Well done to Dougie and Tommy, was a good show and I think everyone enjoyed the show!
I heard a couple of the supporters saying Craig and Stevie's fight was a fix (not the fighters or corners, I might add), I just wanted to say that I do my best to be as impartial as possible! In fact, I personally really like Craig and his team a lot, but that has got nothing to do with it, I just judged the fight as I saw it. Here is my take on the fight.
Muay Thai is often scored even over the first 2 rounds, but Craig started this fight very strong and took this 1st round 10-9. I think Craig got in Stevie's head in the 1st, as Stevie had no power in his shots and looked visible troubled. However, Criag seemed to take the foot of the gas a bit in the 2nd, he still edged the round but it was much more even. Stevie wasn't hurting Craig with any of his kicks here, but they were making the round more even and the clinch was close aswell! For me, this was the most important round in the fight, if Craig had kept the momentum going from the 1st, I think Stevie would have struggled to come back, but he didnt and Stevie got his confidence back. From round 3, Stevie started to throw his kicks with a little more power and particularly in the 4th and 5th, Craig wasn't returning the body kicks. I know Craig is too tough for is own good and probably wasn't hurt by the kicks, but they were still scoring. Stevie also edged the clinch and in the later rounds and in the 5th scored with some nice turns and and straight knee's. I actually scored the fight closer and gave it 49:48 I think, but thought Stevie played the Muay Thai game better. I thought it was a good fight and athough both fighters had different views of the fight, in the big picture both walked away unhurt and will have taken a lot from it, well done to both!
Have to say the best fight for me was Jonno and Jordan, amazing skills from these young lads and for me it was a very close fight, with Jordan just edging the 4th in the clinch and having a strong 5th with the clinch, but I didn't think it was beyond Jonno in the last round. Jonno started the fight with good punch and kick combo's with a strong 'Damien Trainor' style left hook to the body. But to Jordan's credit, he soaked up some strong shots and scored with body kick's and knee's and for me, the first few rounds fairly even. Jordan was definitly the more strong in the clinch and for me that was the big difference in the fight for me and as Andy said, Jordan had a very big 5th round and showed a lot of experience to take the decision. Both of these lads have great futures IMO!
