Enjoyed the show (bit of a ballache having to stand up for all the time), but left a new fan of a few fighters I haven't seen before.

(5) CARLOS VIRENS V MYK ESTLICK 63KGS B CLASS
Myk looked in great shape and with great style.

(7) FEDERICO BEAKA ALFARO V PINDI SINGH 69KGS B CLASS

I really enjoyed this fight, Pindi has come on a lot and has a real slick smooth style, and Federico impressed me also, very very strong and tested Pindi's chin a good few times.

(8) SEBASTIAN FRACZYK V NATHAN EPPS 72KGS B CLASS

I had never seen Sebastian before (ofcourse im a fan of Nathan) but I was really impressed by Sebastian,
good angles, great eye and nice kicks.

(9) DANIEL CROMPTON V CHRIS WHITTLE 61KGS A CLASS
Chris had Danny finished at the end of the 3rd with a great right
hand and then dropped him again with a lowkick,
Danny who I genuinely thought would be finished showed his heart fighting on the last 2.
was a good fight.

(10) DAN MCGOWAN V JORDAN COE 54KGS A CLASS
Dan is obviously a great technician and I had never seen Jordan Coe before but I think his was the performance of the night (for me),
really slippery and great clinch in 4 and 5.
I am a new fan.

(11) WAYNE FISHER V BRAD STANTON 66KGS A CLASS
Brad looked awesome and did a demolition Job.

(12) STEVEN LONG V JOSH TURBILL 68KGS A CLASS
For me this was one of the fights of the night, Ste Long (who
id never seen live before) fought incredibly well (and
to get back in after falling out of the ring showed great heart)
but josh dug really deep and has improved a lot since I last saw him, great elbows, great low kick, great knees but the thing that shone through was his determination.
Great fight.

(13) REECE MCALLISTER V TIM THOMAS 67KGS A CLASS

This was a really exciting fight, the don't blink type,
I was pretty sure Tim would win the rematch but Reece looked
incredible; power, timing and toughness all rolled into one performance.
After the elbow that dropped Tim in the (4th) I thought Tim was finished but tim showed that he is a true champion with a huge heart fighting till the bitter end and always looking dangerous.
Congrats too both on an incredible performance and Reece because he looked truly awesome.

(14) RITTIJACK V PANICOS 60.5KGS A CLASS

Made up for Pan, because after the 3rd I was wincing at Rittijacks ridiculous kicks and great great timing.
Rittijack will be a handful for anyone, his right elbow and left kick are a thing of beauty but pan was working his returns really really well.

mesmerising fight.

Huge congrats to Deano and Liam who both beat elite worldclass fighters, two massive results for the UK by two men who are ambassadors for our sport.

Good show and fights. Took a bit to get going. I'm with jonno too standing for hours was a ball ache, and if you are short you could only see a load of heads!
Overall I enjoyed it and busy, good atmosphere. Well done!!

Just wish these shows would start at 2pm then you can have a good day/early evening and get some decent scran at a proper time, rather than overpriced hotdogs. They go on too long and to many fights

Great show and atmosphere, busiest show Iv ever been too I think? Lay out was bad, the standing situation was really bad, too many fights. Seemed to be too few security people? Once everyone was pissed up on the inner circle and tables and stood up it was a nightmare trying to watch. I was worn out by the time all the main card fights were on. There looked to be issues with the ring aswell, it looked like the fighters were slipping everywhere and the ropes looked a bit slack? That said there was loads of great fights and the atmosphere was awesome. Really great to see so many people gathered in one place in the UK to watch Muay Thai.

As above, I've been considering all day whether to comment on the venue issues but Matthew has explained in a nutshell what the issues were. For me it took enjoyment of the show away, other people I have spoken to have said the same thing. Hopefully the promoter can take the feedback on board and make sure similar issues don't arise next time round.

a great show with some quality fights. gotta agree with the previous comments it was a bad layout for the standing fans, but im sure with the success of this show brian has shown how many people he can draw to a successful event and the venue will be bigger next time. Got to say Reece Mcallister was the stand out fighter of the night for me. He put on a pure masterclass. He has improved from a great fighter to a world class one since i last saw him live. would love to see him vs Brad Stanton, Salah, or the Hitman. Liam was class act as always, and massive well done to Turbill and Panicos both with solid performances.

