I don't think the issue is that women fighters don't want to go to thailand, it's usually just a matter of $, to get there. There are still a lot of promoters who don't think women should be fighting and wont put any effort into matching girls internationally.
In Australia we tend to fight 3 x 2 mins for amateur fights, then as people get better they might fight 3 x 3, or 4 x 2. Title fights are usually 5 x 2. And the only womens fights with elbows I've heard of over here, the women have to wear elbow pads. I don't think the girls are as interested as the guys to get tough scars on their faces. Women are still expected to look pretty and feminine once they step out of the ring, so big scars from elbows can become a problem in the rest of our day to day lives.
