It is with great pleasure I announce the main event bout for Last Man Standing & Super Fights on Saturday the 25th April, at The Al Miraj Banqueting Suites, in Birmingham:

Andy “The Punisher” Howson (Bad Company/Black Widow/England) VS Thanit “Boom” Watthanaya (Thailand)

This amazing rematch is already scheduled to be one of the biggest International fights to hit UK shores in many years. These two fighters originally faced off in early December 2012 on the epic Muay Thai In America event and was voted the best fight in North America that year.

Defined by Muaythaiauthority.com as “In what can simply be described as a back and forth barn burner of a fight Andy Howson and Thanit Watthanaya showed nothing but heart in their bout”. After a steady start from both fighters in the opening round of the bout, both fighters established a firm start to the bout with the pace quickening in the second round where Watthanaya scored a knockdown against Howson, with a perfectly timed vicious right hand.

Howson fought back aggressively in the third round and was able to score a knock down against Boom with a strong punch combination sending Watthanaya to the canvas. Once Boom returned to his feet he appeared dazed and Howson in typical “Punisher” style pounced in to finish the fight and both fighters continued to exchange great shots in a very exciting, fast paced round.

In the fourth round Howson again started dominant over his opponent with vicious punch and kick combinations and again scored with another knock down against Watthanaya and at this point was ahead on the judges score cards and comfortably in control of the bout. This again proved to be a great round with both fighters engaging and exchanging leather throughout.

In the fifth round Watthanaya connected with a violent right hand which sent Howson hurtling to the canvas. Howson tried to get up immediately but it was clear to see he was hurt as he wobbled, trying to regain his balance and composure, but the damage was done and the referee was forced to stop the fight. This was a huge victory for Watthanaya who was overcome with emotion after the fight, this proved to be a very exciting fight.

The rematch has all the makings of being nothing but a war, both fighters have the upmost respect for one another’s ability to KO the other and will bring all the have to the ring on Saturday the 25th of April to capture the highly prestigious ISKA World Title at 53.5KG.

The show will also feature our flagship event Last Man Standing £3000 KO Tournament, featuring the very best fighters in the UK at 61KG, all contesting under Full Thai Rules for the prize money and the title of Last Man Standing 2015! Tournament entrants already include highly rated Jose Valera (Team Tieu), Ross George (Kaang Raang), Alex Bublea (Knowlesy Academy), Martin Avery (Lumpini Muay Thai), Cathel McDermott (Shin Kick), Luca Roma (De Gym), Mike Bateman (Super Gym), Luke Bennett (Masda), Paul Barber (Banfleet/Double K), Steven John (Eagles) & Anthony Ferguson (Renegade) Reserves included.

Our Super Fights on the night will also include Nathan Bendon (Corefit), Prathet Sor Thanikul (8 Limbs), Leko Wright (Black Widow), Joe Newton (Evolution), Corey Robbins (Black Widow), Luke Greenshields (Black Widow) and Naqqash Khan (Black Widow). The show will also have an additional supporting card of preliminary bouts featuring the best up and coming talent in the Midlands taking on contenders from around the UK, this promises to be a sell-out event and the atmosphere will be electric, get your tickets early for this one!

It’s now time to announce our second co main event Super Fight:

ISKA Commonwealth Title Fight
Nathan Bendon (Corefit) V Danny Harrison Little (Legions Gym)

These two rising stars of UK Muay Thai have both progressed rapidly through the ranks in recent years and are two of the most promising fighters that the UK has produced in recent times.

Bendon current ISKA British Champion has had a string of victories against some of the biggest names on both the UK and International Muay Thai scene including Brian Totty, Dennis Pacifico (Italy) and Azize Moustakim (France). He now intends to move up the UK rankings by dethroning current ranked UK #4 Harrison-Little and adding the prestigious ISKA Commonwealth title to his collection.

Harrison-Little current ICO British Champion has also been on a very similar path to his counterpart Bendon and has raked up a series of victories both domestically and internationally. His most recent accomplishments include defeating very strong Chinese fighter Guo Dong at the S1 Tornament with a sensational head kick knock out in the second round, as well as a recent victory at Lumpini Stadium against Ariya Singpatong via round 5 KO.

Two fighters, similar paths and accomplishments, who will prevail as the victor?

Andy very shortly you have your eagerly awaited rematch with Thanit “Boom” Watthanaya, how has your fight preparation been for this bout?

Andy: Yes the big rematch is just 4 weeks away now and I'm very excited for it. Preparation is going good, my weight is on track and I'm feeling fit and strong for the fight. I'm lucky that I've been getting the chance to head back home to Leeds every other week and get some great training in with Richard Smith and all of the Bad Company guys. Getting pads with Richard, Davy Mac, James France so far and this coming week Liam is going to start to spend time padding and clinching me also, now his fight with Pakorn is out of the way. Doesn't really get much better 😊 and the sparring here is next level and at all the guys are pretty huge next to me so I've been smashed about a fair bit in sparring and clinching but loved every minute of it, its setting me up well for the fight. Not to mention sessions with my strength and conditioning coach Steven Campbell this week, everything will just make me as fit and strong as i can possibly be. (Touch wood)

In 2012 Thanit stopped you in the 5th round of an amazing fight on Muay Thai in America (MTIA), how has this impacted on you?

Andy: After the fight i was totally heart broken and i questioned my ability and if i still had it in me to fight, that was the second fight in a row where i had clearly got the fight won and in the bag, but made a silly mistake or 2 and ended up paying the ultimate price and getting stopped. But after having a chat with a few people (Vinny Shoreman especially) I realised we all make mistakes and i vowed never to make that same mistake again, since then I've had great fights, won rematches and gained the WBC World Title so things are going well. I know the mistakes i made and you won't be seeing them again this time around. If anything that loss actually helped me regain my hunger and love for the sport and just made me hungrier to keep going and achieve all i can whilst i still have the time.

The rematch is for the ISKA World Title at 53.5KG has this motivated you to train harder?

Andy: To be honest the title is just an added bonus, the real motivation for me is the rematch with Thanit himself. Thanit is a great guy but i feel handed him the win rather than he took it from me. A mistake cost me the fight and my stupidity, that will not happen this time around.

What are your predictions for this fight?

Andy: I don't do predictions but all i will say is hold on to your hats, the last fight had 4 knockdown in it and was an amazing fight, this will be just as exciting i can assure you.

Do you feel you can beat Thanit this time around?

Andy: There is no "feel" about it, I KNOW i have the tools and the weapons to beat Thanit, i had him beat in the last fight, as i say a mistake took that away from me and i will not and refuse to make that same mistake again. This time the fight is in front of MY fans and MY family and MY gym memebers/fighters i will not be messing this up.

In the end i decided to come to the show and i have to say... wow amazing!
The fights on the card where cracking. I thought that the italian would of been a roll over for andy, but how wrong.

To many good fights on the card to pick out, but stand out bloke of the night was defiantly naquash from black widow.

Only bad thing probably the worst venue I've been to.