Agree with above, same issues. And it was hard work trying to see anything! Knackering and way too many fights. I left because of above reasons and missed last 5 fights. Tiered seating like other places is best

If, and I sincerely hope this success can be repeated, but if similar shows, or the next supershowdown/yokkao in the Uk go ahead based on this, clearly needs a bigger venue!! which basically is awesome. Muay Thai going where it is meant to be!

The production needs to be improved. Fighters entrances were very quiet, could hardly hear any music. It lacked atmosphere. Too many fights. We arrivef at 6.30 hoping to miss the undercard but failed to do so

Hi Agree with all the above points, plus there was confusion as to if we could go upstairs or not some of the security said yes others stopped us,we found the way up eventually,I also thought the music was quiet and we couldnt hear the ring announcer well, plus having to pay £35 to stand for 7 hours was a bit much I think:)

Glad people are agreeing for once. The great thing is it proves again muay thai can draw massive crowds! So thats great.

The standing for 7 hours and too many fights seems to be the biggest gripe. Feedback is the only way promoters will know. I have issues with the start time to,if your having that many fights it needs to start earlier. I think 10 to 12 fights inc undercard is enough. Quality rather than quantity.

Chalky agree again sir quality over quantity If Im honest I was getting bored by the time the main events started, not dissing any of the fighters here It was just so long:)

Nice to see what appears to be constructive critisism to try and make these events bettter in the future.

Firstly congrats on putting on such a big show with quality fighters.

Agree with others:

1. Standing for that length of time was killing people
2. Too long, people losing intrest or too p***ed
3. Could barely see from standing areas, couple with the pushing and shoving that comes with people trying to get to the front

For the fringe fans those points will put some poeple off attending another evvent like that especially if they travelled any distance. I left and missed Liam's fight as I was so desperate to sit down in the taxi!

Trying not to be negative as I can understand the size of the promotion, like the others I think decent feedback is all good.

The show was amazing. I wasnt particularly fussed abt going but ended up going and I'm still buzzing, cant wait to fight now. These are the shows any fighter should be aiming to be on, if not then stop fighting lol
Granted I was seated so didnt have the standing issues but people will go and stand in a pub for 5/6 hours n not complain.
Reece McAllister was the stand out for me too, he was incredible.
Fight of the night was liam v bennoui, proper war!!!
Cant wait for the next one!!

Nobody is having a go. It was like some other shows too long and way too many fights. I too was getting bored by the main fights and basically my legs were guving way.
It will put people off going again if not taken on board the comments

The venue is expensive too for food and drink but that is NOT the promotions fault

Dont really think anybody expected those numbers to turn up & the standing situation cannot happen again ,problem for the next event will be finding a tiered seated venue for 3000+ people ..??

The mc was awesome as ever!!

I think complaints abt th length of the show are invalid tbh, when you watch a lot of the undercard on a boxing show the arena is usually half empty. If you dont want to watch the early fights dont turn up 'til later.

Posted: 2014-03-10 09:12:33
Fair point about the early fights BUT in this case and show most people were standing and had to get there early and from the start to try and get a decent spot to see anything! You come late to that and it was a waste of time trying to get any decent view.
Great if you can get/afford a table your guarenteed a seat and view

Music was quiet/build up.... No atmosphere
Even when mc tried to "bull it up"
And could'nt hear him announce anything it was muffled/quiet

Nobody stands in a pub for 7 hours in same spot or without moving to another and having a sit down in between....
There's a lot younger people complaining on here about leg ache than me lol

It was asked on the original thread as the Yokkao posters had the time of 20:00 is this when it starts

The response given was no it starts at 16:15

Let people know when the main card starts (which they do with boxing)then the option you suggest of turning up later is a good one

Just asking as looking to rectify for the next event ??

