He got lucky ?? and why is that then ??

Posted: 2015-07-03 13:14:58
I got lucky how?
I caught Pauls kick off balanced him and landed a kick to the head. I've said already I regret the result of the kick but don't be mistaken I would throw the kick again and I'm sure paul would do the same.
I wasn't lucky it was basic muay thai. Yes paul took the first, I would say I edged the 2nd and imo I was slightly ahead in the 3rd and given the damage I would have taken it.
Would there be he same outcry if paul had landed the jumping knee he tried in the 1st? No of course not. People expected paul to win because of his trickery and overlooked the fact I'm actually not bad at this. Maybe if I had been a cunt and celebrated abt the win but I didn't then people would have thought that I was the better fighter but my first concern is for my opponent, how it will effect him and his family ,after such an injury it doesn't mean that I don't think I deserved the win or maybe if I was another English fighter then it would have been accepted more readily.

I only have so many fights left before I retire and I want to improve my international standing as a fighter as I feel I have proven time nd again that I am one of the best in the uk.
So please, to coin a Scottish phrase, gies peace n move on.

Got to say in my own opinion that when that fight finished, Keith was in control of the fight and ahead on points. Paul K is a very good exciting fighter but is clearly more suited K1 style/oriental rules than he is muay thai.

We've all seen similar performances from Paul against the likes of Darren O'Connor and Ste Melody before. Paul comes flying out the blocks throwing lots of techniques ,not necessarily scoring techniques and then tends to fade as the rounds go on .That's not to take anything away from Paul as obviously Ste, Darren and Keith are all top fight

Tooter yes everyone is entitled to an opinion but not their own facts, you seem to be disputing the fact that there was a win. Why does he need to do it again? Move on and deal with it.

back to the show- looks v exciting - Saenchai AND Singdam on the same show.

I agree with this. Greg doesn't usually leave much time or space for his opponents to think let alone breathe. That said, Saenchai has probably fought more tall, pressure fighters than other people have had fights so he will have a plan, probably similar to Pakorn's.

I hope people won't start saying Saenchai is washed up if Greg beats him (they probably will anyway) because he certainly hasn't looked it in his recent fights.
peetee
Posted: 2015-08-06 12:06:22
saenchai isnt washed up , but in my opinion hes a few years past his best, heslooked good in 3 round fights, greg has a chance , but i still think saenchai has too much in his locker for him

greg v liam would have been abetter fight, its the fight all brits wanna see

why spend huge amounts to bring over , past there best thais, when there is a bigger domestic match up,
Raymond Bennett
Posted: 2015-08-06 14:45:58
As you say, I think the pressure will start to tell from round 3 and 4. I think it will be as good a fight as vs Liam.

Has Saenchai ever lost to a farang?

Briancal

Past there best Thais lol, Saenchai one of THE best thais that ever lived, Pakorn Current Lumpinee Champion, Singdam Current Lumpinee Champion. Suppose you can't please everyone lol. Funny because I don't see other shows being critisised for bringing over thais that no one has ever heard of.

You can't argue with the quality of the main fights, to say "past it" is a bit much. Even if they are the "It" is so far above anyone else's level they would have to be way way way past it .... and still have one arm behind their backs

I would say it looks like the best card in the UK ever
peetee
Posted: 2015-08-07 01:12:33
is singdam still current lumpines champ, i havent seen him fight for a while

i wasnt knocking anyone just my opinion, but if saenchai was at his best hed still fight in lumpines or raja every month, ofcourse this is a great card, but surely you can see my point, liam v greg would sell as many tickets as both those fights for far less expense,

the cost of paying for the thais could be split and given to liam and greg, setting the bar and paying these guys what they truely deserve

Briancal
Posted: 2015-08-07 07:15:59
Yes Singdam is the current lumpinee champion
AgentC
Posted: 2015-08-09 08:53:42
Saenchai is definitely not washed up man, is he at his best? Probably not. But he is still more than capable of competing at the highest level whether in thailand or internationally. He probably is making much more money fighting internationally and holding seminars and stuff so why would he want to train so hard and fight so hard for a fraction of what he is already making.

Yokkao definitely has the best match-making internationally man, would love to see dean james and daniel mcgowan against top thais too, to add on to the already amazing card!

VIP Ringside Tickets are now completley ****SOLD OUT****
Bronze tickets are now all out, I have none left.
The only tickets I have left are :
Gold Outer Ringside £60
Silver £45
And they are all starting to go now, this is not a sales pitch this is just facts. I will not have any Gold or Silver left at this rate, so yet again we are looking at another sold out event. to be clear, these Yokkao shows are always incredible and the card speaks for itself but surely people must agree that this woman interviewing fighters is so bad at her job ? just watched with some friends who don't follow the sport and they are all laughing taking the p!ss

Somebody speaking bad English to somebody who doesn't speak English is not the ingredients for a very good interview. Scrap them, I agree with Luckybags, they are painful to watch.

reminds me a bit of Remy Bonjasky with his flying knees does Glunder- but is this FTR against Saenchai?

i've been told:-

Keith McLachalan was "fucking" good- was he fighting at a higher weight btw, usually 57kg?

Saenchai kept kissing his opponent and showboating ?

and that Pakorn is sexy ? ive met him and i think he looks like Lee Van Cleef

can I ask if Rory Crawford and Keith McL would be a good match up , under 63kg?

Hawkman I usually fight 59-61kg but as it was a weeks notice it was 63kg.
It would have been a shame for Ian to have trained all that time and not get to fight on, possibly, the biggest show ever in the UK.

Rory Crawford? That would be up to my coach, Guy Ramsay, at the Griphouse. He's the gun, I'm just the bullet.

ye s abig show and well done for stepping in and winning at such short notice.

Would take me 5 years to get down to 63kg and that would mean a gastric band, freqeunt colonics and amputating one of my legs as well.

nae bother, only suggested that as i thought it might be a good fight. I know you have a fight coming up soon at Oran Mor anyway so good luck on that one

A bit late to the party here but, just came across this full fight on youtube.

Is is just me, or is that one one for history books?
