It is an interesting concept. 4oz gloves obviously changes the dynamics of the striking, making the hands much more dangerous.

I often feel, that when watching "Modified Muaythai for MMA" ( what some often refer to as Cage-kickboxing instead of Thai-Kickboxing ) with level changing between a higher and a lower base stance and the takedown defence etc.... that you are watching what closely resembles the Muay-Boran styles.

Its a shame that the unified rules that are widely used in M.M.A. do not allow the downward elbow from 12 to 6 O'clock, as it would be great to see more jump-downward elbows along with all the flying knee's that we see in the Octogon, ( it would be even more Muay-Boran style then).

Maybe "Caged-Muaythai" will take off. World-Combat-League, in a circled area rather than a ring, seems to be on U.K. sat television quite a lot, ( not a fan though ).