keepyourguardup - I get what your saying but I got there late say around 5 o clock and was very, very lucky to even get to see the bits of the fights I did see. If I'd got there any later it would have been a waste of time cause I'm a short arse!! (thats no the promoters fault either!haha). On shows such as this with "star studded" cards I agree with the others 10-12 quality fights max. If some of those are the best B class fights the uk has to offer then ok (although personally on shows like this id rather just see FTR but again thats just me). I also usually do turn up to shows late but had a feeling this one would be rammed. Quality over quantity every time. I'm a big muay thai fan but with the sheer level of conditioning of all these atheletes meaning there were very few stoppages, with the best will in the world spectatators get a bit "fighted" out. I really struggled to stay to the end. Glad I did like!

Anyone else have a few problems with the judging or was it just me? As a matter of interest (genuine question this) when Bennoui dumped/tried to dump Liam Harrison out of the ring, it looked to me to be bang out of order. From where I was standing it looked like he picked him up when the fight had been pasued and threw him.Unlike when Ste Long got thrown out the ring which looked like a genuine accident of the fight/ continuous motion from sweeping legs. What are the rules surrounding that if it was deemed to be out of order, is it a foul can points or disqualification be issued?

BTW Iv said a few "negative" things about the show. I want to say I really enjoyed it, the fighters and promoter put on a hell of a show. Fights were exciting and it was a joy to be part of such a large crowd for a UK muay thai event. Top work all involved.

I thought the sexy MC was good but he pronounced my name wrong like all the others hahaha :( (pronounced mike, not mick- awkward spelling!).
It's not often all them names feature on one card so it was a great opportunity to see them all fight without having to go to a load of different shows, although I do agree standing up is a ball ache it was definitely worth it to see the fights!
I think an even bigger venue could have been used, but which one? And the atmosphere was good I though, I nearly went death wen Liam Harrison came out and was fighting haha.
Bennoui, love him or hate him, put on a good show and refused to be intimidated and put on a really good fight with Liam.
Reece Mcallister is the name on everyone's lips and I was amazed at his performance he looked on fire, Brad Stanton ruthless as usual and Chris Whittle from Franks performed well too.
Coe vs McGowan shown the future of Muay Thai is in safe hands too!

Thought I'd give my opinion on some of the fights instead of moaning haha.

ok so here goes, great show from what i saw great seeing everyone there but in absolute honesty i ddint watch one fight from start to finish it was too hard to see, my friends and girlfriend left and i just kept trying to peer over taller peoples shoulders, the two fights i did see most of were dan mcgowan and jordan both were exquisite and i seen tim thomas and reece, really shocked i thought tim would be way too much even though he already lost to him, reece really has just jumped right to the top. i hardly seen jack shit of liams fight who i was there to see mainly none of deans fight which was gutting i almost left also it was just near imposible to see what was going on if you weren't seated. it could have done with being shown up on the big screen!

Posted: 2014-03-10 11:20:41
I was seated so no issue for me on the length of time, it was a fantastic show, absolutely brilliant. Daniel, Reece and Brad were amazing. Liam showed real balls, fair play.
The big screen not showing the fights was an awful shame for people at the back.

Pete, the sound on the far side near the other bar was terrible.
Sounds like fair comments, not moans. All valid.
Atmosphere wasn't as good as other shows I have been or that have been held there.

The point about giving a time for main fights is a great idea as I'd go later then! You could chop at least a hour off it then.

The fighters Supurb condition and matchmaking meant not many stoppages so that adds to the timescale

Main card was quality, couple of dud fights but tbf flew by.

Couldn't here anything Dougie said, only new he was in the ring from the glare of his pearly whites ;)

I can see why Brian wanted to change things to differentiate from the old "rumble" shows with regards to layout ect but, if it ain't broke!

I wouldn't be moaning if I'd stood and paid basic price but to pay premium dollar is a bit much and, why have tables and no food? Genuinely don't understand tables at events anyway but to pay £75 for what is basically a ring side seat? You would fit more seats in without the table and if it was reserved I'd pay top ££ for that

Great fights, as a fan I'd go again but I wouldn't take anyone who didn't have a passion for MT

Venue was rammed and yes shame about no seating but that's down to the success of the show and promotion by Brian and team!

