Please help........Chernobyl Disaster. The following is a letter from Nai Khanom Tom instructor Allan Gibson.

I will be travelling to Belarus with members of staff and kids from the local Grangemouth High school for a week in July 2006 to assist with the building of a much needed roof structure for a childrens play area. Belarus is the nearest safe area to live/work from the region affected by the disaster. Every person and the environment was affected and the effects could last for hundreds of years.

The Childrens Centre caters for children that have been affected by radiation from the Chernobyl incident. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the disaster. There is over a hundred children at the centre, some are orphaned and there is a limited facility for parents of the remainder to stay with them. The work of BUSKIT is to raise awareness and funds that contribute to this centre in an effort to help the children. Most have terminal illnesses.

Could the Scottish Thai Boxing Association, affilitated clubs and any other club wishing to help, please do so by donating T-Shirts or similar clothing for the children to wear. This could be delivered to them on this planned trip. It would be a good publicity event for Thai Boxing and Martial Arts as a whole but more importantly it would be a significant contribution to a worthwhile cause.

Thanks Allan G.

p.s. A box will be available at the fights in Airth for anyone wishing to donate any T-shirts and anyone else wishing to donate to this good cause please contact me by e-mail
