Thanks, no offence taken, i have no idea how amateur is scored as i have never done it before but to fight anyone even if they were not from the uk was better for me than getting a walkthrough as i needed the practice the same as my 16yr old lad, neither of us have worn a headguard before let alone a bodyshield so was good practice for us and him being in the junior category also could have walked through but prooved he is good enough for the team by beating a current adult team member i expect him being in the junior category to have more success than most of us including myself in chasing a gold medal.
Callan was proper sound after the fight as was bill had a nice chat with both looking at the camera footage one of the guys parents taped it was a win under muay thai but under anything else i dont know as i am not qualified to comment so it would be foolish to say i thought i won under any other system apart from the one i am most familiar with and have fought under being A Class muaythai. I would be happy to fight callan A class 5x3 ftr at 65-66kg my usual fight weight not at 71+ which he came in at as i could only get to 69kg and i had a good breakfast that day. Hopefully this one can be nipped in the bud and we can look at the positives of the event moving forward, i know ryan is putting a lot of work into this and it is evolving with every event, my lot are certainly keen to learn and apply what we need to give us a greater chance of a medal.
