What does your gym look like?
Pictures please folks, thought it might be nice to see where people train.

Moved into new premises this new year. Just one angle in this pic. Gym is a kinda T shape. With a further matted area to the right at the top with an office. And a bagwork area and a ring to the left. Plus changing room etc. Few more bits to add, décor and a half cage mainly, but almost there.

good luck Lee. Its hard work, but hopefully worth it. I was painting for weeks day n night as well as running my old gym to get this ready in time. 600sqm of painting x 3 coats, over xmas! it was so rank up there! :-) Looked like this a week before xmas.

Downstairs gym,Upstairs 1500sqft of dollamur training mats with padded walls and a large cage wall section.punch bag zone with 12 punch bags. 26ft octagon and 24ft boxing ring.
free weight, hammer strength & conditioning areas. Neighboured by ULTRAVIOLET cardio suite,Sauna and shake bar. Steam Room, Coffee shop & Juice bar just being sorted in the new unit next door.
Think UV cardio is for improved move with Seasonal affective disorder candidates who do not get enough UV but real reason is too many pervs in our gym looking at the women working out so had to make it dark lol

Dunno if the Northampton gym would make me feel claustrophobic, bit night club-ish for a timid soul such as myself.
Really interesting to see where people train.
haha the fighting bit is all open that only the UV cardio suite, i dont like it personally but the personal trainers downstairs recon the women love the dark room bit :-S
Strength and condition centre downstairs. I don't own this half. But we run a joint membership so all the students who want to, can use it as well.

Woah, some of you guys got a pretty sweet setup.
Come a long way from the days of training in the community center with the tin roof... in winter time.
Doesnt matter what your gym looks like. Seen some of the biggest, fully fitted gyms produce terrible fighters, where as some of the best fighters in the world have come out of an old shack with one bag, but a bloody good trainer!
Saying that, Liams gym does look sick! lol

I agree that nice looking gym does not mean its a factory where good fighters are made, but thats not really the point of the thread, I just thought it would be interesting to see what is out there.
Erm, i wasnt being negative about Liam, far from it, he is one of the best trainers in the UK in my opinion.

I didn't take it as a sleight on Liam (who I don't know), I was simply countering the 'it doesn't matter what the gym is like' comment, as I posted the thread out of curiosity not because I thought that the facilities are what make the fighter.
very true, its handy to have a ring but i could teach on any padded floor with a set of pads+belly pad. our old gym had ice on the inside of the gym so used to move my sofa and hold pads in my lounge lol. just purchased my own belly pad, had a 2nd hand one for 8 years but it was destroyed so had to go (well into my cupboard lol)

My new gym just opened start of the new year.. Nothing too fancy but everything we need.. some free weights, kettlebells, pull up/dip stands around the far side of the ring... Might upgrade to something more fancy in the future but for now I couldn't be happier with this place
