE A CLASS 61KGS
(11) WILLIE DEMPSTER V PINDI SINGH 69KGS A CLASS
And that is just the A Class fight's on this show, and for £35-£40 I am sure you will all agree that you would pay that amount just to see 1 of these fight's. This is THE biggest muay thai show the UK has ever seen don't leave it until the last minute to get your ticket's because this will sell out.
Best card ever in UK.
This is a great opportunity for Greg to get a good scalp. IMO it would be a different fight in Thailand but its there for the taking & is a chance to build a solid rep ww which has to be a motivator. It'll be Baltic up the road & that will play a part. If it drops below 25 Thais are wearing wooly hats and jackets. Pakorn could seize up but Greg looks good fighting long & is tidy with the elbows
SuperShowDown presents Muay Thai Combat Mania #Yokkao8 will take place in Bolton's Reebok Stadium Saturday 8th March 2014. The card will feature as main event Liam Harrison, our top fighter from Yokkao UK, vs Damien Alamos, Pakorn PK MuayThaiGym, Tim Thomas, Rungravee Sasiprapa, Reece Mc Allister, James Dean and many more...stay tuned!
Nothing cloak and dagger about it, we have told everyone today on Facebook that the fight is cancelled with Alamos and Liam will now fight World Champion Houcine Bennoui, there will be a statement about Alamos tomorrow.
almos is the better fight really common lets not play it down its a massive loss, hes lumpinee champ that would have been a right scalp gutted really still atleast you have him a fight. il still be there 100% but gutted about that!
@ paulinthailand nothing personal, but I don't know you and don't have that sort of money, so it will have to be a 'sportsman's bet' but you do sound pretty certain of the outcome - more than I am at any rate. In fact if you are that certain, surely you'd be offering odds 4/1? 5/1? ;-)
i know prakorn, i dont know greg the offer wasnt to you but anyone i offered such an amount because if anyone would take that bet it have 10/1 chance of winning on a 50/50! im tellig you prakorn is evil! if anyone took that bet id go and tell him il give him half just so he didnt take it easy for the crowd! hes an absolute monster! punches like a world champ boxer his right kick is propbably there with lb 4 lb power kicks in the world and clinches like a beast! he beat sagat dow for fook sake! he won thai fighter of the year last year this isnt a step up for greg its being thrown in the deep end, hes not fought anyone near this kind of class luke turner and pratet both real good fighters they are b- to prakorn being an A* you never know what could happen in a fight greg could cut him but im telling you he wont beat him any other way! he wont ko him and he wont win on points!
right the guy has beat pornsaneh twice, kongsak twice, phet ek sit japour, sagat dow, two draws with nong o, a draw with yodvichca and beat jomtong chuwattana 3 times! thats some rusume!
Was Alamos recently injured in a championship fight in thailand?. I'm sure I've seen his face/name on a poster for an upcoming show. Is he actually injured or are the dates no longer workable for him
his name is actually open to opinion as thai doesnt translate to english a lot of people phonetically call him prakorn! its like sawatdee krap/kap kup there is no right or wrong way thai doesnt translate to english. ferrang fellang fallang! pet asawin petchasasin see what im saying
hear the comentators here and tell me there isnt an r in prakorn! arjarn ajarn its open to interpretation mate! everyone that doesnt speak thai calls runggravee where as thais say rungrawee
bukaw is is actually pronounce bua (lotus) koow (white) two different words there should be a space in between there but we get it wrong all the time and its a double vowel in the koow!
raymond il give you 50/50 as i said above! thats the only reason i offered such a bet, if you think greg can take it go for the bet it doesnt have to be a ridiculous amount thats just how sure i am on pRakorn ;) winning
I got to say I 100% agree with paulinthailand. Prathet must have trained for around 2 and a half minutes for his fight with Wooton. If he trained I think he would beat him. He's old, well retired, fought out of his weight cause he lazy. Luke Turner is a great domestic scalp but Pakorn is, well Pakorn. Calling Tuner and Prathet b class in comparison as paulinthailand did, is at best generous. Id say Pakorn is a significant level higher than that!? Still though fair play he's getting in and having a go!! Defo a warrior!
i totally agree mate! if he wins this is the biggest uset inmuay thai i can think of other than weight differance greg could weigh upto 10kgs more than him on the day
Yes Pakorn has fought once before in the UK in Scotland against Saenchai on SuperShowDown in Glasgow, the show starts as stated on the tickets at 16.15pm, the time on the Yokkao posters is when the main events are expected to start.
paulinthailand I don't think anyone has said Greg isn't the underdog, even from his own gym. For Greg to win would be an extraordinary achievement and you seem to know Pakorn better than most - that's why I was wondering why you weren't offering odds given your supreme confidence rather than offering 10 grand at even which you know won't get answered. Is that how the betting in the Thai stadiums works? Is it always evens bets?
