Actually that does warrant a reply Ryan.
You are totally correct, the young Ali was heavily involved and influenced by the Nation of Islam and said some harsh things including 'all white men are devils' etc etc. He wasn't too popular back then was he? what I admire about him (the man not the boxer) was, rightly or wrongly, he stood by what he believed and he nearly ended up broke because of this. Don't get me wrong here Ryan, my intention is not to insult you personally I just made an assumption that you are young (definitely younger than me at 29!) because you seem to be getting annoyed over this. I don't doubt your passion and knowledge for the fight game but just because I don't like Tyson as a man I still agree that he was a ferocious fighter. But like I said it is purely conjecture, it's never going to happen, Ali's not quite fit enough at the moment but he did say he's making a comeback soon ;-)I met the great man back in 2009 and wrote about him in Fighters magazine. I have recently written about Angelo Dundee (RIP) which will go into either Combat or Fighters next month so I hope you enjoy the read if you get the mag. Anyhow, no hard feelings we both each believe Ali or Tyson were the best as I am sure many do (I even have a friend who says Larry Holmes was the greatest of all time!)
Good luck with your fight career and all the best