Just wanted to say well done to Seb - gutted that I wasn't able to make it to the show, but from everything I've heard he gave a very good account of himself, stepping up in class against a solid opponent in Nathan Epps.

I think stepping in to take a fight at short notice is (one of) the signs of a true warrior, and although he didn't get the decision he will take a lot out of the fight in terms of experience and exposure.

Having trained with him for a while I think he has all the makings of a future champion - intelligence, solid technique, lightning quick reactions, a big heart and no shortage of confidence in his own ability! Pele & Tricia have done a great job with him so far and he will only get better - definitely one to keep an eye on...

Congrats to the promoters on what looked like an amazing show, and well done to all the fighters who took part. Win lose or draw you carry the sport we all love!

Afew great words on the Main Card from Vinny Shoreman ..

Yokkao 8 bursts into England with unprecedented success: a non-stop Action event that sent the audience who came from every part of England, into a frenzy.

The Bolton arena was the venue picked for Yokkao 8!! In co-promotion with SuperShowDown an experiment that paid off in spectacular way only can be described as breathtaking!!!

As Yokkao,s regular MC Douglas McAdam walked in the ring, there was an excitement in the venue which as electric as Lumpinee stadium itself!!

The line up of this show had the whole of the world talking as the matches on paper split the fight the fans right down the middle and so destiny was was all in the hands of the fighters and teams who wanted victory on this prestigious event!!

After a superb undercard of new talent emerging through the Muay Thai scene in UK the audience was given the perfect starter to the main card of top class fight action!!
Young stars you will be seeing on Yokkao main cards soon enough!!

Fight 1.
Pindi Singh v Federico Beaka Alfaro

After a change of opponent for Singh and a opportunity for Federico was taken with both hands as the knowles academy fighter stalked Singh through every round of this opening fight!!

An almost sinister smile across the face of Alfaro as he answered Singh,s every technique with his own more spiteful shots and even causing a knockdown which Singh bravely got up and carried on fighting although it was too much for the Coventry fighter and lost by decision,a good win for Federico who will give any
69 kilo fighter problems!!

Fight 2.

Chris Whittle v Daniel Crompton

A lot had been talked about in this fight as Whittle only 17 was a new kid on the block though the more experienced and older Crompton wasn't worried he had heard it before!!
Whittle baring a striking resemblance to his coach Frankie Hudders style wise it was like watching a clone although Chris being southpaw, displayed maturity beyond his years!!

After stunning Crompton with a hard left cross and heavy sharp leg kicks, heart had to be shown by the Salford gym fighter and he did so as he pushed forward into the clinch, but a little too late as the rumours were true and Whittle is as a lot of respected fight fans predicted is a new star!!
In only his first A class contest a good win on a big stage!!

Fight 3.

Daniel McGown v Jordan Coe

Much talked about battle of Scotland v England as these two little warriors met!
McGowan has trained a lot at Petchindee gym in Bangkok and Coe at Sumalee boxing gym also,so two well schooled and educated youngsters who know this fighting art very well!
It's was the spiteful elbows of McGowan that caused the audience to wince and as the brave little southpaw Coe took them in his stride!!
Scoring beautifully well with straight knees and showing an edge in strength clinched it for the Superpetch star!!

A birth of a a couple of stars in the making although this night belonged to McGowan and at 17 and 18 respectively seems there are other outstanding performances ahead of them.

Fight 4.

Bradley Stanton v Wayne fisher.

Bradley trained by the very talented trainer Jompop Kiatpontip entered the ring with a true air of menace surrounding him! An almost Jekyll and Hyde character as he changes completely into a ruthless machine when in the ring!
The always tough Fisher had come to fight as he always has done before although in this fight he was in over his head as Stanton
dismantled him in devastating fashion!!
A hard left elbow and head kick had Fisher all at sea but as he bravely rose to his feet the referee Chris Podesta had seen enough and saved him from the oncoming storm!!

