Have to say a quick word about my good friend Sam Wilson of Team Tieu V's the very tough Eric Darricarrere from Team Panicos. This was to decide the ISKA British Title at 72.5kgs. This was a great display of techniques with both fighters starting in the traditional Thai way and testing each other. Both fighters displayed a real awareness and were working each other out before moving into some really powerful techniques. This was the first time I'd seen Eric fight but I've heard alot about this highly rated fighter and he didn't disapoint. Sam Wilson is in my view still a highly underated fighter and showed his skills in this performance and secured a convincing win. Sam has great hands and throws accurate punches at angles that people don't see coming and he utilised this to set up some powerful kicks to secure the points.

I'd really like to see Sam Wilson take on any of the big names between 70-72.5kg's as I believe he will cause a major upset to a number of class fighters. Sam has fought and won British titles but I really feel it's time he was given the opportunity to fight for commonwealth, international and world titles as he's ready to move onto the bigger stage and start testing his skills against the best, obviously one step at a time. The big question is: who will be willing to give him the chance?
