Where?

UK? Probably couple of hundred quid per fight at British title level

K1 - Japan? Probably a few of grand per fight if you're a big name (aerts/bonjaski etc)

lets be honest there is not realy such thing as a pro in the uk. Top Am boxers get more at international level.I think the word pro just divides the class between novice and A class or in some cases B class.

Particularly in UK full contact there is no really big money being paid, however before the money most come the structure. A proper Pro set up needs a solid amateur foundation. Once that is in place over a period of time the Pros will get better and then the money can improve (and they should be fighting proper pro distances for it). Don't want to make any political statements but it's my belief that the reluctance of 'governing' bodies to make firm guidelines available on this is the major stumbling block for the sport.

and thats exactly why we need to think about structure...build from the bottom up. Their are people now pursueing a proper amateur structure resulting in amateur fighters far better than some of the 'pros' and when they all come through the game will be much better for it.

what you say about titles is spot on, however its not the 'mickey mouse' groups who are the only ones doing it, some of the titles being put on recently by the 'legit' ones are terrible IMO.

Nice to see your back active again

This is the reason FC fighters leave and go to K1 or Pro Boxing.

All down to no exposure and lack of sponsorship even pro boxers dont get a lot at bottom level i got paid £400 boxing 6 rounds if the fight was on telly i would have got £2000 promoters cant pay high purses in kickboxing as putting on a show costs so much money unless you are selling thousands of tickets or getting big sponsorship or money from the tv companies shows in small halls just dont make enough money to pay top wage promoters need to help build bigger followings for fighters and some how attract more profile to the sport but how to get the sport more publicity i dont know

How to get more publicity?

We need a better quality product for a start.

Then household names, in there own town for a start, then market these guys as the face of kickboxing, build their image up with the sports as decent, wholesome and family orienated.

I build up relations with local media and get people in there so they become know, the club becomes known and the sport becomes known. Its a start if we all do it. Then one day when we do get wider coverage, people will be more inclined to buy into it and it will be more successfull

Colin. I just read on another thread that the AKA recently sanctioned a British Title fight for someone having thier first ever fight. How is that helping ?

in nearly every country of this World you get more money for fighting then in the UK!

I agree with some of the comments as to expense of organising a show but still why do it if you can not pay accordingly.

That is why I only fight abroad!!!

In Bosnia you get 1000€ or more for a fight...and let's be honest the economy there is nowhere close to here.

K-1 and MMA is the Future for payments.

And Colin, FC Kickboxing is for a long time on the market - I can not wait another 10 years for a Miracle to happen - If ever it will happen.

Amateur side development is all good but takes a lot of time and with this many organizations might not happen ever as "everyone like to be the 1st in the Village and not 2nd in the Town"!
