just wanted to congratulate unleashed for a great show - the fights were all good, the atmosphere was great with a packed house, the officiating was proffessional, and the sportsmanship from the competitors & coaches was top notch.
this show was a great example of our wonderfull sport - and that even includes the banter from the opposing spectators! its all part of it guys, and means nothing in the cold light of day, because all the fights were fairly matched, fairly fought and fairly judged.
well done to all - congratulations to all the champions of the night, and even to the losers, I have to say that everyone contributed to a great night of fight entertainment, which hopefully means that all those spectators will happily come & pay to watch again.
i was not let down with chantels performance, not having seen her fight before but having heard great things about this talent for some time now, i was definitly not let down, and i hope her progression continues. colin previously doing as good a job as possible, and now neil no doubt will continue that.
i also like it when i am right about a prediction - when karl johnston had his first fight, i said that i expected him to be one of our next good up & coming fighters, and again, he has not dissapointed! anouther lovely performance from this young man, and i am now firmly a fan!
i loved the irish jig in the crowd when the galway lad won - what a nice finish to a fretfull situation where we nearly didn't have an opponant.
have to put my hand out to ronnie - he demonstrated possibly the first real test for qasim, and although perhaps missed the finishing touches on nailing qas, certainly put up a fantastic performance. the kick count neglect did have an impacted, but it is was it is, and its not what should have happened that counts, it is what did happen, and a firm winner was found. well done to qas, a deserving british title holder.
ronnie also showed mature & professional sportsmanship, and he has my instant respect for that, along with the respect from probably everyone else in the room.
it was nice touch to have stacy give over the belt, and i also wish him all the best in his progression up to european & world level.
i know murray didn't win, but it was a fine performance, and there is nothing there to not hold your head up, i look forward to his next fight too as he is coming on really well.
all in all a good nght, and its a pleasure to see that we are moving into an era where we are starting to acknowledge structure rules and professionalism.
dave & lee have held a good account of how making that investment into progression for our sport can be rewarding.