Stanton now is ready for the big boys in any part of the world!!

Fight 5.

Steve long v Josh "Scorpion" Turbill

Rematches always seem to carry an air of expectation with them as Long was out to show why won their first encounter and Turbill wanted revenge!!
Both superbly conditioned athletes and highly skilled these two
swapped great scoring techniques and the notable leg kicks and left knee attacks from Turbill catching the judges eye!!
After coming crashing out of the ring onto a table of trophies the teak tough Long battled on and was scoring well with left kicks to the body!!
After five superb rounds on Muay Thai and a majority decision it was Turbill who was deemed the winner in this brilliant showing by outstanding fighters!!

Fight 6.

Reece McAllister v Tim "TNT" Thomas

With fight on the night written all over it the encounter between Reece and Tim didn't disappoint any of the audience here in Bolton arena!!
The handsome blonde haired McAllister looked razor sharp and he started round one and very fast left hook made Tim realise this kid wasn't playing!!
Thomas known as a Ko specialist pressured Reece all around the
ring, though out of nowhere a flying right elbow landed perfectly to the jaw of Thomas!!
In a display of what can only be described as superhuman Tim rose up from the canvas on really badly shaken legs!!
Biting firmly of his mouthpiece Thomas walked forward and using every trick known in the Muay Thai game to try land his right hand bomb!!
Reece tonight was too smart and clever as he moved smoothly around the ring using text book techniques and ring intelligence as he out did the dangerous Thomas in every department!! A fantastic showing by McAllister and superhuman
showing of bravery by Thomas!!
Reece McAllister wins and had everyone in audience talking about his superb display of Muay Thai!

Fight 7

Panico Yusuf v Rittijak Kaewsamrit

Much talked about contest as the fan favourite Panicos was up against his hardest test!
Yokkao wanting to show what good matchmaking is all about as the southpaw thai stylist now living in Bexley London came to win!! the southpaw style of Rittijak known as "joe" was giving Panicos real problems and he looked nervous in first couple of rounds!! The boxing skill of the thai was evident and panicos took heavy shots to his well conditioned stomach!
A real close to and fro contest had Panicos the winner much to the dismay of the corner of the Rittijak!!
Nevertheless a fabulous display of the art that has rematch written all over it!!

Fight 8.

Dean James v Rungravee Sasiprapa

Another intelligent well placed rematch by the matchmakers Didn't let anyone down!!
The last encounter was a clear win for Rungravee in Ireland last year and James promised us he'd learnt from it!! From the outset Dean looked sharp as he displayed a variety of weapons not notably his boxing!!
Seemed like every department that Rungravee tried James had answer as the battle plan was studied and executed with precision and accuracy!!
The end came abruptly as some distress was seen by Rungravee at the start of round 3 as he withdrew with a badly injured left arm!!
A fantastic win for Dean James who is a true gentleman of the sport!!

Fight 9.

Liam Harrison v Houcine Bennoui

Each fight on this card was a headliner in any show anywhere and to top it something special had to happen and it did big time!! The firm favourite of the fans Harrison always displays a ferocious approach to fight and so does Bennoui and a head on clash was predicted but not the level of what was witnessed on this sparkling show!!
Hurtful shots were exchanged as the French man walked forwards the whole fight!!
A right hand high of top of the head for Harrison down on all fours in round 2!
Sensing blood Houcine stormed forward only to be met by a well placed right elbow by the leeds star!! a big round three which was close Harrison needed to use his full range of weapons to keep Haccine in his place!!
A big round 4 the money round as it's called for Harrison as the
crazy tough French man,s nose and a complete mess and a cut from the forehead oozed blood!,!
Round 5 started with a nervous partisan crowd screaming Harrison on as Bennuoi was show boating and showing disregard for the power shots of Liam!!
As both stood not giving an inch in anyway it was Harrison who was landing the more telling blows!!
A points win for Liam harrison in a contest that left even the most hungry of fans satisfied and firmly put Yokkao on the map in UK as the show everyone wants part of!!

