Have to say i am absolutely gutted about this result! I understand what it is like to have your motivation suffer and your heart not be in something at certain times and can only imagine the level of anxiety those feelings would cause for those competing at such a high level of the sport; as both these fighters do; so my heart goes out to Marlon as feeling like that is not a nice place to be.

But have to say as a fan and participant of the sport i am absolutely gutted at this setback. I was so excited for this fight and the credibility and recognition it would bring to the sport. Both fighters are proven world class performers and with Marlon having blazed a trail through the World Titles at the higher weights and clearly on his way to K1 what better way to bow out of the sport than to fight THE widely accepted pound for pound UK number 1? Both fighters have done amazing things in the sport and i am inspired by and look up to both of them. I feel however that with Orchard having occupied the top spot for so long it would have been a step up in class for Hunt from World class to the absolute elite (where Marlon has earned his place) and would have sealed or confirmed both mens legacy. Genuinely hope this doesnt end up being the one that got away, as while i feel that John has been around at the top long enough to go down as a legend either way, i feel that Marlons rise while; awe inspiring and rapid; needed this fight to cement his status and legacy and leave all questions answered. Hope this can be rematched asap!!!
