Just thought I would put the above pic that Ax Team posted on from the very early days of kickboxing 1980 this fight was against hardnut John Everard from Barnsley who was ranked number two in Britain at the time,this was when we had only one champion at each weight and not 40.This was only my fourth or fifth fight but I was tempted into the ring with John by a generous purse of �15 or a pair of jeans,I took the money as �15 went pretty far in those days!!! lol.
P.S. Just look at that crowd [and look at all those glasses of booze!] this fight was held in Barnsley and the locals were always brilliant for support unless you fought the local lads,like I did that night!...Phil
