Hell I enjoy the effects of alcohol as much as anyone, in fact so much so it easially becomes too much and for years I didn't recognise the harm I was doing. The simple fact is that no one ever has a drinking problem, it's just thoes who have to live and opperate around them that have the problems. Problems of putting up with mood swings, depression, aggression, violence. Problems of seeing their kids dissapointed because dad/mum forget their bithday again, missed seeing them compete in sports again, missed seeing them growing up because they were too busy with their drinking or getting over their drinking. Yep plenty of people can drink with restraint, most of the time, but everyone who has drunk has at least one story where their drinking led to unpleasent, unsocial, risk taking, embarrassing, dangerious or damaging behaviour. I hate seeing fighters drinking straight after their fight & ban mine from doing so. Ever fighter takes hits to the head. Any the damage is hidden and needs time to be assessed and the brain needs to recouperate before inflicting the effect of alcohol onto it. Yep, keeping off it in the 6 weeks lead up to a fight is good but then leave it for a another 24 hours before drinking again after your fight.
