And Brian I do a fairly good western 'north american' accent I'll have you know. 95% of people I meet in England assume I'm american anyhow, or Irish actually - I never did figure out why. Can't imagine why that is :) All I have to do to sound american is not say 'aboot' instead of 'about' and cut 'eh' out of my vocabulary. Oh, and remember to take off my toque. :)
Thanks for the comments guys, its a new site developed for work purposes by a web designer in california and its (obviously) not done yet. Given time it will include more gratutitous self-promotion and whatever video clips can be salvaged as useable from my vast body of work ;-p

Last news I heard was that Team One is supposed to be released this autumn. I'm not really in it for very long to be honest - hell, they might even cut my scenes out! I hope not though, it was damn fun to do.

Lead? Ha! No, I play one of the 8 women in some futuristic fight tournament and I get my ass kicked royally in the second round by three women (after being chased around London by a turbo-charged car - how cool!) I'm lead in my scenes but hardly integral to the plot :)
I'm not sure what Gary did, I didn't bump into him on set but from postings on Ax it sounds like he got to fight the Raymont twins (who I didn't get a scene with, damn!) The Raymont twins (from the Matrix) are the lead actors and as for plot...it changed rather a lot from start to finish so you'd be better off checking out their website www.team1themovie.com
Definitely one of the most incredibly fun jobs I've ever had though!

And I just noticed you Western ride - do you know I've trained for many years as a stunt rider? Jousting, lancework, swordwork, military manouevres, bareback, vaulting.....riding is sooo adictive!

I've been riding since 1989, though I've had breaks in between regular spells of riding, and am on a break at the moment - time constraints on physical activity because I'm practising my 'real' sport so much!

I bet you're gonna make me jealous and tell me you've a quarterhorse back in Canadianialand!

I haven't ridden in years but grew up in Northern Alberta on a farm and we used to ride a lot. We'd use horses to round the cattle up etc (no, really we did). Just a farm girl, me :) Sounds like you would ride circles around me with no trouble at all - good lord, jousting?

I was only on Family Affairs very very briefly playing a friend of one of the regulars. I laugh at a joke, make some comments and order some wine. Not exactly a recurring role.

You're right, Ray Brady is a top guy, and his wife Deba as well. I worked with Ray on the film he made right before Team1 called Day of the Sirens, with Rik Mayall, and when I heard he was doing a martial arts film I marched down to the office and made him cast me! I've just got a small role, but yeah damn fun and the fight directors were so good to work with. I'd never done any stage combat training and I found it quite difficult to learn how to make it look real without actually hitting and hurting people. I saw a couple of the guys take some pretty good thumps and bumps during rehearsals, and I did (accidentally) knee a guy in the face during rehearsals. I still maintain that he lowered his head too much! :)

On a completely off topic note - My new flatmate just gave me a book called 'The Complete Idiot's Guide to Kickboxing'. I think I'm insulted

Hey Kara - when you see the movie, take a look at Adrian Rayment's nose - the mark on it was caused by me clippin him!! Ooops! Corner of the glove scratched! Fortunately he's really down to earth....'cause he's a good martial artist and I might have had trouble!!

I know what you mean about stage fighting - it was hard missing! And when I fight if a shot misses me it gets ignored...although I think the only reason why I got in was because of my unique way of selling a shot - I just got them to hit me!!! Meant it was a nice natural reaction! Lol!

Ray and Deba are good people, and wish all involved at Imaginary the best for Team 1 and Sirens!

I've been thinking about diversifying myself...media is interesting, whether its writing, presenting, producing.....the TV and Film work I've done has always interested me! Not sure about acting though, I'll leave that to someone who can! I'll always be available as a bad guy to get beaten up though!!

Kara, good luck with all your pursuits! Your bigger breaks will come, and you're making more headway than most! You've got enough fans on here anyway!

Speaking of actors that do American accents...most of the fake american accents that I've heard in the movies sound like an exagerated mix of a heavy boston or New York Accent. The best American Accents that I've heard from non-American actors are are Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club). Hugh Jackman slips every now and then, but Helena's accent is very impressive. I've heard her speak in interviews and I was very surprised to hear her strong British accent.

Smiler, they were quarterhorses although sometimes I got to ride a retired racehorse that belonged to a friend of mine. That was amazing! Its been a hell of a long time since I've been on horseback, I think I'm going to look up some stables and find somewhere to get back on a horse! I think I got into the movie for the same reason as you, I took one hell of a lot of shots to the stomach and jaw. I came out of filming battered and bruised but with a big grin on my (bruised) face! I just hope it looks good on camera, I'm a bit anxious to see how it comes out.

Fatboy, I think you'll be waiting a long long time for the book. I can't seem to get past the first sentence "Congratulations! You've just taken the first step to learning kickboxing - you've picked up this book!". Gee, I feel stronger and more powerful already :)

I disagree...some women don't look good with long hair.

I've got to say Sandy, I think you're tops but some of your comments are making me shake my head. Women being lazy if they don't want to spend the time (and money) it takes to keep long hair in style? I really didn't want to get involved in a conversation (on a kickboxing website guys!) about women's hairstyles, but ... I've had short and long hair. I like both, right now long is better for me for work. I'll probably cut it at some point in the future. I have a lot of hair and it can take up to 45min to dry it straight (so it's not all frizzy sticking up all over), plus all the damn products to keep it that way. Or pay hundreds of pounds to have it chemically straightened. Thats why when I'm not working its usually in a ponytail. And even a ponytail isn't great for training, because it still whips around into my face - not practical!

Our 'crowning glory' ?? Bollocks!! (can I say that Brian?) My crowning glory is my brain, thanks very much - over 130 IQ (a geek and damn proud of it!). Or maybe my work ethic, or my generosity to my friends or ... I don't know, but 'A woman's hair is her crowning glory' is a very old, biblical reference that really does make it sound like a woman's best place is where she looks pretty. And I think I know you well enough Sandy to know that you wouldn't dream of suggesting that. But this whole 'long hair' issue...I agree with Brian. Hair is hair. Some people look better with it short, some long (men and women), Brian looks great with none :)
