No offence guys cause you are doing a great job but is this a joke.......seriously??! Marlon is K-1 fighter as I'm aware not even in the WBC rankings but yet fighting for WBC World title???!!!!!!! Some of us have slogged our guys out fighting too Thais for 15 years or more and told you need to be in top ten to even be thought of to get a shot at the belt...! Neither of these two are even in the current rankings at all sorry guys but a total piss take this fight! Gutting news and so annoying to all the hard working actual MUAY THAI fighters like myself who actually are in the rankings.

Hi Andy

I understand your point totally and i thank you for the compliment on the job we have been doing so far.
In your division thats probably what you eould have to do as the thais pretty much dominate and its difficult to break into the top 10
In the cruiser weight division there are actually only 18 ranked fighters at the moment in the top 20 so as marlon and andrei have had so many fights accross various sports and been extremely successful i have submitted there records to the HQ in thailand and wrote a letter which has had to be passed by the committee in Thailand, this took over 3 weeks to do and had to be sent out to ensure there were no objections from that division, both fighters are officially ranked based on their fighting history it will be updated soon.

Although the fighters have fought mainly k1 etc it would be pointless start them off at national level as they are already fighting on glory the worlds biggest k1 style stage, the same way some top thai fighters like yourself get opportunties at the highest level in k1 bouts as there would be not point putting you in at the beginning because your already a top fighter

A lot of fighters in this division tend not to fight thai rules as much as the rewards arent as great and they can get more money without being elbowed in k1 thats why the division has gaps however if by giving the guys in the heavier weights opportunities to fight for the likes of a wbc title then it could hopefully see more famous fighters in the heavier divisions like your Hunts and maybe one day your saki's, hari's etc who knows we will try our best as a fight series.

Opportunities like this in your division are difficult to come by so i do understand your frustration but please dont take this as an insult as you are without doubt one of the best fighters outside thailand in the world at your weight.
Although this may not make you feel any better about it i hope it clears it up a little bit.

I do hope the british public dont turn this into a slanging job get right behind marlon and support him as he is great professional athlete and proud to be representing the uk in Malta.

Any further questions please feel free to text/call me or email/inbox on facebook as sometimes things get Misunderstood on Ax to say the least. I Andy very well and i know your question was of genuine interest to find out how the title ahot came about.
Speak soon mate all my details below and All the best for the new year to you and the lads at blackwidow :)

Current UK rankings, Are none of these guys more worthy of WBC World Title Shot over Marlon Hunt?

The guy may have fought on Glory etc etc but he got made to look ordinary by Andrew Tate, Why not put Tate in there instead?
Tate is American/British and is a better all round fighter.

Tate doesn't fight Thai rules so that's why not put him in there.

Actually Tate was supposed to fight Thai rules vs Simon Marcus on MTIA but it did not go ahead as the date was to close for his fight on ENFUSION...When the money is right all fights can happen as he fought FC/K1/MMA rules.
But on the other hand well done to the fight and I think whoever the winner of the above fight is can be challenged on UK soil buy one of the top boys in the Rankings and Lyndon or Sikwa would be great for that :-)

Tate would fight most rules if the purse was right, he has an ego and to beat someone for a world title as prestigious as a WBC would feed that ego.

This is not a dig at anyone as I think the Smash Series are fantastic.

Could the winner not face off on UK soil against Tate or Stephen Wakeling?

After the way hunt was on here mocking a fighter that fought to support his kid & then wishing the fella ended up punch drunk. I for one am glad that Tate punched fcuk out of him & I hope this fella sparks him too.

well said plus sometimes fight schedules/contracts etc make it difficult for promoters so I guess when one is not available they have to look for someone else etc. Good Luck to ALL and agree SMASH is great in what they do :-)

@Alex Forman, that was a very classy response. Very professionally written. It's a shame other promoters didn't learn from you how to correctly respond to criticism. Good luck with the show.

