It is that time again. Time for all us know-it-alls to determine who knows it all. I can't believe that this is the 5th time we've done this together. You guys are great. But I'M GREATER !!! LOL.

i think there should be more dutch guys in the k-1. these three have already won the title. cough-cough. what am i saying?
4 days to go.
LOL
3 out of 8, and you want more:) I think that Botha will be talking Dutch after next weekend.
Bring it on.
i forgot that south africans speak dutch.
i can't wait till i visit holland. i will wear wooden shoes, smoke pot and not pay for my date's dinner. i may even get to see some kickboxing while i'm there.
Where have you been hole your life Felix, under a rock? I have been in Holland, and I didn’t see any wooden shoes or kickboxing, but the girls I dated on my holiday paid for my dinner and for my tobacco:)
As far I as know, they don’t speak Dutch in South Africa, but Afrikaans. Sound like Dutch, but it is a combination of Dutch, Flemish and English.
Botha will be speaking Afrikaans with a soft dialect of down town Amsterdam on Sunday, and it will sound like he got a wooden shoe up his nose, and like he is high on pot… LOL
Ok chaps, feel free to copy my predictions as I am the reigning champion :), which means I will no doubt come last this time!

Good luck everyone!
Phil :
Do you have a list over the past champs here on Ax pool? If I not am mistaken; you, Felix, David Lucas and Dirk Stal are the best betters on this board.
Unfortunately not Oliver, I am still roasting in the glow of my greatest sporting achievement of the year in winning the pool last time!
At last count, I was in third I think behind Phil and someone else.
I forgot your name P.J.
Let’s see if Phil or you can take the gold once again? Good luck to both of you.
hey! good luck to myself and the rest of you guys... ;)

it seems to me that felix " mr statistics" published a running total of peoples
pool results a year back or so. i think there were only 4 people in the eliminations pool in sep..
Here's the link (I'm not sure if its up to date though):

Interesting to see every single person has gone for Remy and Hoost to be the longest fight. If everyone is right then its a shame they were matched so early as it will take a lot out of Remy when he eventually wins the bout:)

As I have been saying the last couple of years, I feel find ending up as number two in an Ax K-1 pool, just as long as I don’t loose to Felix, Dirk Stal or David Lucas.
I can’t help it friends, nothing personal.... And then again, it is personal :)
It's interesting that so many ppl have picked the Mo vs Koaklai fight to be the shortest,
The Thai is extremely experienced, possibly having fought more rounds that any other competitor.
Also, despite a huge weight disadvantage, he managed to win the K1 Asia.
While he may not win, I think his experience and skill should help him considerably against Mo, so he may well go the distance,
If you check back I don't think you'll find ppl picking him to win the Asia K1
Similarly, few picked Buakow to do well in the K1 Max,
no one picked him to win the k-1 asia because no one heard of him or the rest of the lineup.
I admit I had never heard of him before reading about him on here, plus he is on the small side, therefore he comes well down my list.
Although I can see your point Jones, he is now fighting people who are much heavier, powerful and highly skilled, which is a dangerous combination. Just because he has fought big lads before and won doesn't really prove anything, as I have a mate who is 6`4 and 17 stone but he is well crap at fighting.
Saying that, Musashi surprised us all last year didn't he, and in the world of K1 he is a midget.
Musashi surprised us all on the expense of a sick Ray Sefo and tree blind judges in his fight against Aerts. All my respect to Musashi and for what he accomplish last year at the 2003 Grand Prix, but lets wait and see if he can do again this year? I doubt!
The points decision may have been dogy against Aerts but he still went three rounds with him, and although he was outclassed by Remy in the final, he again proved his durabilty. This allied with his excellent technical skills makes for a good fighter who shouldnt be underestimated.
I don’t underestimate Musashi; he has indeed improved his skills. Still we are talking about how he surprised us all last year.

Who won??
I looks like Dan G or Martin.
oliver im sure we're somewhere near the basement ;) all my first round picks lost! i think there will be a lot of ugly scores. only one knockout, only 3 k.d's
( must be a record low for a k-1 tourney)
Hope im not to late but here's what i recon will happen
Koaklai will beat Mighty Mo = ko
Musashi will beat Sefo = dec
Botha will beat Aerts = injuri
Bonjasky will beat Hoost = dec
Musashi will beat Koaklai = dec
Bonjasky will beat botha = dec
Bonjasky will beat Musashi = dec
Do i get the prize
lol
yep. you get the prize. i made it myself too. just go down the hall and take the door next to my room. it'll be floating in the white bowl.
sorry. just wanted to see how gross i could be without swearing. hehe.
first prize is a musashi t shirt
2nd prize is 2 musashi t shirts
3rd prize is 3...... etc
David Lucas :
We will do better next year my friend:) 2005 will be the year where we will leave the basement, and move to the penthouse a Trump Tower.
What a Grand Prix! Who would have thought that Sefo would loose to Musashi, and Aerts to Botha? At least my prediction about the shortest fight was right; Aerts lost on injury after only + 1 minute...LOL
Looks like those who backed Mo vs Kaoklai as the shortest fight, kind of ironic because I don't think result was expected.
Maybe time for a rethink?
Ok, nobody else does it, so I am going to sacrifice myself :

Congrats and respect Danny boy!
Thanks Martin & Oliver,
I love the under dog!
Kaoklai earnt my respect by beating
Alexi for a spot. He may not be exciting to
watch, but he scores and then gets the f***
out of harms way.I'm flying back to Japan today
so i'll be finally able to watch it.
Peace.
Danny
damn, I'm really on a losing streak lately. :)

Next year, Musashi #1.
Even if they need to shoot his opponent.
Phil:
You did it again!! You should change your name too razor. Next year I will feel free to copy:) K-1 Grand Prix champion Phil.
musashi will probably face someone like abidi next year to enter the grand prix and get put on his ass.
He probably will Felix. And Remy will face Akabono’s big brother, Hoost will face Naksasko, Jerome will face Glaube and Sefo will stand face too face with Aziz.
Is the same old story year after year!
I...I...I am overwhelmed, what can I say. I`d like to thank my wife for being there for me when I was picking my fighters and letting me watch too much K1 on telly.
Danny Blake, you had victory given to you and cruelly snatched away, let me take this moment to say we are all winners here, anyone who steps into a forum ring will never be a loser.
I couldnt have done it without you guys, you`re the best!
Get down!
Belittling comments are only only allowed by those that entered the pool Mr Jackson, I will ignore all others. :)
You won the Ax pool Phil, not an Oscar:)
Great humor!
@ Felix : Shame on me...
Conclusion : Precision beats speed *g*
at least you noticed that white sniper was cheating. LOL.
