Just wanted to get everyone's opinions on Glove brands.

A lot of friends swear by twins ETC.

personally i would want to try the gloves on before i fight/train in them but that limits the options as many independent shops don't stock a massive range, so sometimes we don't have this luxury.

what do people recommend?

Cheers rich

Gloves may come down to personal preference so what one may say is their best may not be another's best pair of gloves.

I have had (used and abused) Windy, Twins and Sandee Velcro gloves. I have owned a pair of Sandee lace up's which I gave away after 3/4 uses (to help a brother out) :-). Ive used fairtex and Raja one time only (I liked the Raja).

But my current gloves which are a pair of red 10oz Yokkao lace up's and a pair of black 14oz Yokkao lace up's are by far the best gloves I have had/used.

There not the cheapest but a lot of good gloves are not really cheap, but when you consider how much you use them and how long they last it's worth the money spent.

If you haven't had the pleasure of training in lace up's then id give it a go. I wouldn't go back to Velcro again if I could help it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers for the reply.

I was looking at lace ups as a fight glove.

It would be great to use lace ups for training but sometimes you just don't have the time or people around to help lace you up for training so for practicality velcro wins out.

I'm currently using a pair of Tuff 14oz for training and Twins 10oz for fighting etc.

Budget isn't really an issue so i will look into the Yakkao.

I like pretty patterns though so im sometimes swayed by the pictures lol

You can use lace up's perfectly fine for training without having to tie them up. You just loop the lace round your thumb a few times and then squeeze your hand into the glove. The fit is still tight and good to train with. And when you tie them up properly it's even more nicer.

A lot of people at the gym now using lace ups and all seem very happy with them.

it just depends on how you like them to feel? i wear one raja and one fairtex because i like my left hand in the raja which is more padded and i like my right hand to be abit looser in the fairtex, it all comes down to personal preference.
