Hi Sandy,
Yes I was there that night when Ronnie got caught with that punch I could'nt believe it!,I was pals with both fighters and it was awkward because they both asked me what the other was like beforehand and I reassured them that they would do well, personally I thought John Everard was way out of his depth when all of a sudden he pulled that punch from hell out of the bag,wow what a punch! I still remember the loud smack when it connected everyone was gobsmacked!
Another shocker that same night was 'The Wigan Hammer' Steve Taberner beating the 'unbeatable' Steve Babbs,the last time I met Steve Taberner he was doing photo's for the Quest show in Birmingham during the mid-90's,a big fighter with a big punch and a really nice guy....Phil
