I have to say this was the start of the sport in the uk. I have the pleasure to have been one of Howard Browns instructors. I have had the priveledge of watching many of his fights. I also spent a lot of my early days training with Arthur O Loughlyn, he has to be the hardest man I have ever met, and the best sence of humour to go with it.Cash I have had the priveledge of being on under cards of some of his fights.Dev well he has cornered me on a few occassions,in the good old days when you turn up to a show with your bag on your own.
Levi Lovell(can't spell),Owen Comri,Fidel Castro Smith. Both of these have instuctored me over the years. Fidel was my main one, he was British champ when there was only one . He also went on to become a pro British boxing champ.
Howard was the best by a mile.He was such a man that he refed my early shows free of charge and traveled to Derbyshire to train my Nick Tabron and Rob Perry. All without any cost.
Steve Tabener was also one of the best,Hard,Self tought and a man that would put himself out for any one.
But there was a lot of unsung hero's, being these fighters such as Colin Manterfield. he was one of Locyies trainers and has produced some great fighters himself. He was Barnsley Kickboxing.
Myself started the sport in Derbyshire and surrounding areas and have produced fighters such as Sara Hall,Scot Taylor,Nick Tabron.Dale Wood and many more.
Without these peaple the sport would have never taken off.