Really looking forward to this show! I hope Jordan Coe pulls off the performance i know hes capable off but cant call that fight as Dan is amazing and really hope Greg wins but again cant call it, amazing match making by Brian!
Im a big fan of gregs and i really want him to win, obviously pakorn is a huge favourite, but greg has a huge heart and stamina for days. Dont be suprised if he takes pakorn the distance. That would be an amazing achievement already.
It seems greg struggles against thai's 1 of his losses came against a thai in tenerife and he got dropped big against prathet in the first round.
im not offering odds because if i bet that kind of money i want to win double! i know (i think now im gonna call him) Pakon (doesnt need to be an r in the korn bit). my "supreme confidence" isnt me being bolshy its me being educated on the subject, i know what im talking about. i dont bet in thailand cos the thai's never pay up i said 10k not that i have that sort of money to loose but just how sure i am! i couldnt risk 10k on a muay thai fight with elbows, it was more a figure of speech thing. do me a favor aswel dont talk to me like im an idiot or patronize me because im far from one! you will see come fight time everything i have said is true! if greg wins il swallow my pride man up and eat my words iv done it once before (when liam fought my mate ronnie, before me and liam were good mates) i didnt like it much i dont like being wrong so try not to do it too often!
you know what steve broom you bring up a good point with food! i bet the thai's struggle like hell with our food i know they find it very hard to digest and airplane food is dog meat at best most of the time! how many days before the fight are you flying them in brian? one thing does have to be said though this is one serious card and brian really has pulled out a cracker! i pray as im sure everyone else does the card doesnt fall apart with injuries and pull outs as often can! i was offered to do a night went to watch one where i was asked to do it there were that many pull outs gym arguments and not on weight that the whole event was cancelled with 300 people waiting needing there money back! i thought no way am i doing that and to do it on this scale really hats off to you mate!
thing is if you start trying to factor everything in, even down to food where do you stop? They're grown ups, they know we dont all have the same diet. They're fighters and they getting paid.
I obviously can't speak for the entire Thai race but most of the ones Iv met are a right gang of whingers half the time. Always banging on about it being too cold, too hot, cant go running in the rain Il get sick, I hate farrang food it mai aroy! They're like bloody children!

Don't miss the biggest Muay Thai Show that UK has ever seen before, Saturday 8th March 2014 Reebok Arena (Bolton)
goodluck mate hope it all turns out for you,fed up i cant make it,but got a few going from our gym, reebok is a fantastic venue glad someone is using it.
I can't be there but I think there will be a big showing from KO.
Greg doesn't need luck. I think a lot of people are in the mistaken belief that this fight will be a pushover for Pakorn. They mistake Greg's gentility for weakness.
In the ring he is cold and mean- to coin an Ali phrase - he's so mean he makes medicine sick.
once a month would be the norm, maybe more if they are free of injury, but 2 fights in eight days, yeh i think you could say hes taking greg too lightly
The fight just became even bigger if that is possible Pakorn has just become the New Lumpinee Stadium Champion beating Singdam on points. Even more reason now to be at the Reebok next week.
Come and see the New Lumpinee Champion fight at The Reebok 8th March, the best fighter's in the World under 1 roof, where else would you want to be ? SuperShowDown in association with Yokkao 8.
If greg wins then it will be down to Pakorn carrying injuries, jetlag, and weighing less. Not because hes better. Truth. Anybody think otherwise? Greg will win if it goes past 2 rounds
i get what hes saying! makes total seance! greg is not an equal fighter (yet or probably ever) to current lumpinee champion pakorn. pakorn just had a 5 round battle hes going to be tired and hes going to be injured and hes going to be underweight and hes saying greg is a grinder so he is expecting pakorn to fade if greg grinds him out! thing is pakorn has fantastic conditioning and im sure he wont train once now in between fights but he will be 100% fit due to his lumps title fight. i think its going to be an amazing fight. its the one im looking forward to watching!

Thanks for the clarification Paul. Its just a possible outcome of the fight. Still reckon Pakorn is favourite. But its definitely tipped the balance of the fight, giving Greg more of a chance.