I was really looking forward to this but as all the other punters have said it was disappointing because of the problems.

To be honest after that first ever "rumble" show and how well it went and the whole thing,it will be hard to ever top that.
Used to love the carnell centre shows by master sken, great fights and fighters

Mate twerking is not a good idea as keepyerguardup will testify from his private performances lol..

Tweeking and putting Wrongs RIGHT is what will be done..

Brian Calder and the team have already had meetings with the Reebok & all the teething problems from SuperShowDowns 1st event in the north west will be addressed and put right for the next one..

Better & more seating that will be numbered to correspond with tickets..

Many Many more stewards to point people in the right direction working alongside the security guys !!

Better sound/light with hopefully live feed to screens ..

Bigger and BETTER card with timings for 1st part of the show & Main Events ..

Looking at 2pm till 5pm for part 1 and 6pm till 10pm for the Main show..not 100% but working on this..

I bet the seats sell out in record time for the next one !!

And standing tickets will say "STANDING Ground Floor " & Standing Balcony..

Everything is getting put in place right now folks..

Any thoughts ??

Gutted to hear about the sound not being upto it.

Naturally, we sound check before the event and all seemed okay, of course as the venue fills with several thousand people, levels can again need altered.
Unfortunately however, as I am positioned ringside, once the event starts...I only know how it sounds from my position...again, all seemed loud n clear.

A show like Saturday's takes a lot out of an MC physically...I pushed my voice to it's limit to give everyone that BIG intro...I'm gutted if they or others couldn't hear that.

As for Myk Estlick...it was a 50:50 on pronunciation and I'm sorry I got it wrong. When your corner team arrived at the ring I asked them to confirm pronunciation and I corrected it from there on.

If I'm on the next one, I'll give the fighters a slip for them to write out their name phonetically if there is any doubt and I'll make sure that either the dj or another member of event staff can report if the sound is being distorted by the throngs of blood thirsty fight fans!

Sound I dont think was a problem matey unless you were 10-12 deep near the bars ?? which will not happen next time!!
But yes we up the noise level , louder and better tunes between the rounds with a few more different tracks ..

Sounds like you guys have it all under control, great ideas to improve the experience there Peter. I personally would like to see the back of the tables in favour of ring side seats, as I said before, I'd pay top dollar for a reserved ring side seat, It works in boxing.

Anyway, looking forward to you trying to "better" that fight card!!

I have taken a couple of days to sit back and reflect on the show and only one word can describe it...

WOW.

I have to start by thanking Stefania Muay Thai Combat-com who has the same vision as me and is an absolute star. She is a perfectionist and works 24/7 on the show even though she was not well she still did not stop. Everything she does for muay thai is from the heart and when we both feel the same then we cannot go wrong. We worked together and everyone saw the end result on Saturday, we have now taken UK muay thai to a different level. We are a great team and we want everyone to know that THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING, together we sold out the Reebok.

I would also like to thank Peter Spensley whom out of everyone helped me the most , I cannot do this by myself, I live in another country, and to you my friend I thank you for everything you are a diamond, I appreciate everything that you have did for me and I will never forget that.

I also have to thank Darren Phillips who was there for me anytime of the day and always offered to help me whenever I needed it, I won't forget that mate thank you.

And to two very very good friends of mine Douglas McAdam and Vinny Shoreman what can I say other than you are the best it's as simple as that, no one else even comes close to you at what you do.

And to the fighter's, coaches and all the staff that made the show a HUGE success, thank you you all made this show very special.

What were the highlight's for me ? Who were the best fighter's on the day ? My answer is EVERY SINGLE one of them that climbed through those ropes, you were ALL amazing.

I can't go without saluting my glove runner's Pitbull and his team, they are unreal at what they do and everything is spot on and we had a right laugh at the bar, I love that part sitting with people in a great atmosphere enjoying yourself, nothing better.

I am very happy and this is by far THE best show that I have ever promoted, THANK YOU to everyone that was involved.

If all the things Paul said get put right the next one could be the best show ever in the UK,please dont book fighters that people really want to see ie Lumpinee Champions if they are fighting top quality opponents a week before its asking for problems:).

