I think it will take a very measured calm response to answer the relative questions correctly (and honestly), while showing that this is a positive sport with many other attributes that it can bring than only the fighting side of the sport. Yes, there is competition, but as you have stated in the past only about 10% of people compete.
I agree with Dave in that, although it maybe fine and dandy wearing a shiny shellsuit for the gym or wild chav-blinging gold....you should think about the perception that you are going to portray.
I know, we all know you as Sandy "McMad-Man-Mad-As-A-box-of-Frogs" Holt, but will this really come across well on TV or make us look like a circus comedy act?
This is almost an interview of acceptance by the general public, and so first impressions are PARAMOUNT, no matter how zany your personality is when people get to know you.
I am sure you will understand where I am coming from, and its mates who are trying to offer their perspective on this MAJOR media opportunity, not having a go at you or your dress sense (how ever questionable it may be!!! :P) :)
Yes - There needs to be the passion in the responses, but you dont want to be riled by some of the instigating things they may say. I mean this is a trait you could exploit if they do start to be antagonistic, is recognising it, pointing it out to the audience/viewers, say that this is a personality trait that thai boxing has taught you....and then go on to answer the question in a calm manner.
We dont want it turning in to Jerry Springer or Jeremy Kyle.
Good luck with the show mate, hope it all goes well.
We will all be routing for ya!
