Muay Thai show, Heywood June 28th

I will be holding a c and b class Muay Thai show on June 28th at the Hewywood Civic centre. I will be hoepfully putting a couple of junior fights on this, also over five rounds.

All the fights will be over five rounds, 1.5 mins for c class and 2 mins for b class. Anyone interested please send me details of your fighters asap.

Tony Myers wil be the ref and I will be using judges that have passed his assessment with the opportunity for anyone to shadow judge who has done Tony's course. I am holding a course the day before in my gym in Bury.

I've a couple of interesting looking b class fights in the pipe line and I will post these as soon as they are confirmed.

I am looking for fighters for the following though:-

Josh Turbill 67kgs Spitfire gym. 7f 7w, all points

Becky Aldersely 55kgs age 17, 6f 4w to fight with shin pads and 12oz gloves.

Kat Holden 50kgs 1f 1w.

I've got details of some fighters allready and I am playing with matches for these, so those who have given me names don't think I am ignoring you.

Cheers

I'm desperate for a girl to fight at 55kg, 17 years old six fight (one was a junior fight) 4w, prefer shin pads and 12oz gloves but could possibly do no pads.

Also, believe it or not two 69/71kg lads at 2 fights and three fights, can't believe I can't find anyone for them

Andy Morris v Mike Clarke, 5x1.5 mins 79kgs

A step up here for our Mikey Clarke.
Though evenly matched at 3 fights for Mikey and 4 (i think) for Andy, Mikey has only two years traing experience compared with as Sandy said Andys 10 years.
Andy gotta be favourite on paper but Mikey is a rough old customer and very strong so should be one to watch.
Best wishes Mikey and to Farky and young Shaun too, lets hope for another hatrick of wins to follow our Leeds Town hall success.

Craig Willis' junior carl alderson has stepped in to fight Bradley Turner from my gym.. Carl is giving away weigh and experience, so that the lads can fight so a big thank you to Craig and Carl.

Carl Alderson v Bradley Turner

Carl won pts, great junior fight to start the show, carl gave away weight and exp to help us with a match for brad and took a well deserved victory

Carl Adamson v Paul Farquhson, 5x1.5 mins, 81kgs
Rage Tobin's Gym Carl won pts

Kyle Teale v Dean Lowney, 5 x 1.5 mins (junior rules)49kgs
GFC Pythons, Dean won 1st tko, hurt Kyle with a knee early and Kyle couldn't recover, well doen Dean that's two nil to him

Brad Stenson v Mark Webster 5 x 1.5 mins 60kgs
Hanuman Kev harper Brad won 3rd tko, excellant performancr from Brad who I predict will do big things!

Kat v Wendy Bake , 5 x 1.5 mins 51kgs
GFC Phoenix Wendy won pts, swang back and forth But wendy deserved victor

John Bakewell V Matthew Morris, , 5x1.5 mins 63kgs
GFC Kev Harper John won pts, turned it around in the last wo, but mtthew, who is only young will again be a future star

Andy Morris v Mike Clarke, 5x1.5 mins 79kgs
Wigan TBC Tobin's Gym,Mike Clarke won pts

Carly Wightman v Lauren 53kgs 5 x 1.5 mins, 53kgs
Salford Phoenix lauren won when Carly retird in the fourth

Rian Mercer v Rob Horrocks , 5.1.5 mins, 65kgs
GFC Super gym Rob won tko 3rd, very strong boxer!!

Daniel Stott v Jason Lee (Spennymoore Thai Boxing) 5x1.5 mins 55kgs
Stockport Thai Fighters. Daniel won pts

Luke O'shaughnessy v Adam Hadfield, 5x2 mins, 79kgs
Sam's Gym Fight Unit Figth was called off after round two, both lads had a badly split shin and both were bleeding badly so the doctor stopped the fight

Mark Skeer v Darren Till, 5x1.5 mins, 69kgs
Salford Saphire Darren Till pts, I have to thank mark and Daz Morris for taking the figth and giving away so much experience

Sean Perry v Goose, 67kgs, 5x2 mins
Premier Thai Boxing Fight Unit

Fight of the NIGHT!!!!! These two lads are so hard. I watchd Goose figth Kane Watson earlier this year and knew he could take a shot, and Sean can bang also. But Sean worked the body kick so well, Goose never gave up but was always chasing the fight becasue of the body kick. Great fight though!!

Anth Shelton v Ryan Lowney, 59kgs, 5x2 mins Anth won 3rd tko, didn't realy se it so can't say much

Josh Turbill v Chris Hargreaves, 67kgs, 5x2 mins
Spitfire Elite Bolton

Josh won 1st round. Josh put Chris down with a body kick in the 1st and Chris just beat the count but Josh was straight on him, hit him with another body kick and then a knee and the ref stopped it. I know Chris was upset to be stopped and foggy also, but the referee's number one job in the safety of the fighters!! I beleive they have agreed a rematch

Was a long weekend what with the seminar yesterday also. Would like to say thank you to everyone for both yesterday and tomorrow, can't name names as i would definately leave someone out!!

We lost four out of five today which is unusual these days. I gave all my fighters hard fights today, wanted to really test a couple and hopefully see if they can learn from it. We will see

Overall the fights I thought were pretty good given the inexperience of the figthers on show. I think some gyms are defiantely reaping the benifit of a better understanding of the rules and the scoring!!

I think John Hale has done good things with Sean Perry

Gary Macalisters lads improve all the time

Watch out for Craig Willis and his lads, all nice style

Thanks again everyone!!!

Thanks daz for a great show, every show i go to now the quality of fighters is improving, skill level and control is excellent no windmilling LOL obviously i'm made up with darren, mark skeer gave away experience yesterday but showed the heart to carry on when he was getting low kick heavily on that lead leg, he properly took the fight to darren but darren showed why before he lost to mason and josh he was classed as one the best up & coming young fighters. Hard to believe he's only 16.

Couple fighters to watch out for IMO:
the 2 Majestic lads loved there style
Rob horrocks - excellent improvement since I saw him fight in Ireland
Lauren form phoenix - took the onslaught from carly who always starts ferociously
kicked well to score and to force a retirement. Carly's tough and will bounce back.
Sean Perry john hales premier gym he's tough and scored well yesterday.

hope I havent forgot anyone there the ones that stuck in my head.

carly v lauren .... carly is naturally 55kg and loosing the extra 2kg killed her ... far to light and she couldn't pull it off against a liitle talent like lauren, IMO Lauren is one to watch for the future ..... gaz mc has done a quality job with her
