Hey all,

We are pleased to announce that the IFMA World Championships next year will be held in Bangkok – Thailand.

For those that may be unaware how to get involved with the selection process for the teams heading to the Championships, below you will find all the information you need.

Currently the UKMF have been running Northern and Southern Team GB Trials every 6-10 weeks, with fighters competing under stringent IFMA regulations. It is expected that the UKMF Amateur Finals next year will be held in Cambridge, after a successful finals this year was held in Darlington.

The selection process can be seen in real time as its happening through our Team GB specific Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/tgbt ), which is updated as the results are posted from each trials.

Here you can see who is currently being selected at which weight category, where/when they won their bout, and who you may need to challenge in order to be selected. There is also a lot of other information there regarding the team and IFMA.

Of course not everyone who makes the selection process will be able to go, due to certain criteria not being made.

So here is the obvious basics:

1) Your gym must be a registered UKMF Gym prior to entering into the selection process.
2) Your fighter competing must be a registered UKMF License holder prior to competing.
3) Your gym must have more than 10 students registered with the UKMF in order to be considered for funding.
4) You fighter may go with the team to the finals, if you decided to fully fund them yourself.

If you have any further questions about the Amateurs, please
contact
myself or Tommy Collins (tommycollins1@btinternet.com).
Yours in Muaythai
