I'm glad others also remembered George and yes it really is a small world apart from Graham Abdullah and Gordon Ingles I'd forgotten about Carl Knight he was very mild mannered but technically very, very good.Do you also remember Paul Mason he was very fast and went in very hard when we sparred, and my old friend Carl Spencer from Doncaster,Wow!!! me and him go back many years, all of these did semi-contact but still they were good times.

I remember Pete Heath he was teaching for George and I think his sister was going out with George who was laid to rest in Armthorpe,Doncaster where Pete used to live in those days.I only met Pete a few times as George began introducing gradings for his kickboxing classes and all I wanted to do was train and fight hence the reasons behind my decision to eventually go it alone.

How are you doing mate the last time we met was at Leeds at the Dekkers v Bad Company show,as it happens I do have some old programmes which I saved from my times at Master Skens so hopefully I can get some of these up too as long as no one thinks I'm going off topic "80's kickboxers Your Memories Please...." Oliver,Humphrey,Phil Nurse,Ronnie Thompson,Bobby Beckles,Junior Salmon,Adrian [Carl] Thompson,Sandy ? lol,the list goes on I was very priviledged to have trained alongside you lads in the late 80's.
Oliver Harrison got me into perfecting body shots once,we were both sparring when Oliver dropped me with a body shot that even Andy Howson would have been proud of!!,Master Sken had just popped out of the gym before it happened and I was left dying on the floor feeling faint and sick,Oliver told me to get up before Master Sken got back I could barely stand when Master Sken returned but Oliver pushed me and literally held me up whilst we fought on not wanting to show Master Sken any signs of weakness!!!Thanks to Oliver I worked on my body punches which helped me in my boxing and future kickboxing fights.
I will have some more pics of 80's memories tomorrow...Phil
