i have been t-total for 9 years this november and being 51 its the greatest thing i have ever done.
when i boxed 20 odd years ago i drank and can honestly say it hindered me.
i think its what level you want to take yourself to as a fighter there was a open class fighter at our club who never drunk and and had a terrific fight record.
i remember ricky hatton having a bottle of budweiser after he beat carl wall at everton park sports hall in his only senior year as a amateur and i remember him saying that he 1 bottle after every bout and 1 bottle only . but alcohol is a dangerous drug so if i myself had the chance again i would never would have drunk in the first place and maybe i might of had a better amateur career pax