I would just like to say that I have no problem with the show and Smash promotion itself so don't feel this is a hijack of your thread.

I think all that are involved are doing a fantastic job and the last show I saw in Watford was fantastic.

My comments about hunt aside good luck to all involved.

Good, valid points and concerns raised by andybc there and a great professional well explained response from Alex Forman! That was really refreshing on ax! Good luck with the show! Looks like Smash fight series is really starting to do things now.

One response by me because ax is just full of negativity which has put the forum down unfortunately.

Smash and organisations thanks for the opportunity and i will be representing Gb Again on the world stage as I've done for 24+yrs.
losing only 1x last year and 6x my whole career.
Not bad for nearly 150 fights and 11 World Titles including big 4 ISKA-WAKO PRO-IKF-WKA.

Farang ive beaten lyndon knowels in a unification world title bout.
Yes Tate beat me in K-1 Rules. Not taking anything away from him but everyone has bad days. That day was mine.

We fight anyone and if the prize and purse is right. That is what fighters do.
Would you decline such an opportunity? No one would.

Billybigconkers
Lomas got kod and fought the next day on another show and got kod again. I said he should rest because he will get punch drunk or worse like get paralised or die and if he is fighting for his kid he should take the rest because he wouldn't be able to look after his kid if he got that badly hurt.

The great thing about people. You can never please them all.
Haters gonna hate, but it's better trying to be the best you can be fighting in different countries and being on tv instead of moaning about something on a forum.

Good luck to all in their ventures.

I read your comments Marlon & what you've typed above is damage control. At the time you justified it by saying there was bad blood between you both. You didn't conduct yourself like a pro, perhaps the beating Tate gave you has humbled you. I look forward to the rematch between Tate and yourself

Cheers for the support for Smash, we have hopefully got some really exciting stuff coming up to talk about very soon. Things are looking brighter for muaythai for the first time in a long time with ourselves at The Smash Series going into europe and representing the UK we hope to do you all proud, we have the Main Event, Supershowdown, Super MTC amongst others and also the likes of Martin in Cork with Siam warriors etc.. The Uk and ireland are in a strong position to do great things if we all support each other.

Team work is paramount... Lets look at the bigger picture.!

Best of luck to all the uk promoters this year if there is anything we can do to help out please dont hesitate to call myself or Chris Knowles and we have brilliant business partners working with us to make it a success who have really got their teeth into grasping what Muaythai is and how we can develop it.

We have created an open page on facebook, its a great tool. Although we started it, it belongs to Muaythai not us, its nothing to do with Smash, we have called it "The Muaythai Evolution" alot of people are really buying into it and sharing opinions and events etc. please feel free to use the page it now belongs to Muaythai all over the world not us as its an open group for anyone

Thanks again for your support guys its very humbling
See you all soon

I'm shocked it isn't Tate or Wakeling above Hunt having this fight....

Tate was poor against Hunt by his standards (o2 last year)and he still made Hunt look like a school boy in the ring...

Can you imagine Hunt getting in the ring with Wakeling..... I would bet my property on it that he would not last the fight whether it was 3 or 5 rounds and under any rules (if this fight ever happens I will match anyones bets against what I say) Wakeling would beat Marlon Hunt straight after he came out of the ring after the Levin fight .. fighting a fresh Marlon...

So I feel for the likes of Howson etc and it pains me to watch BT sport the other week with a few mates (not involved in the sport) and listen to Marlon talking and then my friends saying to me "he must be the best out there in your sport... he is 9 times world champion and he breaks arms with his kicks" etc...)

nothing against the guy as I dont know him and he is active which I respect but he shouldnt be fighting for the above title and is nowhere near the best in his weight catogory... thats just Domestic let alone Europe/World....

again I have no connection with Hunt, Wakeling or Tate so nothing against Hunt.... just think its making a mockery of our sport.

So would you say that putting top Thai fighters in the main k-1 & Glory events is making a mockery of those promotions too?