Listen paul please get your facts right before posting about something you know NOTHING about, Pakorn was booked before the lumpinee fight, unless you actually KNOW what happened then please do not assume that you know because you clearly don't thank you.

Ok Brian point taken but it has happened before with other promoters and people including me get peeved with it its disappointing, someone was out of order putting the fights on so close so as a person who has promoted in the past I understand what you must of felt,at least now myself and others know that in this case it wasnt a fault of yours, thanks:)

Saenchai and Pakorn are gobshites I reakon. Both fought on Lumpinee the week before huge fights abroad, both canceleld huge fights abroad for whatever reasons. Even if the reasons are legit it looks dodgy and they knew they already had fight commitments elsewhere before booking on the Lumpinee show. Thing is they know they can get away with it because regardless of what they do we'l most likely have them back!

hahahhaha mathew! mate we all know thai's like a party just as much as we do, i just get the cynical feeling that they went boozing after the show for a few days! why would you wait a couple of days before the show for a visa if it was booked 6 months before! it always happens win a big fight take the whole family partying for a week! my mate wimbledon sitepitak won a big fight in OZ got paid about £4k come back and blasted every penny on boozing until it had run out of cash then started training again!

We ended up selling a lot of tickets (Standard to VIP) to people who wanted to come and see Daniel fight Jordan and they were made up of a broad spectrum of people ranging from ex fighters who new lots about Muay Thai to people who experienced there first ever Show, most of the 1st timers were either Football, rugby or Boxing fans...I always ask people especially the 1st timers what they thought and I got a little bit of feedback from Saturday....

Quite a few commented that was a bit of a pain trying to see all the fights from the rear of the venue when standing and a few commented about the big screen not showing the action live was a shame and would have enhanced the experience quite a bit also the sound ie ring announcments and entrance music etc was very low backing up a lot of the previous comments...however they said the standard of the main card was excellent and would gladly come back and watch again...The comment which was most pleasing was somebody who watches a lot of boxing said the atmosphere was brilliant and that the respect shown by supporters of various fighter to others was excellent and unlike he had ever experienced at many Boxing shows!! (Muay Thai Family give yourself a pat on the back)

I would just like to say a big thanks to Brizo Calder for getting Dan his first big break on a big UK show...So professional to deal with and nothing was ever a problem when i contacted him....Personally i thought the fights were excellent Reece, Dean and Liam were amazing but i must also just comment on Dan and Joradan as it was the fight which obviously meant more to me....Both lads were brilliant and I think they both deserve a massive pat on the back for the way conducted themselves before during and after the fight...Daniel won the fight but both lads scored a victory for the younger generation and at a time when so many negative things are said about teenagers (sometime rightly so) these 2 young guys were perfect role models for there peers showing skill way beyond there years!!

Cant wait for the next show!!!

The show was fantastic, it was my girlfriends first show and she had an amazing time, we had the Golden outer ring tickets and the view was excellent, although some of our friends were having issues with the normal seating, possibly next time some stage decking to teir the seating? the only problems we had were with the quality of the entrance music speakers as even though we were near the ring the music sounded distant, great card and great show would definitley go to another

Paul,Im totally in agreement with you about your Daniel and Joe,It was a great show of Muay Thai respect/culture and Technique from both lads,as you say Teenagers get a bad rap and sometimes rightly so but those 2 young lads are awesome and hopefully in the future they can be role models for other youngsters, well done both lads I loved that contest from start to finish:)

I know I am probably very far behind everyone else with this, I have only just watched the post show press conference.

Houcine Bennoui said he thought he won the fight. Can anyone who is better at scoring Thai Boxing than me offer an opinion? I did think Liam Harrison won, I thought it was close but definitely Liam won.

Did anyone disagree with that decsion? I heard comments about a couple of the other fights but no one I spoke to thought this was the wrong decision.

I did notice that Houcine seems to talk about elbows having maybe won Liam the fight but it is my understanding elbows don't score very well unless they cut?
