As a new comer to the world of Full Contact I was delighted to witness first hand the level of care and consideration given to the safety of all the young fighters who competed in the 1st JFCC event.

I stood in for my sons coach due to him unfortunately being unavailable to attend and therefore took part in the Coaches meeting held prior to the start of the competition.

All aspects of the event were explained clearly in the presence of the judges, referees and the coaches and it was clear that safety of the fighters was paramount in the minds and efforts of the organization.

I have taken part and attended in numerous so called "Light Continuous " events over the years with every member of my family and can assure anyone who was not at the event that the competitors were in my opinion safer than they could have been with the benefit of high quality refereeing and the use of the "Standing Eight Count" to protect the fighters from taking unanswered shoots.

I am not trying to insult any of the organizations which carry out "Light Continuous” events as I have no doubt that it is incredibly difficult to maintain a high level of quality refereeing over numerous mats at the larger events.

My son has has an extensive ITF TKD background to an international level and has been training within a Full Contact club for the past year and this as I mentioned was his 1st F/C bout and I at no time considered him in more danger than he is during any other event we have attended over the past 10 years.

I look forward to seeing my son compete in any future JFCC event.

As I said just my opinion.
