2 x World Muay Thai champion Panicos Yusuf is back at The Tanko Main Event 2016, and he’s set to face his toughest test ever. On May 14th, the All Powers athlete will square off against former Lumpini Stadium champion Kongsak Sitboonme - one of Thailand’s most decorated athletes of all time.
Panicos comes into this bout in sensational form having beaten numerous high calibre opponents along the way. One of Europe’s most technically gifted fighters, the Tanko Management athlete has put together a streak of more than 20 consecutive victories, including wins over WMC European champion Stephen Meleady, former Thai champion Rittijak Kaewsamrit and Dutch superstar Sergio WIelzen. A fan favourite boasting an impressive record of 35 wins from 39 contests, Panicos’s presence at The Tanko Main Event 2016 will be a hugely welcome one.
In the opposite corner on May 14th will be one of the most successful Muay Thai athletes of this generation. Twenty-five-year old Kongsak Sitboonme is a former 2-weight Lumpini Stadium champion and winner of the 2010 Sportswriter’s Boxer Of The Year award. A southpaw with devastating kicking ability, Kongsak has beaten some of the biggest names in Muay Thai during his career, including Nong-O and Petchboonchu and brings a record of over 200 contests to the stage. His appearance at The Tanko Main Event 2016 is something Muay Thai fans all across the country will relish.