an absolute kick in the nuts that is! what a joke how can there be travel issues when hes been here before! load of bollox! feel for you brian! in all fairness most people coming are coming to see the uk fighters so hopefully wont affect sales too much if it wasnt for liam and dean being on this though i would have cancelled for sure, not that the other fights are not great but i could have had my own fighter fighting this weekend 10 miles from where i live and bolton is gonna be a 5 hr drive!
its a load of bollox mate, if he had been given a visa before did nothing against his visa restrictions they would give it him again hes either gone on the piss all week celebrating being the new lump champ, is carrying an injury from the singdam fight or not applied in time!
I asked Yokkao on twitter - said they got the answer back today they haven't answered how long the British Embassy have been sitting on the application.
Absolutly disgusted, visa issues should have been arranged or approved much earlier and not couple days before the fight, the kid must of made huge sacrifices to his life in order to train for this fight for many months. Coach loads of fans had arranged to travel up there and now all for nothing.
Juri kehl is not enriko, as was advertised. Pakorn should not of been advertised if he didnt have a visa. Trying to sort one out a month before the fight is a roll of the dice. So if he didnt have a visa he should not of been advertised.
Yes. Not the same agreed. But he got injured in a fight, a week before fighting jordan. The promoters must of known he was due to fight then before booking him. Same with pakorn in the lumpinee title fight. He could of got injured then cant fight but was advertised on this show. There not guranteed bookings there gambles. Unfortunately the spectator looses.
its totally out of order any fighter fighting a month they have already agreed to fight on a show, its not the promoters fault ,its understandable fighters needing money but it puts the promoter under pressure if they get injured, its a great show still, but i think greg could have beat him.
From what I understand, Enriko fight was set up long before they knew about the K1 fight being 1 week before. Enriko was under contract and had no option but to fight.
A replacement was organised as soon as it was realized that Enriko might be injured, which was the only thing that could be done.
In fairness the WMC ranked 13 (Jordan) vs the WMC ranked 14 (Juri) is a great replacement.
Again, this is just my understanding of what happened, open to being corrected.
I say get greg a replacement, the paying fans deserve to see him fight, he deserves to fight having sacrificed so much. Im still fuming cnt believe this!
Unfortunately Pakorn's UK VISA for Supershowdown presents YOKKAO 8 has been rejected by the UK Embassy, we have tried all possible channels to approve it.
The inefficiency of the UK Embassy in Thailand that forwards all THAI VISA applications to an external agency, did not allow for us to bring Pakorn to England.
Crazy to say the least but the truth...we learned through other sources of this
rejection.
The embassy is still holding Pakorn's passport without giving us an explanation of the rejection.
We are very sorry for all the fans who want to see Pakorn vs Greg Wootton, but do not worry .. this fight will happen in the near future!
All the fights are still confirmed except Pakorn vs Greg Wootton.
sorry Brian, I know you need to get on with the rest of the show - but just like that the UK visa was turned down to someone who had previously travelled here without a problem?
I have taken a couple of days to sit back and reflect on the show and only one word can describe it...
WOW.
I have to start by thanking Stefania Muay Thai Combat-com who has the same vision as me and is an absolute star. She is a perfectionist and works 24/7 on the show even though she was not well she still did not stop. Everything she does for muay thai is from the heart and when we both feel the same then we cannot go wrong. We worked together and everyone saw the end result on Saturday, we have now taken UK muay thai to a different level. We are a great team and we want everyone to know that THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING, together we sold out the Reebok.
I would also like to thank Peter Spensley whom out of everyone helped me the most , I cannot do this by myself, I live in another country, and to you my friend I thank you for everything you are a diamond, I appreciate everything that you have did for me and I will never forget that.
I also have to thank Darren Phillips who was there for me anytime of the day and always offered to help me whenever I needed it, I won't forget that mate thank you.
And to two very very good friends of mine Douglas McAdam and Vinny Shoreman what can I say other than you are the best it's as simple as that, no one else even comes close to you at what you do.
And to the fighter's, coaches and all the staff that made the show a HUGE success, thank you you all made this show very special.
What were the highlight's for me ? Who were the best fighter's on the day ? My answer is EVERY SINGLE one of them that climbed through those ropes, you were ALL amazing.
I can't go without saluting my glove runner's Pitbull and his team, they are unreal at what they do and everything is spot on and we had a right laugh at the bar, I love that part sitting with people in a great atmosphere enjoying yourself, nothing better.
I am very happy and this is by far THE best show that I have ever promoted, THANK YOU to everyone that was involved.
