The Return Of Frankie Hudders 23/04/15 Birmingham

LEGEND V LEGEND (THE GOLDEN ERA OF MUAY THAI)

For many years Black Widow Promotions has strived to bring our audience the very best domestic and international Muay Thai bouts, but for a very long time we have craved for a legendary fighter from the golden age of Muay Thai to return to the ring and grace us with their ring craft and presence once again.

The wait is now over, arguably one of the most dominant fighters in UK Muay Thai history returns to the squared circle for one more starlight performance, the legend known as Frankie Hudders. A pioneer in the world of Muay Thai who dominated the fight scene in a career spanning across four decades, starting in the 1980s and concluding in 2010! A multi time world champion across several weight divisions. Hudders grew to an iconic status during his reign as the UKs best pound for pound fighter, during the 1990s & early 2000s.

Accumulating a fight career of 75 fights with 60 wins to his name and turning pro at the tender age of just 13, during an unregulated period in our sport. Hudders destroyed everyone placed infront of him and made it look effortless, his ring craft, technique, verosity and skill was unmatched by anyone during this era, as Hudders surely was the main event bout on any super show. Notable opponents Hudders has competed against include Giorgio Patrosyan, Mustafe Dede, Nordin Elotmani & Sak Kaoponglek just to name a few.

A champion of this status can only be placed against equal competition from across the shores against Italy’s greatest export Diego Calzolari, the founder and head coach of Team Calzolari (De Gym 2.0) based in Milan, Italy. Calzolari a multi time world champion under both Muay Thai & K1 Rules, has for many years dominated the Muay Thai scene in Italy and actively competed in Thailand, destroying all opposition placed against him, including great names such as Namsaknoi “The Emperor”, Itthipol Khieo Akkasivorn, Kem “Fairtex” (Now Sitsongpeenong) & Sak Kaoponglek, to name a few before finally retiring from active competition a few years ago.

Calzolari, undoubtedly Italys “Champion of Champions”, known as “De Pro” again showcases a huge fight record of 31 wins from his 42 contests, reigned as a dominating force. Again similar to his opponent in skill, precision and KO power, Calzolari dispatched many of his opposition with ease. Calzolari is already training hard for Hudders and is in phenomenal condition and ready for the challenge!

Both legendary champions have had similar career paths and share similar successes today and most would consider Hudders to be the best coach in the UK today, whilst his counterpart Calzolari is the best and most accomplished Muay Thai coach in Italy today. Both fighters have also competed at a similar level in the prime of their careers and share a similar age now, so this is certainly an even fight on paper.

These amazing fighters make their epic return to the ring on Saturday the 23rd of April 2016, at The Supreme located in the heart of Birmingham. A purpose built venue, which will now out stage many of the UKs best venues today!

The event will also host some of the very best talent the UK has to offer, as well as our flagship 8 man Full Thai Rules Tournament, Last Man Standing. Tickets will shortly be on sale for this once in a lifetime event and is guaranteed to be a sell out so get your tickets ASAP!!
