As for the show, some great fights and have to say the overall level of "C-Class" fights was really high! Some really impressive lads coming through and showing great skills especially compared to their experince levels. Some classy B-Class and the main event was action packed A-Class action.
Really enjoyed seeing the smart fighters like David Sa who did exactly what he needed to do to stop the fight early and was a class act winning by low kick stoppage.
Kyle Hellier was the one that stood out for me and you know I love you Kyle but I train with Liam and was secretly gunning for the underdog ;) Liam is class and huge at 67kg's, awkward southpaw (not to be confused with AMT ;) lol..) with a massive left kick. He is a powerhouse but Kyle really showed his experience and some beautiful evade and counter techniques that had me and Howson wondering if he can dislocate his spine! Kyle took some big shots and kept his composure to take the win and for me was one of the best performances I've seen from Kyle, good work mate! Credit to Liam whos only on 8/9 fights now and shows great promise for the future mixing it up with someone at Kyles level.
Rash Muhammad dished out muaythai 101 and a textbook performance kicking the body well, end of.
So happy for Nick Carter who is an ambasador for muaythai with such a good attitude and work ethic and a real passion to be the best he can be. Watch out for this lad in the future as he's a novice now but I don't see it taking long before he's up there.
Rich "Jazzy Jeff" Lee, or Rich "Fresh Prince" Lee as he's often known due to his afro put on a great performance against a very tough Rory Crawford to become the ISKA Southern Area Champ. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy and lives and breathes the sport.
Can't talk about everyone as I'm supposed to be working but obviously have to talk about the main event. This was a step up in opponant for Carlton and a great match up. Carlton started strong in the early rounds but Yahia showed class and superb fitness but coming forward the whole time. The KO game plan was spot on and Yahia didn't let Carlton's kicks phase him, he aswered and walked forward with long knees and constantly kicked off both legs. In the clinch neither really dominated in my view but Yahia landed a few elbows but nothing with real effect, instead both fighters locked each other down. Carlton sarted to score a knee before locking in the later stages of the fight but Yahia's superier work on the outside had him ahead on the score sheets imo. Both lads had an explosive finish to what was an action packed fight but Yahia had scored well throughout the whole fight and took the victory. Big respect to Yahia but as I've said before, I have huge belief that Carlton Lieu is going places and I think it's easy to forget that this was his 7th outing (9th fight due to tourney) and first A-Class and to mix it with someone of Yahia's skills he deserves big respect.
Back to work now, over and out x
