I was there when Danny Bill fought Dekker. Dekker was not in good shape - he had a heavily strapped up leg and looked in pain with it. I think he had not long since fought. Danny Bill weighed in heavy and did not look in good shape, and was bigger than Dekker.
It was a great fight - but Dekker never really opened up, just stayed defensive and Bill showed some great skills but never realy went for it either. The fight was on the Welterweight tournament in Nice that Sami Khebchi promoted, but not as part of the tournament.
I also fought on the same show as Bill a couple of times. Once in Paris when he fought Eval Denton. We never saw him weigh in (he didnt turn up to the official weigh in) and he looked a lot bigger than Eval on the day of the fight. He stopped Eval with low kicks. This was a rematch - Eval had beaten Bill a few years previously in the UK when Danny was much younger.
The second time was in Prague against Peter Kley. Danny weighed in heavy and was sent to skip some weight off. He came back half an hour later and had lost 0.1kg! The promoter just let the fight go ahead with Bill with about 3kg advantage. Having said that he put on a Thai Boxing masterclass and wpon on points.
