K-1 Kickboxing - Official Tryouts!!!

Recognized as the largest kickboxing promotion in the world, K-1 will be making a move to the United States with open tryouts happening in July to find the latest talent to compete in the promotion.

The tryouts that will be held at the famed Muscle Beach in Los Angeles, Calif. go down on Thursday, July 19 starting at 1pm PT.

For the fighters chosen to compete in K-1, they will have the opportunity to fight for $2 million dollars in prize money including $1 million for the 2012 K-1 Grand Prix champion winner, as well as $300,000 to the runner up and another $300,000 to the winner of the 2012 K-1 Max Tournament.

“K-1 would like to invite all talented stand-up fighters to come to Muscle Beach in LA on July 19 and show us what you have, and why you belong in the K-1 family,” said Doug Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer, K-1. “K-1 is the gold standard in stand-up fighting, and we are searching for the best new athletes out there to represent K-1 and possibly become one of kickboxing’s newest icons.”

To sign up for the open tryouts go to the K-1 Facebook page and register there, and a confirmation email will be sent.

Past K-1 champions including Alistair Overeem, Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts and many other legends that made their name competing with the kickboxing promotion.

Now they make a new push in 2012 starting with the open tryouts in July.
