WKA Junior British Muay Thai Open May 3rd 2014...

Its Pete Spensley just sending a short message to say all juniors are welcome to the Wka British Junior Muay Thai Open Championships in Birmingham on May 3rd the biggest event in the Uk with 96 weight categories..

Names are required asap as entries will be capped at 300...

Winners at the Muay Thai event will receive a WKA Championship Belt & Sandee Championship Glove..
The Runner up we Receive a Sandee T-Shirt & Medal both finalist will be invited to the WKA WORLD finals in Italy October ..

On Sunday 4th May at the same venue is Kickboxing & K1 ..

Weigh ins will be staggered with the youngest fighters in first @ 8.30am with a prompt start @ 9.30am ..

1..There will be 4 weigh in stations as you enter the arena where the fighters will be given a colour co-ordinated card with the name,age,club & weight..

2.. The fighters will then go to 1 of 4 desks where the details will be processed & the tournament sheets will be produced..

3.. The 4 rings will moved up to the tiered seating & fenced off so all supporters will have to be in the seating area to watch any fights , all the area behind the rings will be for fighters,officials ,instructors & corner staff..

4..We will have 1 runner per ring with 3 independent judges & a referee , extra officials will be on hand to step in where needed..

The Main Event..
As part of our association with the Celtic Championship Challenge and our long-serving partners Sandee, we are delighted to offer another exclusive opportunity to the up and coming youngsters on the U.K. Muay Thai circuit. Throughout the year the Celtic Championships host numerous high quality events offering the younger generation of emerging UK fighters regular opportunities to test their skills.

On May 3rd the annual WKA British Championships will take place under the Sandee and Celtic banner, where young fighters from around the U.K. & Celtic nations will fight in knockout tournaments for the gold medal positions and a possible place in the newly formed Sandee Academy. As already announced, the standout performer on this day will be inducted into the Sandee academy with future training and fighting opportunities abroad on the horizon.

In addition to this, The Main Event and Celtic team will handpick the ten most outstanding fighters from the past 12 months and invite them, along with a parent, to The Main Event on June 7th, where they will able to experience the ins and outs of a large scale promotion and get a feel for how things work.

We believe in looking after the talented youngsters of today and offering them opportunities to experience the bigger events in order to help prepare them for when they themselves are the headlining names in our sport. Already we have several promising 16-18 year olds matched on the show and we are committed to continuing this trend and showcasing these fighters on a stage where they have previously had very limited opportunities.

Just finalising the entries & weight categories for THE SANDEE WKA British open.

The event will be run across 4 rings from 9am in the morning with a finish time of 6pm..

Can I just say a massive thank you to all that have entered , despite shows clashing & two major championships overseas ( And the very best of luck to all fighters ) Numbers are very similar to last year with many gyms entering for the 1st time..

A major contributing factor to this is the natural progression from the championships to the Super Shows in the UK .

With our ongoing partnerships with the Main Event & SuperShowDown this is truly the stage for the juniors to shine and claim there places on the biggest stages in the world , their has never been a better time for upcoming fighers in the UK.

Once again the talent spotters and assessors from these major shows will be out in force cherry picking the best talent coming through the junior ranks , these championship are the gateway to SUPER STARDOM !!

Wka Brits Sandee British Junior Muay Thai Open 2014..

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everybody that fought ,instructed ,helped , officiated , volunteered on what was a fantastic event , 259 junior bouts all done & dusted by 6.45pm about 45 minutes later than expected..

Of the 259 bouts there was a handfull of contentious decisions which we will review this week but I can 100% sleep well at night knowing every single bout was judged impartially with no bias shown ..

A couple of incidents of bad behaviour & bad sportsmanship this will not be tolerated & will be dealt with !!

For the folk that let us down on the day -- thank you for your best intentions and thankfully we got by , a phone call / text would have been nice but you didnt let me down , you let junior Muay Thai down & end result it is/was your loss..

Plans are already underway for next years open events which will be bigger/better with 2kg & 2yr categories ..
