I agree with Basil..

It has alot to do with your size as well...

If you've got mo-hoo-sive hands like me, don't get anything below 14oz..

I found that it's easier to start with a heavier pair of gloves when sparring, it gets you used to the fact that when your arms get tired as the lactic acid builds up, each time you put them on, your arms won't ache as much..to the point when, as I find it now, they won't get tired at all. You accept the weight of the gloves as actually being part of the weight of your own arms (Does this make sense, or am I drivelling?)

...if you decide to get lighter gloves later, it'll be easier as you will be used to having more weight on your fists.

I'm gonna go lie down and think about how I could have explained this a whole lot easier!! :OS
